That's what state Governments don't want you to know. Homeless fulltime workers are skyrocketing in Florida. Because rent is completely unaffordable. Wages are just way too low for what it costs to actually live. No one seems to care.
Florida has tons of tent cities. I would have never known. I did find out that the majority of the people in Florida are not very nice and the division of colors is off the charts. Everybody hates Everybody.
@@T1C45 There are tons of tent cities, that's for sure. Florida is very different in different parts of the state. Some areas, unfortunately, there are a lot of racial divides. But others that's not true at all. Florida is a very diverse state on multiple levels. The one divide that is widening rapidly, is the class/ monetary divide. The middle class is getting smaller and the rich are getting richer. And the rich don't want to share their stuff.
Even an hour outside the city rent is unaffordable for most single people in average (bachelor degree) wage jobs. I won't be able to rent in Florida much longer. Looking into other options because my rent went up 40%
And if you are old with money DO NOT move to Florida!!! Guardianship criminals are literally kidnapping the elderly right out of their home and ransacking their financials. It's a huge problem all over the US and Canada but particularly bad in Florida.
As a lifelong resident of Florida, I never would have thought a 1 bedroom apartment would cost 1400 bucks a month in Stuart. What's going on is insane! My storage unit rent went up 40 percent overnight.....
@@NoPickmeishasAllowed I know. In 2015 my rent went from 1100 to 1800 so we left NYC to FL. The same story in every state so where can a family relocate? Sad for a lot of families.
I was a mortgage broker between 2002 and 2006, I got out because I saw what was coming because I had an economists for a father-in-law, I was fortunately in a completely different field when the crash of 2008 came. I see the same things happening now. One of the things that I do see happening that is different are these giant corporations buying up entire neighborhoods and paying astronomical prices. They are doing this to jack up the rent prices in order to rent to people coming from areas where $2500 for a studio is the normal. They are pricing families out of the market. All of this is really bad. We are heading not for another Great Recession, but for another depression and we have very little time to do anything about it. This is not about one party over another, this is the whole government’s problem and they need to do their jobs. Most of them have seen this happen before too, they’re all 100 years old so they got to see both. They want us to keep fighting amongst ourselves over our “team“ when they’re two sides of the same coin. As long as we’re fighting they keep getting to do whatever they want because we’re not paying attention. Watch for gold prices to really start to spike and for non-tangible stock prices start going down. If this happens get your money out of the stock market and put it into something tangible like gold. The reason the Gods ld prices start to go up is because that’s where the wealthy are moving their money to. Always pay attention to what the wealthy are doing, I don’t mean rich I mean actually wealthy, because they have way more information than we do. Sorry for the rant thank you if you trade this far.
You u have to have every right to rant because you see it coming too as I do and you are not alone. I too speak out against what's going on and they even put down as a radical! I too I'm tired of the b******* and all the games. 🛐🆙✅ Cheif Ram 🐏
So those giant corporation are taking the risk because housing prices and rents will go down with a recession. They may lose money. We have an Open door house that's been sitting on the market here for months.
We decided to have our second child after waiting 9 years to make sure we were stable. The day after we got home from the hospital from giving birth we were informed the landlord was selling our home of the last 5 years. We started looking, a one bedroom is now the same price as what we were paying from the 3 bedroom we are having to leave. The real killer is when these landlords ask for you to make 3 to 4 times the amount of the monthly rent... a studio is about $1,000 now, who makes $3,000 to $4,000 a month as a single individual... for a 3 bedroom they expect you to make around $6,000 a month. I don't know a soul who makes that a month.
In a lot of places, local building codes prohibit or limit sharing housing between unrelated individuals, which essentially eliminates co-housing as an option for individuals who are financially challenged. It's not a shortage of available spaces that is a problem. It's a lack of affordable legal alternatives to the single family living structures that society has sanctioned for acceptable dwelling spaces. There needs to be a revision of zoning and construction codes across the country, in order to solve the problem of being able to obtain affordable housing.

Good many people prefer to live in paradise without a dime and go hungry than move out of paradise You want to stay in paradise you pay their choice their decision
Not many people can afford to move. Moving costs + rent deposits (first, last, security). Others have social networks (family, friends) that allow them to survive by helping out with things like childcare. Some people have health issues and need to be near their doctors that are familiar with their cases. There are many reasons people cannot up and move. @@Landshark2020 Nope. And that's a huge problem in many counties in Florida. My county hasn't provided Section 8 vouchers for many years. when you call, you get an automated message and it says, "we have no vouchers at this time. Please do no leave a message. No vouchers are available." And then it hangs up on you. Section 8 is money from the federal government but it is implemented by the states on a local level. Unfortunately, Florida fails its citizens badly in this program. And in the counties that do have vouchers available, there is a problem right now because apartments (mostly corporate controlled) have ways to decline the vouchers based on their income requirements. I read that this is happening in Pinellas County, which includes St. Pete, Clearwater and Largo. So the apartment complexes have found a way to get around the vouchers. They won't accept them. So either you get that unfortunate message over the phone or you do get a voucher and you get rejected for an apartment. Yeah, it's mainly a failed program in Florida overall. So I am out of luck. Florida is harsh, man. we don't have much of a social safety net here. It's every man for himself here. And I am disabled, which further complicates things for me. Florida used to be such a nice place to live an affordable and the salaries in the jobs don't match other places the average job still doesn't pay that great these landlords that are increasing rents $600 should be stopped dead in their tracks that's price gouging just getting greedy cuz I know they can get away with it it's not inflation its crookedness.
The irony of thinking the same people who caused the problem are going to be the solution LOL... Investment properties need to be outlawed. Tell landlords to go get real jobs and stop preying on the working class.

But others that's not true at all. Florida is a very diverse state on multiple levels. The one divide that is widening rapidly, is the class/ monetary divide. The middle class is getting smaller and the rich are getting richer. And the rich don't want to share their stuff.

California problem has spread to south Florida 😔
Not just Florida. All of America is effected by this thanks to Biden.
This is everywhere ‼️the land of dreams has turned in to the land of night of nightmares!!!
We need to build affordable housing for people. The Federal Government has the money. It should be used for American people.
There to busy giving taxpayers money to foreign countries and illegals!
It's not going to happen in Florida, because every bodies just there on vacation.
I am grateful to this women who gets out and does something. Love her eords of whats really going in her community.
It’s happening in every city in every state
Detroit is still affordable. You can buy a house for $120k.
I was homeless while working. The hardest time in my life . My son was 7 year old . He was sleeping on the back of the car. I haven’t heal with this
I can’t afford $1,400 per month.
I am a Nurse which is supposed to be a middle income job and I can't afford that either. Luckily I have a house and all of my house bills with no house payment is about 800/ mo. Taxes 200,Home owner ins 150, electric 250, water 90, trash 35, internet 90. I am trying to bring down energy costs but not been successful.

@@MultiAnne36 You are fortunate. I’m so happy for you.
Tenants stop paying rent during the pandemic , now landlords have to off set their losses by raising rents very high period.
Homeless people serving you food in restaurants....
People are already camping in parks in the middle of neighborhoods. It's only a matter of a few years before people just start camping on others front lawns. The situation can get far more violent than it has been so far.
This is getting crazy where is the governor of florida rent is going up way too high and some of these apartments are not worth the price.
It’s ridiculous 2000 for a decent one bedroom in Florida
Looks like Florida is becoming like California where so many people are fleeing from.
@@robertmoore2049 it’s horrible
The governor is a Republican. You think they care about the poor or working class? Well they don't. Many people who voted for Trump found that out the hard way and still paying for it. Of course Democrats aren't a whole lot better but at least they make some effort to help the folks. Republicans just down right don't care.
Don't blame Desantis. This is Biden's doing. It is not just Florida. This is happening all over America.
My son and I both have income, he works and i get a check, we've been homeless, living in car, for almost 4 years, absolutely cannot afford the high cost of rent, and the application requirements are ridiculous, for instance, you've got to have renters history, and if you've owned a home and you don't have a history of renting youre out of luck, denied, and I believe alot of these ppl working at a desk you give your money too to process ur application, think its a scam, no way of knowing just hv to take their word for it. I had all the proof of income but got denied bc of my credit score. 😒 so ridiculous, if you can make it thru all the hurdles, the damn rent is so high, America is fixing to see alot more homeless ppl, think it cant happen to you, well i thought the same thing, think again.
Florida incomes are definitely not going up with the rent increases. So shouldn’t the incomes be legally tied to cost of living?
For the economy to function, it is required to have a work force. Buildings don't construct themselves, food doesn't walk to restaurants, all goods don't create themselves. Working class does that.
All the landlords getting even for what happen in 2020...
@@gussfish8670 I won't argue with that at all! At the time they were made to do NO evictions, Payment. When you have a business and you're taking anything in and everything is going out, that spells Bankruptcy... Just ask our government...
Thank GOD I managed to buy my house right before the SCAM demic took root
Congratulations and please do everything to protect your investment..... you made a wise decision and timing is everything. 🙏
This is so sad
Unregulated AirBnB are a big part of less rental properties and eye-bleeding rents.
Well done to the community workers making a difference.
The face of the new Americo
Disgusting!
Having a home is now a luxury.
I hate greedy f**s!
Hugs for all those struggling.
It's way out of control!
Government should build affordable housing for people, just not leave it to developers, investors or speculators.
Nobody question the system that based solely in greed?
Thanks to the democrats. Let's ruin California and spread it across America.
oh no don't do that! you'll hurt the landlord and oligarchs 'feewings'! Ha!
How about better wages
Gotta fight Disney though …priorities
This is happening nationwide.
The biggest question is how do we solve this ?
The cost of everything is going up, not just rent. Why is no one asking the Federal Reserve to stop printing money.
Because that has absolutely nothing to do with the plight of the working homeless? The problem is supply and demand. There's isn't enough affordable housing available and landlords ask for rent is what the market will bear. If there are 100 people making a modest wage and there's only 10 units available in their price range, 90 people will have trouble finding housing.
Blame the greedy property owners. It's their choice to raise the prices to where people can't afford housing now. I read about "people moving in", but that doesn't mean property prices have to be raised. It's human greed.
A property owner buys a condo to rent for say, $200K, paying about $600. a month mortgage, $125. a month insurance, $125. a month taxes PLUS income tax on the rent they receive, $125. a month on HOA fees plus pays water, sewer, trash, property maintenance for parking, lawn care etc (some HOA cover that).. say those costs comes to $1200 a month which is reasonable, rents for $1600 a month that's $400. a month for 'greedy' get rich profit which the landlord will pay 20% income tax on so down to $320. a month greedy profit. it will take 52 years to just break even on the original cost of the condo if rent is never raised.
Your right, and this same greed will cause their down fall. I hear a loud CRASH coming.
We need to vote everyone out!!!
this is because of the greed of landlords
You are so so silly, do you think landlords should pay their mortgages and so they can give free rent forever, of course, they would like to some of there money back, socialism doesn't work because you eventually run out of other peoples money
@@kathylarson8876 I don't know how in the hell you got socialism out of her comment
@@teebone2157 socialism is in part taking properties from people and giving to government for the masses, obviously, landlords losing their properties to the bank, over forced free rent to the masses, which will be taken over by the government, bolshevik

The Governor does Nothing
How can a person making under $15 n hour afford a $1400 bedroom apt, beside dat most homeless people have bad credit, and can't pass a background Chex
why isnt the government doing something, there should be rules
How terrible, that Florida does almost nothing to help people, even when they are working to do their best. How ruthless and selfish!
Um, California has numerous programs to "combat" homelessness and poverty is way worse in California than Florida, shut it!
@@shamrock32 Those programs are big, money wasting, fake and those who run them belong in jail ! No state should copy California, though it's true, Florida is blatantly meaner about it. But, Florida is the South. De Santos is an open Fascist. But he fits there. Newsom is a blow- dried ," New Democrat, of the Brown and Clinton mold, they are uninterested in common Americans, average citizens. Because they are internationalist sellouts. They say that homeless people can just die, leave, stay in shelters the rest of their lives, while the politicians loot the cities and state. Being from Los Angeles myself, I've been keeping track of all this horrid stuff. I watch videos about this, Cop Watch, Tony Vera, Invisible People. All showing the squalor, and chaos, like Soylent Green, remember that movie, anyone ? At the time, it didn't seem possible, having large scale homelessness like depicted in the movie. That was the early 70's, I was a teen when I saw it. Unlike some Northern European countries, Washington has gone the way of South America, the Philippines,Africa, and is simply going to let this crisis fester. A passport makes more sense than ever, now.
Well of course, the powers that be, like Joe Carollo, the City Member are openly proud of not housing homeless people. That is,the promotion of building affordable housing. Not free rent. Just reasonable rents. But, the money for housing is heaped up, diverted, and stolen, just like in California. Small wonder people are leaving the country, and not coming back.
Craig, I'm from California, born there, still there, but heading overseas. You are right, but see these evil narcissistic oligarchs do NOT care. They believe that the citizens are there,to serve THEM. And, many non- profits in reality,do profit off homeless people suffering. Housing is the LAST thing they want to see. What, lose their livestock ?? Thank you for understanding the situation, and caring about those who are trapped in homelessness. Getting out is difficult,by design ! HUD vouchers are nearly worthless. And HUD was cut by 80% in 1984, and hasn't been restored to this day !
Not true! Florida has a lot of assistance they just don't like it!
Big red flag indeed. Families getting kicked out every day.
I applied for a county job. Got offered the lowest salary rate despite of 10 years of experience and a degree.
Nope. I won’t be able to pay my rent for the rate they are offering
Is it possible to rent a room (if you don't have children) or get a roommate? County jobs offer good health insurance, pensions (sometimes). Just a thought. I worked for companies and when I got over 40, they made up reasons to eliminate my position to get rid of people who were getting older. You will be ok, stay positive and keep fighting for more because you deserve it 🙏
@@kellynorvell5714 Thank you, i appreciate that. I was just surprised about the rate, given that everything is going up. I'm sorry you went through that. I have friends that went through the same thing. It's not easy.
College degree means nothing anymore.
Breaks my heart
Your politicians are also investors. Keep voting against your best interests.
That is true. I live in Florida. Florida state legislators are invested in real estate. They are also invested in developers that build expensive condos. It's a conflict of interest. They have no incentive to help the poor and middle class in the state. They figure, "If they can't afford it, let them move out of the state. I don't care. I still have my investments." It's very crooked, but would you expect anything different from Florida state politicians? They've always been crooked sellouts. The sad part is that people who have lived here their whole lives and are born Floridians have to leave their own homestate because of this. Very few can pay these outrageous rent increases that have happened over the past few years here. Mainly, only well off folks from out of state can afford it.
If that is all you think it costs the landlords in expenses, think again.

Only beautiful and warm places will be able to get those kind of rents long term.
The irony of thinking the same people who caused the problem are going to be the solution LOL... Investment properties need to be outlawed. Tell landlords to go get real jobs and stop preying on the working class.
why dont these people just become roommates. split the bills
These people should consider moving other parts of the country. Florida is ridiculous.
I know what to do. Pack up, clean up and go to all government officials homes and camp out so they can see what they are doing with our tax dollars!!! BTW, WELCOME US WITH RESPECT!😪🌈😇
