I feel like how they could've had him in Gamera: Rebirth was if they just had Gyaos appear as multiple small monsters for Gamera to fight in the first episode as a worm up to show off Gamera's power. Following that, Barugon would be Gamera's opponent instead of a large Gyaos.

Barugon is my favorite kaiju from the Gamera series, and that film was my introduction in to the franchise. There is a long story as to why I appreciate that film, and I plan on sharingb that some other time, simply because it will take too long now, and I have a feeling other viewers may have a similar story to share as well. This is an AWESOME video, Proff!! Thanks!!
Barugon deserves a return at some point, but I think it was more important for Gamera Rebirth to give Jiger, Zigra and Viras another shot (and bring back Gyaos and Guiron for marquee value). Barugon has been done right already and, at that, done with a degree of nuance that some of Gamera's other opponents can't boast. I'd rather see Barugon come back as an ally to Gamera than "just another evil monster" because Barugon wasn't really more evil than Gamera in his movie; he was just more immediately dangerous. In any case, if Seshita gets a season 2 or any other project, I doubt he'll ignore Barugon much longer
@@GladDestronger yeah, that's the complicated thing. Part of Gamera's charm has always been going it alone, but Barugon is just such a uniquely "designated villain" monster that I think if any monster should be his ally, it would be Barugon

And thus, he is the main kaiju deuteragonist. In season 2, the military would find Barugon as a baby fighting a baby Gyaos and Barugon would be brought to the military base and he would be put into the same cage the baby Gamera is in as he and Gamera would get along.
Viras was the right choice. He can play the role of "Big Bad" a lot better, in his own film as well as the Heisei manga. Maybe bring in Space Gyaos as a more evil or hardcore monster due to living in outer space. They can always try and use a monster that never made it to Daiei's 1972 Gamera film due to the bankruptcy of the company, the monster Garasharp. It would be awesome to use a monster that never made it to the big screen. Any thoughts from the Gamera and Kaiju fans?

Excellent video Professor! As you pointed out Daiei did a lot of imitating the Godzilla franchise if not others with their Gamera franchise. Though I can at least give it to them that the Gamera franchise actually did so fairly successfully. I just finished watched the entire Showa Era series which I've collected on Blu-ray from Arrow Video this month, and it's definitely great kaiju/giant monster genre work!!

Professor, you forgot the Gamera manga from 2003, which was published by a company called Kadokawa. The name of this manga is Gamera vs Barugon, and it has a connection to the world of the Gamera trilogy, and its events take place after the movie Attack of the Legion and before the events of the movie Revenge of the Iris, although its canon in the world of the trilogy is still unknown. So far......And this is the story in short, because it is long: After collecting the blood of the Mother Legion after the events of the second movie, Gamera faced off against another Gyaos. Meanwhile, an expedition accidentally awakens an ancient monster called Barugon deep in a cave. A failed model of the afterlife created by the Atlanteans before Gamera in order to eliminate Gyaos, the lizard-like monster grew at an insane speed and descended upon Tokyo. With the JSDF unable to harm the monster, Gamera enters the war, but instead finds himself frozen by the Barugon's icy breath. After the ice melts, their final confrontation takes place on top of a giant iceberg created by Barugon. Gamera defeated Barugon by shooting him with a plasma fireball with precise aim at Barugon's mouth, which led to Barugon falling from the iceberg to his death in the water below, and the story ends here. If you ask me for an opinion on this manga, I strongly advise you to read it because it is enjoyable and gives you the origin of the monsters. From the Showa era to the Gamera movie, but the best thing is the shape of the Barugon, meaning instead of a strange-shaped creature with a shape that brings disgust. No, the Barugon was given a completely new design and shape, but I will not spoil the shape for you, but what you need to know about the new design of the Barugon is that its shape has become more like an Ankylosaurus. It's a Showa-era lizard, but it's still a reptilian creature with four legs, but with red front eyes, blue skin, many spines and claws all of them are color is dark green، I believe that this design will appear in the second season with some design modifications, I hope you like this fact and be continue 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Yadda, yadda, not in Rebirth, I get it already. If it makes you feel any better, at least the most recent (at time of writing) Ultraman Blazar gave you a kaiju that bleeds rainbows, and we can probably look forward to him using Rainbow Slash regularly from now on. At least it's a reminder of Barugon's existence. :)
Ahhhh toku professor is this test gonna effect our grades because i mean it's barugon yeah he was the first monster gamera fought but still it's barugon he's not even cool i mean rainbows aren't cool right ultraman blazer
why jigar was chosen over barugon i will never know, all the other ones i can maybe see, but jiger, he looks like you told someone with no imagination, "ake a giant monster that doesnt look like godzilla or king kong"
Jiger may look like a generic triceratops monster, but she was pretty memorable for having a wide array of weird powers. She was also the only Showa kaiju to defeat Gamera twice, which even fan-favourites like Gyaos and Guiron couldn't do
Ok so if you want to find out the origin of barugon's roar let me tell you his roar was a reused gubila and twin tail roar I found this information on wikizilla if you want check it out
i do really hope that if theres a second season of rebirth that we see barugon, legion, iris and zenith, maybe some new kaiju or the repurposed ones like space gyoas and nightmare gamera, or aybe the one from the gamera 4 fan fil
Guess all the gamera monsters really hate turtles sad first plastic and now this man turtles really catch a break lets help them out in anyway we can by cleaning our world and helping teamsea like people out 😢 so that one day no turtle and anyother animal would be bullied by kaijus and plastic ever again #onlyyoucanmakeadifference this message was approved by gamera so saying no would lead to a gamera coming for you
Compared to the Godzilla (Showa) characters, most of Gamera's enemies (Showa) look rather silly. Barugon is cute. ❤ Gaos is probably the most dangerous of the bunch due to eating humans. 😮 Viras... I don't feel too strongly about him. He doesn't do much. 😕 Guiron is rather ridiculous. A walking sword? 😂 Jiger is interesting... 🤔 And Zigra looks very silly. 😅
The Franklin reference was perfect.

Why
@@supershituttp7425 Why what?
Can you do Gyaos next?
Barugons having ice powers but having a weakness to water is very confusing
It’s like saying cows are allergic to milk
I'm confident that Barugon won't return likely due to copyright issues with Toho's Baragon.
is there a good figure for barugon?
On 4:41
Damn you barushredder
At least some legacy endures. Barugon apparently influenced the powers and design of Shimo.
I wonder if Barugon's lack of appearances is connected to Toho's Baragon. Maybe Toho threatened Daiei with a lawsuit.
why jigar was chosen over barugon i will never know, all the other ones i can maybe see, but jiger, he looks like you told someone with no imagination, "ake a giant monster that doesnt look like godzilla or king kong"
Jiger may look like a generic triceratops monster, but she was pretty memorable for having a wide array of weird powers. She was also the only Showa kaiju to defeat Gamera twice, which even fan-favourites like Gyaos and Guiron couldn't do
the roar is reused from the ultraman 1966 kaiju gubila and return of ultraman kaiju twin talls
Aw man I miss it
4:41 bummer dude..
Technically. The strange gyaos is space gyaos (I think) cuz the silly 4 old people said something like “S-gyaos blah blah blah”
@@iforgor8271 I assumed the s stood for super, could mean anything since they don’t specify
If you think about it, barugon is kinda like gamera's equivalent of anguirus
Fun fact: Barugon is also known as "the German Godzilla".
Guess all the gamera monsters really hate turtles sad first plastic and now this man turtles really catch a break lets help them out in anyway we can by cleaning our world and helping teamsea like people out 😢 so that one day no turtle and anyother animal would be bullied by kaijus and plastic ever again
#onlyyoucanmakeadifference this message was approved by gamera so saying no would lead to a gamera coming for you
Barugon's roar sounds like it might've originated from some industrial engine or something like that.
4:40 we finally see one of the professor's feet!
Shows pretty good😊
I like to think that shin godzillas back lazers were inspired by barugon rainbow ray
Compared to the Godzilla (Showa) characters, most of Gamera's enemies (Showa) look rather silly.
Barugon is cute. ❤
Gaos is probably the most dangerous of the bunch due to eating humans. 😮
Viras... I don't feel too strongly about him. He doesn't do much. 😕
Guiron is rather ridiculous. A walking sword? 😂
Jiger is interesting... 🤔
And Zigra looks very silly. 😅
Poor barugon😢
Please do destrudos from ultraman z
