A Day in the Life: Managing 2 MALE CANE CORSO On Our Farm | Corso Bros Farm Life

- Welcome back to the Corso Bros farm life! In this video we go though Kenji and Ulysses' daily routine. You'll see behind the scenes of what it takes to keep these dogs in great shape, healthy and happy.
People are surprised at the rigorous routine of the dogs, but this is the only way when it comes to the Cane Corso breed. Because they are large working dogs, sticking to a strict routine is the best way in order for them to live a long and happy life.
Kenji (black) is 2.5 years old and Ulysses (grey) is just under 2 years old. They are brothers and have grown up together.
Thank you for being here and the recent support in the form of new subscribers and comments. We really appreciate the support!
We would love to hear from you in the comments on how you look after your dogs, and any tips and advice is welcome! And indeed, feel free to ask any questions 🐕

I’m up at the crack of dawn with my Cane Corso! She requires tons of work and she’s absolutely worth it!
@@gailobrien9380 you and me both. We didn’t realise what we signed up for, but realised when we did how it’s the best life and companionship! Good luck with it all, keep in touch 🫡
Beautiful boys, my two-year-old girl is fit and about 47 kilos, and we're off leash at the beach or dog park every day. She's a breeze to handle. I had never trained a dog before and so of course I've had to level up big time. I worked hard. I had been warned that I would not be able to handle her, she'd be vicious, unmanageable and would one day kill us in our beds. I guess there is still time to be killed in our bed, but it will be because the big lump crushed someone to death while cuddling in the morning.
QUESTION I'm curious as to whether other people Corso's are as dog-social as mine is? How is your girl with other dogs?
@@damaristighe3227 ah that’s great to hear. Glad you are loving the corso life. So I have one male now, before they were 2 boys. Makes have their own set of circumstances. My boy Ulysses is very friendly with humans but can be very excited when he sees other dogs and I end up avoiding any situations. Also it’s hard to know how other dogs react to such big dogs like corsos
@@CorsoBros Yesterday my girl was chased around the park by a tiny whippet. She loved it! She's so easy compared to other dogs I've had (Boxers, Dobermanns).
This is what you call dedication!❤
Thank you hehe tbh it’s Kenji and Ulysses’ world, I just live in it 😂
Absolutely, and it's mandatory.
Thank you for your care of these gorgeous dogs
Thank you for appreciating the hard work! They are my best friends and basically my sons haha!
Love these two boys ❤❤❤ got a small idea for the next video! How about showing us the other dog introduction process, that would be 🔥🔥
Thank you! Appreciate you. Yes that’s a great idea and actually one that others have commented too. I will work on it and deliver in the next video or so. 🙇🏻♂️

Me and my German Shepard are watching 👀 😊
Glad to have you here! Thanks for watching guys! Give your German Shepard a nose boop from us 🐕
Sure will, keep up the great work, gents 👏

I was already waiting for your next Video haha
Very wholesome routine. Are you living off the stuff your farm produces? Can you show us around on your Farm?
I cant back to go back to the countryside and leave the city behind.
Thank you! Glad you liked it! Appreciate the support. So not quite living off the farm. It’s a heck of a lot of work to run a full time farm. It’s more of a small holding and I’m slowly finding my footing. Moved out of the city a few years ago , best decision I’ve made. But I do miss the buzz! Are you based in the city?
@@CorsoBros Yes we moved in the city so my girlfriend can study there. I used to live at the North Sea in Germany haha
Can't wait to get back, the people are much more nicer and the cities have become really disgusting. In every park is much garbage and drug related stuff not so enjoyable when u are walking the dog
@@fortesfortunaadiuvat4727 yeah man this is the thing. All cities have become like this. It’s sad. Nature is great for the soul, and we need to spend more time there. I love the northern parts of Germany. Spent a lot of time in Germany although more in places like Hamburg, Cologne, Düsseldorf etc. what dog do you have?
@@CorsoBros Ah thats nice! As a german I do of course have a German Shepherd haha
@@fortesfortunaadiuvat4727 excellent. German shepherds are up there with my favourite dogs I must say. Is yours boy or girl and how old? What do you feed them?
You only get them for only a few years so might as well spoil them and make every day count.
@@anonimai exactly, well said!
Lovely dogs brother it really is my favourite breed. One question tho as im considering to get a cane corso puppy that will be 2 months old, how much should i feed him raw in terms of KGs?
Thanks for the support my friend. And a great question. It fully depends on the puppy. As they have different metabolism speed. But one thing I would say is be prepared to spend all your money on your dog and the food haha. What I did was start at around 500g / 700g when they were 3 to 4 months old and slowly increase it depending on how they look. It’s not an exact science but you should be able to slightly see the last 2 to 3 ribs, not poking through, just visible. When do you plan to get your pup? And where are you based? Do please keep me updated! Would love to hear how your journey goes 🐕🤝🏽
Hello I just adopted a cane Corso three years old he’s 120 pounds. He’s eating kibble right now, but I would like to feed him a more healthy diet, any suggestions? How many times a day should I feed him? Thank you for your time.
Hello Mike, thanks for taking the time to comment and congrats on your corso companion. You’ve got a best most loyal friend right there!! So I would try to avoid kibble if possible. Like humans, if you eat processed crap, you’re gonna feel like crap. I’d slowly introduce some raw stuff to his diet. When I say raw, you can give him literally raw meat. What I tend to do is blanch it in hot water just to reduce any potential microbes and parasites present on the meat if any. These dogs are designed to eat meat and animal product and best to stick closely to their natural diet. I feed them once a day. A very large meal. It helps with their body composition. Best thing to do is to slowly test different foods and see how his tummy reacts, if you want, I can send you a link to the raw food company based in the uk (if you’re based in the uk???). Thanks!
Thank you for getting back to me unfortunately I don’t live in the uk I’m in the States, I love your content thank you for the great advice. I’ll do just what you said to do I’ll let you know how it works out. Thank you so much once again.
@@MrMikeCanon more than a pleasure mate, glad to help and spread brotherhood and good vibes. Keep up the good work and do let me know how it goes 🫡. Just remember to slowly introduce the new diet, don’t give him raw meat only immediately! Just add a little piece of meat, some boiled sweet potato etc each meal. Get his tummy used to whole natural ingredients. Good luck!
Thanks once again
There has been research that suggests feeding once a day is healthier and more longer-lived.
I think their digestion is much better if they have some raw meat, even if they have good quality kibble.
QUESTION 1. I'm curious as to whether other people's Corso's are as dog-social as mine is? Mine's chill with dogs and relaxed with strangers (as long as they're not at the front door) but has no interest in making friends with outside people - as a Corso should be.
QUESTION2 How are the boys versus the girls? I have qualms about all that testosterone (I wouldn't neuter a dog) and whether it makes the boys more aggressive in general? (of course, I want another one) My husband says even though she's great, he doesn't want two such big dogs so I may have to move out :)
@@damaristighe3227 haha well I would say don’t make a decision that would mean you move out! Your family is most important. But dogs are family hehe. I would say take caution on deciding to have 2 large dogs, especially corsos. As you know they are highly territorial and want their own space. That’s not to say that it can’t be done. But with me I had to revoke Kenji to a family friend as I couldn’t cope with 2 males. They started to butt heads. Testosterone is also a big factor. I’m not a fan of neutering as it can change their hormones and they need testosterone for muscle composition and joint health and mental stability etc but it certainly makes them more dominant. Please keep in touch and let me know your progress! 🤘🏽
@@CorsoBros Thank you for your response, CorsoBro!
I thought that two adult males would be tough, even dangerous to have together. I'm not a neutering fan, for the same reasons. If you wait till they're grown it's not going to make much difference to their personality. I was persuaded by the vet to neuter my beautiful 3-year-old Dobermann rescue boy that I had a few years ago. Made no difference to his fighting tendencies and I was horrified and guilty that I'd done it. Never again.
What brand of food do you use for them?
Hey hey! The boys are on bella and duke, here is a link and you'll get 70% off your first food box. My boys have 40% bella and duke and 60% raw meat and sweet potatoes. Hope all goes well with your new pup!
Whats the benefit of the stinging nettles?
Great question. They are actually one of the most nutrient dense natural foods. Full of iron, potassium, zinc, magnesium, all sorts or vitamins and minerals and amino acids. Quite a miraculous plant. I also consume them daily!
How do you keep 2 intact males from marking all over your house?
@@Romig321 great question! The answer is I don’t anymore! Kenji has gone to a loving new home. I couldn’t cope anymore on my own. It was too much. Now Kenji is much happier and so is Ulysses because he gets all my attention now.
@@CorsoBros I notice they are both two which suggests you got them as pups around the same time. Did your boys get sibling syndrome and did two intact males fight?
@@damaristighe3227 yeah good question an observation. It was a really tough decision but I decided for kanji to go to a new home (a family friend who used to have corsos) and he’s really happy there. It’s allowed me to focus on Ulysses. Kenji was always more independent whereas Ulysses is way more attached to me so hence kenji was chosen to go to a new home. I couldn’t cope with 2 big males on my own. They are siblings from different litters and I got them both when they were young (3 months old) … kenji is older than Ulysses though. But yes they would start to fight a little, get in each others way, fight for dominance etc. and it was just too much to manage…
hiya do you have any suggestions on finding a trusted breeder
Hey! Yeah I mean it depends on where you live. The best working dog breeders are in Europe in places like Hungary, Romania, Serbia etc. some good breeders in US and Uk too. Working dogs are different to normal dogs. Much higher prey drive, guarding drive etc. check on Facebook and pets4homes too. Check the background of the breeder. Let me know how it goes!
Will do thanks for all the tips.@@CorsoBros
@@deadx-on-hight it’s a pleasure. Let me know how you get on 👍🏽💪🏼
My girl is from Sangue Magnifica (in Serbia, I think) x Itacor (Australian) lines. She's sensible, loving and chill with other dogs. If you check out Senza Tempo Cane Corso (US) channel there's a long video of the Senza Tempo breeder visiting Sangue Magnifica from 2-3 years ago. She spent a few days with the breeders and were actually loaned a male to sleep over in their hotel room (!) Excellent temperaments and beautiful dogs. Be prepared to wait for a good pup from a top breeder., look for temperament and structure rather than colour. Although she has a lot of imports from eastern Europe, I'm not sure I'd get a dog from Senza Tempo as she seems to be aiming at a private jet rather than caring properly for far too many dogs.
There are some breeders in the US to be avoided, some top kennels supply dogs to glamourous NBA players but (for e.g.) allegedly, Roughhouse are starting to get a bad rep for aggressive dogs. The US lines are very different from European dogs. The Dog Genome project did a 2017 research paper suggesting a large admixture of Neos, Rotties and even some Pitbull (crazy) in US lines. The European population tend to be more agile dogs that are "purer" Corso genetics with farm dog working characteristics. My girl herds and will catch and herd our escapee Boxer back to us. It was her idea and now will do it on command if the necessity arises. Recommend Ivy League Cane Corsos (she has a channel) and you can see how she raises and expertly works her dogs. Worldwide Cane Corso seem good temperament dogs with numerous evaluations of the structure and temperament of each pup from her litters on her channel.
Are these dogs good with a family with young children? They look like they could eat a child but I like the look of them
Yes they're great with children, give its a good dog, well trained and has come from a good breeder!
Adults are great - sensible and understand the situation, but I'd say that large, rambunctious puppies have to be carefully supervised due to the danger of knocking small children over. Corso's are very intuitive, catch on quickly to the atmosphere and understand kids are the centre of the circle of love. There should be no freelance Corsos, it's absolutely crucial to train and proof them to a high level. Impulse-control is king.
@@damaristighe3227 well said. Exactly this 👆🏽👆🏽👆🏽
f people would put in half the work and dedication that you do, 90% of the problems we have with dogs today would disappear. Both in terms of dog's health and behaviour. And it would be much more enjoyable for everyone who walks their dogs that constantly run into off leash dogs that their owners don't have under any control.
We are def moving into a time where I think a lot of breeds will be banned. A softer, weaker society combined with bad ownership of dogs.
Well said!! It’s the sad truth. I hope to inspire others and actually show what is needed if you want to get a big dog. Society is all over the place but glad to be making friends on here and I’m so glad for all the support from people like you. Even if it’s a comment! So thank you! Let’s hope no dogs have to be banned or put down because ultimately that’s what happens when the wrong people get these kind of dogs.
Mine's off-leash a lot and dog-social. The difference is that she has totally reliable recall.
If our societies are run like creches, they are full of infantilised, irresponsible adults.
