They can eat their usual food when feeding the baby bird. The female needs special food for birds which lay eggs to prevent become anemic.

Wisewolf surprised its a male. Usually male animal species are too aggressive towards babies.
Sia/SarahSadie23 I'm pretty sure that's only for mammals, male birds always feed their babies.
