So disappoint that you got the wrong tour guide. There are 3 different types of food regents. North, central, and south. Just talking about fish sauce alone. It’s so many different. All you need is the right tour guide that know our food culture in order to taste the authentic food of different areas 🙏
If you had followed the food show closely, you would have noticed that the presenters tried a variety of dishes representing the 3 regions of Vietnam. They even dined in a Hue-style restaurant. Generally, I find it an entertaining show in which a great deal of preparation was made by everyone involved, the tour guide included.

The higher class of Vietnam restaurants you eat , it’s not authentic. You should try street food is way better and more authentic Vietnamese food
