    Well, I disagree. The Adagio is played in a painfully slow, passive way and devoid of any energy. It makes the music simplistically sentimental. I have heard many interpretations of this magnificent work but this Adagio is an all-time low.

      Yes. Slow doesn't need to be devoid of energy as I assume you would agree. Listen - for slow and sublime - to the Lindsay performance.
