I wish I would have seen this before I visited my friends in Serbia. I could have shown them how much I appreciate their hospitality much more. But, everything turned out ok. Thanks for this great video
I am so happy to hear the best gift to bring to Serbia is coffee. Because America must have better coffee than Serbia. Hilo Sharks Coffee from the Big Island in Hawaii is the best American coffee. I will be a fantastic guest if I ever come to Belgrade.
Hi Krissy :) For the from part, you'll simply write "Od Krissy", or if you want to spell your name in Serbian, "od Krisi". For the "to" part you have two options: "za Milanovu majku" (za with accusative, for Milan's mother), or "Milanovoj majci" (dative, to Milan's mother).
That said, if you write it on the package you're sending, there is the established post-office norm: "Šalje: Krissy" (sends: Krissy), "Prima: Milanova majka" (receives: Milan's mother).
I don't think it's a common thing to give money - only for weddings and funerals; or uncles/aunts to their nephews and grandparents to their grandchildren.
Thank you!!!
I've met a Serbian here in Brazil and I'm so interested in their culture

Dear Magdalena, we are invited to a "svečano ručak povodom punoletstva". Which gift (money) is appropriate?
Sometimes as a guest I also bring money placed in a card.
