After many viewings, I can only conclude it's a river traffic beacon. Blue/red lights, never moves. These beacons indicate to river traffic channel location, aiming points, hazards, etc.
@@mikecurley8182 Maybe... It's in the exact same point of your view every time and has been for a long time. Maybe the blue shows for the same reason we get the"purple haze" effect in the loco cabs. Guess I'll just have to drive a couple days and find out for myself.
It's not saying Hy-rail vehicles lift the frog, it's warning Hy-rail vehicles about a structure CALLED a "lift frog." Where switches lead to a low-volume siding, railroads have installed these lift frogs. It's basically a switch that doesn't cut THROUGH the main line, it acts like a ramp and carries the switching vehicle OVER it. Otherwise, the ends of the gap in the main line would be worn down often for a switch that's barely used. Lift frogs are much lower maintenance. Hope that makes sense. @@michaelg.damons6229 There's mulitple training centers in the US. It's a heck of a lot easier to put things on trains and planes than trying to put that all on a interstate to go between Forts and training centers.
@@nathanjplatt It appears that the military doesn't have the number of tanks and vehicles it had during the Vietnam War. Because it was the troops that was moved where the equipment was.
