Crazy he couldn’t see how attractive he actually was.
Actually..he said he knew he was beautiful to Dennis Rodman when Rodman told him so on Celebrity Big Brother. But he also said in later interviews he was bored and liked to change his look as part of his creative process. As long as HE thought he was beautiful..to hell with what anyone else thinks. Good advice for life, actually.
@@Nightbird. Maybe he thought he looked more beautiful after surgery as he already had a bunch of stuff done when he was on celebrity big brother. He also said something along the lines that ever since he was a kid that wasn’t the face he wanted or something like that I don’t quite remember. He also said that once he goes to heaven he wanted god to not recognise him, whatever that means.
@@txwtw Pete said a lot of crazy things. It's part of the creative process and wanting to entertain others as well as yourself. As a fellow artist from his generation..the "gender bender" generation..we were never happy with the way we looked. There was always something better we felt waiting for us. And on a deeper level..just like Pete..I also had a traumatic upbringing that really messes with your head and your sense of well being. When people are abused when younger..and if they are artists..they are always trying to reinvent themselves..in order to forget the past and wash themselves clean..so to speak. I loved Pete for his fearlessness and doing whatever he wanted. I was the same way back then..before the world and fucking awful people broke me down.

It's actually one of the things I most embrace about myself as a transwoman. I don't have much trouble passing as female, but I cherish knowing that I have this 'secret'. My husband of courses loves all those things about me :)
I love this outfit and so many others and I totally hear Petey. He's just being his true self and you become a force when you put that into your everyday image. THE COURAGE TO BE WHO YOU ARE. The more of us that do it, helps others to be fearless as well.
Pete Burns was a great man. We know this fact in 2022 but it wasn't easy to realize it in 1983.

@@atlantic_love please for the love of god shut the f*ck up. This is getting ridiculous, you're in the comments of every Pete Burns video I've seen so far. First of all there was no indication that Pete was anything other than a cis man, his last interview was recorded in 2016, by that time we already had quite a few out and proud trans celebrities, so he definitely knew what it meant to be transgender. And even if you were right, accusing someone of transphobia because they don't agree with your personal theory is gross. Honestly, it's super disrespectful that you keep correcting people and saying that he was trans even though he never expressed that himself. Makes it sound as if you feel you have a better understanding of his identity than he did.

What a horrible interviewer you can tell shes trying to influence Pete's answers at 0:37. Give me a break 🙄, I'm sick of how all these interviewers tried to make out Pete was this so called horrible person just because they were unable too early to the party to continually call attention and focus on his surgery rather than his music

Listening many of his interviews during 80s&90s I figured out that he didn"t like superstars seeing them as competition. He was making public jokes of Madonna, Boy George, later Britney Spears and Girls Aloud..

He has so funny teeth. Probably, Pete had complex with his appearance, but, honestly speaking, he emitted sexuality!
She had a complex with her appearance, it's called Body Dysmorphia. She was also transgender, but it wasn't something you could talk about back then, especially not in the rock circuit. Only the fools can't see that she used the rock star 'appearance' as a way to be herself.
