The battery bank doubled up as ballast on these old boats. The detail in this model is fantastic. You should get some 3D printing files for German WW2 U boat crewmen to really bring this model to life.
The Submariner in me REALLY wants to build this! The Homeowner in me says that there’s no room for it. Again, I get to live through you, Wayne! I'm really enjoying your videos on this build. I think if you look closely, you'll see that the bulkhead door you installed, goes to the Bunkroom, not the Head(term used on Navy ships for the bathroom). It would be neat to glue that in an open position. Its very accurate for the red LED to be used in the bunkroom. On a submarine underway, the red light is on, except during drills and field day cleaning.
Best section so far. Imagine living w/ 25 minimum other sailor's, amongst the diesel fuel, battery acid and sweat smell for months. Ver. XXII had up to 57 crew members lol.

I just ordered mine a few days ago from the American link you have in your description section of the video, very excited to get to work on it although I went with the 8 packs a month option where it looks like you went 4? Anyways I’m planning on repainting some areas on mine and still doing my live streams for mine
Its looking GREAT I can understand why you want that kit. you cannot get that kind of details on REVEL ,MONOGRAM so on and so forth. they use the worst MADE IN CHINA PLASTIC just do the outer hall and paint it DONE and its too small. and GERMENY WORLD WAR II they know to make SUBS and BATTLESHIPS and TANKS , FIGHERS, BOMBERS and the list goes on forever then some one makes a great U96 SUB KIT and put FULL DETIALS and you get to build it and see how they made it. and your going WOW THIS IS FANTASTIC and no one will make the same SUB in that same scale at that LEVEL of HIGH DETAIL you think JAPAN can do it? only on PERFECT GRADE 1/60 SCALE GUNDAM KITS and TAMIYA how great they are cannot come close of what your building. my LEGO GHOSTBUSTERS AFTERLIFE ECTO-1 1/8 SCALE #10,274 w/2,352 PARTS and I have ordered a lot of missing parts PACK 9 ,10,11 ALL GOT MISSING PARTS ALL WHATS LEFT TO OPEN IS PACK 12 AND PACK 12. Due to the missing parts I got chunks to hold on to. I got one order for sticker sheet its missing STICKER #12 they are not going to give me one sticker too complicated to cut out one sticker and what to do about the rest of that sticker sheet? and end up with a room full of sticker sheets that is not good so LEGO will send me a ENTIRE STICKER SHEET. that is fine. I hate using STICKERS they never o on the correct spot. its not like water slide decals and move it to the spot that is correct. when the STICKER'S GLUE GOES BAD OVER TIME THE STICKER FALLS OFF LEGO got the TECH to do PRINTING PARTS they make all the blank parts no problem there. LEGO can do PRINTING I seen good parts with good printing. LEGO gets LAZY and PRINT OUT BILLIONS OF STICKER SHEET to CUT DOWN on SPENDING it DRIVES ME UP THE BLOODY WALL. every one is yelling about that STUPID STICKER SHEETS it can get lost it can get damanged and it can fall off in time. adn nover in the right spot. and waste a lot of time. What IS LEGO THINKING? STICKERS what is this going back to grade school like 1ST GRADE? LEGO GIVE ME A BREAK its like putting stickers on my lunch box in 1ST GRADE GEEEEEEEZE I cannot order ECTO-1 from FAN HOME 1) it cost too much and 2nd the BIG ONE RETIRED KIT NO LONGER SOLD. including USS ENTERPRISE NCC 1701-D that too RETIRED STAR TREK PICARD IS OVER and DONE WITH and so is FANHOME.
The bog is a dangerous weapon on a u-boat😂a German Captain sunk his own sub😂by operating the flush himself 😂 instead of getting the specialist to do it 😂💩💩💩💩

I love the tiny details in this model, the wash basin, toilet etc, they really help to add life to the model!
