The fault @ 21:38 for VIVIENNE DAVID on her stepping in the kitchen line was untrue. Would have loved to see it play out considering it was such a close game.
I'm looking to connect with my dad through pickleball and engineering today.
Vivian was playing out of her mind in game one…she keeps that up throughout the match and this is much closer.

That first game really made me pay attention. They both looked so strong the first half of game one. Unusual to see Johns & Waters so far on the back foot.

The player (man) jumps into the air to take a volley shot above the no-volley zone, and then his momentum carries him forward in front of the no-volley line, but also out of bounds so that his foot lands out of bounds, so he never actually steps down into the no-volley zone. Watch the shot and then the following replays for different angles of the shot. He never actually steps foot down into the no-volley zone, but he is clearly in the no-volley zone when he takes the shot, and clearly lands in front of the no-volley line as his momentum takes him there after the shot (which would be a foot fault). However, just as his momentum takes him in front of the no-volley line, it also takes him out of bounds so that his feet never land into the no-volley zone. This is okay? This isn't a foot fault? Seems like you could take shots frequently in the no volley zone as long as you jump forward and out of bounds when you take the shot. Is this allowed by the rules?
its only a foot fault if he's inside the kitchen. the out of bounds area is not considered the kitchen. this is like when players hit the ball behind the base line...

His left foot went into the kitchen, then “reestablished” contact with the court outside the kitchen, then he hit the overhead.

In my opinion: Ex-tennis players will eventually dominate Picketball and make the games more like tennis volleys as far as volleys are concerned.
