I have a question, if a footer was already poured without a vapor barrier could the top of the footer be coated with blue max to prevent rising damp?!
IT IS JUNK. I USED IT. IT PEELS AND DRIES THINNER THAN 1 COAT OF PAINT. 1 COAT OF SEMI-GLOSS LATEX PAINT IS THICKER THAN 3 HEAVY COATS OF THIS GARBAGE.
Does this work to waterproof pool permanently ?
NOPE . HAS NO BODY AND WILL PEEL. FALSE ADVERTISING, A VERY, VERY THIN PRODUCT.CAN NOT POSSIBLE HOLD UP TO THE HYDRO PRESSURE. AND STILL HAVE TO PUT ANOTHER PRODUCT TO PROTECT IT FROM THE SLIGHTEST UV RAYS. BETTER OFF BUYING A PRODUCT MADE SPECIFICALLY FOR POOLS AND A CEMENT PRODUCT FOR PATCHING THAT WORKS VERY FAST IN WET LEAKING CONDITIONS.
Could the Blue Max be applied to the outside of the wall of a berm home?
yep
you could even use the trowel grade in place of mortar to further fortify the wall. i'm no ames rep for that is deduced from cumulative ames information
Thanks Rebecca for your question. As Randolph commented Ames Blue Max trowel grade and regular grade will work amazingly as a waterproof vapor barrier on the exterior side of a berm home.
Can I paint the blue max with a drylok over it. I purchased the product and it's very sticky. When people come over it sticks to their clothes and hand when they learn on it. It doesn't come off the wall, but if painting it with drylok helps it from not being sticky anymore I will do it, but if it doesn't then I won't waste time and money. It's a great product by the way.
Thanks for your comment. Blue Max is highly adhesive and bonds and stabilizes deteriorating concrete, but as a side effect of that high-adhesion it is slightly tacky for a while after coating. Can this product be used on a flat roof made from concrete? I have standing water and heat in my country causes it to crack and leak water to the ceiling. Will applying this alone do the trick or do I still have to apply anything else before and after?

I’m disappointed. I watch all these videos of blue max. I had a foundation leak here on Staten Island New York. I sold this product to Custermer. Me n guys dig and dig by hand 7 feet down outside foundation . I drove for 2 hours to ace hardware store on victory /true value/ coastal / 5 do it best and garber. Drove all morning for 2 hours to all these stores no one had it. And shocked that ace hardware store re built and remodel . The worker s in there didn’t even here about bluemax. On Staten Island so I had to go old school tar - foundation liquid rubber and grace Ice shield. No one has this product in stock . I have about 5 more foundation jobs coming up . Yes I am a licensed contractor. I was really looking forward on using this blue max it would be nice if some one had it in stock I don’t get it , lol
If you order it first, it will ship to the nearest Ace (or possibly other location). I always get it in a few day.
Instead of complaining - go online and order it shipped to you.
And - call around to see if it's in stock Instead of driving 2 hrs. THAT'S your fault - no prior preparation.
