@@nomooonno because it hadn’t been inbounded yet. If that’s how the rule worked then Beal would be out of bounds since he’s touching the ball out of bounds, and Rockets get the ball. Then they’d inbound it but their inbounder would be out of bounds, and now we’re stuck in an infinite loop.

Green was playing good physical defense, and Beal just didn't like it. He shoved Green a couple of times before the play ended. That kind of started it. And yes as others have said he pulled a "Morris Special" and hit Green in the head with the ball as he was about to inbound it. Was Green playing really close on inbounds? Sure. It's called defense. I think the call was very appropriate. I am surprised Allen didn't try to trip Green.
