This is a video montage and spontaneous song offering dedicated to Layne Redmond
Playing 2 patterns taught in a 6 week Introductory Tambourine course and adding raw vocals on top.
Played with slight variations and breaks.
This series was dedicate to my late Frame drum Teacher and muse Layne Redmond.
Playing her Remo signature series lotus tambourine.
Layne studied the symbols on the frame drum which were older than the drums.
Many were lotuses which represented the sacred womb from which all of human life
comes through.
She spoke about the 5 sets of jingles representing the 5 phases of the moon.
birth, growth fruition, dissolution and death.
She spoke about the clash of metal as a cleansing and purifying sound.
