If only only the millions in the US and other "economically advanced" countries would see and understand this information instead of the corporate funded nonsense constantly telling us the continued destruction of life is necessary for our own well-being in the name of "growth." Regarding Vandana,let me tell you that she has stopped privatisation of water in INDIA with help of people and NGOs.Also she has got Coca Cola factory out from a South Indian village which was lowering the water table.She is propagating chemical free farming in many villages in India and much more..Just search about her work in organic farming in Dehradun in India and its success.Thanks.

Epistemology is the way of knowing truth. western epistemological mode is to COUNT & MEASURE. She covered that in the discussion of what constitutes growth vs what supports life. So the way u need to ascribe value to what she says is something she demonstrated is used against the sustenance of life (defining what has value based on #s). That said, even in western thought, there's QUANTITATIVE AND QUALITATIVE DATA. She has given us a qualitative presentation, of very high quality.

When other animal species strain the carrying capacity of their habitat, few have trouble calling them overpopulated. But when people do the SAME thing on a much larger scale, the excuses for continuing it never end. People are so obsessed with chasing money that they've forgotten what makes life itself possible and gives it enduring quality.
Money itself is not a resource, just an agent of human commerce, but growth addicts give money far more respect than its natural underpinnings.

It depends on where you are located. Local seeds will probably suit your environmental surcumstances best. Try and search for organic heirloom seeds, possibly in an organic supermarket, if available. Also there might be cirles for swapping seeds, probably online due to the pandemic. Best wishes for you and your plants!

Hey there... would it make more sense if she was tapping her head as she was programing herself, and perhaps other people listening, to at least start to think positively, focus of what they want to create. Perhaps the positive thinking/acting could help people in their individual healing and happiness which might overflow eventually to bigger things. But help heal our selfs first ? We've all been ill at some point, havn't we.

I've heard her speak so much, maybe this lecture is less organized than others I've heard. sounds like she had to cram a lot into 27 minutes. Everything isn't for everyone. and the reason the world is the way it is, is because there are more 'mikenothings,' than there are Vandana Shivas.
It is good and necessary to point out the tricks and manipulation that is going on in our society, but wouldn't be essential to give a hint to a creative solution? So that each of us can do something effectively for a change? Vandana, when will you so this step and tell people what they can do in their personal life, their behaviour and their attitude, so that this world can transform to a more real and true state of being? We are all trapped in this established fake reality. So what's the way?

Just because you're too limited to understand her, that doesn't make her "emotional". Normally I don't engage trolls but since people seem to agree with you, it bears saying. Unless we become Breathatarians, we are going to need food to do any of that. Everyone isn't supposed to be doing the same thing. This is what she's supposed to be doing. And She's put herself out there and gave up a lucrative career as a physicist to do it.
