Hi i would like to know how many hours did you study per-day for lecturing, did it always start from 8.30am- 6.30pm (fulltime) and i heard there’s also a class on saturday? Can you elaborate more? Thankyou
And what kind of programme of UOL did you take, bcs on my programme pdf it’s written fulltime 08.30-11.30, 12-3, 3.30-06.30 Does that mean i must attend classes from 08.30-06.30 or choose one of them ? i’m going to attend uol too soon…

i’m pursuing a degree in data science and business analytics
so for uol, lectures will fall in either of the 3 sessions (830-1130, 12-3, 330-630, as you’ve mentioned)
but no, that does not mean u necessarily stay from 830-630 (unless you were able to scheduled 3 lectures in one day😳)
before school starts, there’ll be an SSCE (self-service class enrolment) to enrol for your respective units and choose the time slots!
so example, in y1, this was my schedule:
wed -> econs (330-630)
thu -> stats (830-1130) & bmgc (12-3)
fri -> math methods (830-1130)
usually, saturday classes are for when the lecturer may have rescheduled their lecture, or in my experience, it was an extra online lecture!

there are usually career talks held once per sem (if i’m not wrong) where u can network with companies!

hello :D i understand your worry. to my knowledge, there is a buddy programme in SIM where international students will be paired up student buddies to guide and help you settle in!
personally, i attended the freshman orientation and got to know many people form different courses. along the way, you may even make friends in your lectures!

i’d suggest u sign up for the orientation to meet your peers that you may be taking the same classes w🥳
also, when school starts, take it a day at a time!
sometimes, the lecturers expect u to have prior knowledge of the topic, but if you don’t, it’s okay! use the tutorial qns and past yr papers for practice! do a little bit everyday and try to keep up with the lectures! :))

once you’ve paid to UOL, you will be given access to something called the VLE (virtual learning environment?) where UOL lecturers will provide tutorial qns and recent past year papers…
also, once you’ve enrolled for your classes, your lecturers may also upload some past year papers on SIMConnect.

hello!! for SIM-UOL, you should have received an appointment date for your Self-Service Class Enrolment (SSCE) on SIMConnect for you to enrol and schedule your classes.
so u may want to check your email / SIMConnect ya!
Is it hard to pass in UOL? since everyone told that UOL 100% exam is too difficult to graduate
UOL 100% exam based. If you are ready to study and spent enough time to learn and go through all papers, you'll be fine

hello! joining sim-uol soon this year.. can i know roughly how many classes to attend per week/each day & what laptop u’d recommend??

soo each year u have to take up 4 mods!
nearing the start of the sem, there will nvr an online exercise to pick ur mods and schedule.
so for me, for most weeks, i only had to go to campus for 3-4 days a week. i had 4 3-hour lectures and 1 tutorial (in alternate weeks)
however, i did have a lecturer who conducted extra online classes on some saturdays😂🫠
there may also be some lecturers that cancel and reschedule their classes, so do take note of that too!
regarding laptop, a laptop that has windows 7 and above OR mac OS x 10.15 or higher ( this was the req for our online exam platform this yr )
i personally use the macbook pro 2022. i mostly used my laptop to review/annotate notes and assignments and for my online finals.
soo unless u are in comp sci course, i’d say any laptop brand would still serve u well:)

@@Batemans129 personally, i did not have ANY knowledge on coding when i enrolled into my course😅
for the first year, the modules are mainly more on math and econs. mainly theory.
so i’ve been signing up for courses to learn about coding this past summer😬
