Have you tried Selaco? It's very good as well. Has some elements from F.E.A.R such as the communication between enemies and tactics. I cannot wait for that game, the demo was excellent.

What does it mean “unreal look”? Unreal is just the engine, you can use any assets and techniques to make it look anyhow. What’s wrong with “unreal games” and their optimization? Unreal Engine is the only option that allows small developers to use tripleA-like tools without spending a lot for development. Of course you should not expect a perfect optimization from a small developer, but the fact that they choose unreal means this game will be at least not that bad from the technical perspective. And speaking about possible achievements with Unreal: Gears 5, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Back 4 Blood, Borderlands 3, Bright memory infinite, Ghostrunner, Ghostwrite Tokyo, Chernobylite. Do any of these games look bad? Or poorly optimized? Or have identical “Unreal look”? Do you really think that, for example, Kena, which is almost a cgi disney cartoon and Life is strange 2 look the same with this look of unreal engine? Or maybe Borderlands 3 and Godfall have something in common in their look? Stop blaming Unreal, Unreal gives infinite abilities for no price helping to make the okay games with all the basic visual techniques right out of the box and it is the only engine that does it

I can't really name any unreal Engine 4 games that don't run bad consider how they look. This game's levels are pretty much small spaces with mostly flat surfaces and very little geometry, so if this was any other engine, I wouldn't be seeing anything below 200fps on my harware.
When it comes to the Unreal engine look, it's mostly about how the lighting looks. It looks identical in every single UE4 game.
EDIT: Also, Cryengine gives you similar tools and is better optimized, so no, UE is not "the only option that allows small developers to use tripleA-like tools without spending a lot for development".

@@doompenguin7453 Unreal Engine 4 games that don't run bad consider how they look: Gears 5, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Back4Blood, Bright Memory Infinite, Ghostrunner, is that enough? I can name more: Life is Strange 2, Life is Strange True Colors, Borderlands 3, Chernobylite. Speaking of this game, there is a small development studio that are using basic tools of Unreal Engine, they do not implement custom shaders and so on, so the fact that games like this, or, for example, Industria even exist is just because Unreal Engine is so great, they just couldn't do it with any other engine coding some deeper stuff, as well as they couldn't use Unreal same fluently as developers of Gears 5 can as an example.
Speaking about lighning - it's just not true, games in Unreal Engine use a variety of lighning systems and you can implement any system that you like. For example, Gears 5 use pre-calculated GI in combination with screen space ray tracing GI while other games could rely on Voxel GI or even a complitley static solutions. Volumetric usage can also be different in different games, PBR usage as well, you can use materials from Quixel, but some games use their own custom materials that are more detailed than quixel or less detailed.
And yes, CryEngine is not the option since there are less custom users content for cryengine, cryengine is not as technically advanced as Unreal Engine 5 and a lot of technologies are harder to implement to CryEngine than to Unreal Engine 4, while still, at least your CPU utilization in stock Unreal is better. I am quite sure that for GPU it's true as well. So if you know nothing about engines and about lighning techniques, so what's the point of defending that? Do you think that lighning in Kena and Gears 5 is the same? Or in Life is Strange and Ghostwire Tokio? Or Days Gone and Borderlands 3? Do you relly think that it's the same?

@@crabit These games all look worse than something like DOOM Eternal and run worse, so you're just proving my point that UE4 games just run bad compared to properly optimized games.
When it comes to the UE4 look, I don't really want to discuss it. The fact that I can look at a game and instantly recognise that it's an Unreal Engine game is enough for me to say that they have a very distinct look(which makes sense since they use the same engine).
Anyway, objectively, UE4 don't run that well, even if you consider how they look. Other engines can pack a lot more detail in a scene while still looking just as good or better than UE4, but the ease of use of UE4 makes it popular with game devs.

@@doompenguin7453 All? Does DOOM have fully ray traced GI as Ghostwire Tokyo? Does DOOm have SSRTGI and PBR materials quality as in Gears 5? No, DOOM is a nice game from technical perspective, but if you say that all of these Unreal Engine games look worse means you have no idea about realtime graphics at all. And no, it doesn't matter what engine game uses, what you can actually see is graphics techniques. For example Rage 2 uses a lot of assets and lighning methods from DOOM since it is developed in team with id Software, but it doesn't use id tech, it's just reuse of assets and techniques. UE4 game as well as cry engine or any other game can be better or worst optimized, but there are games on Unreal that are doing a very good job from that perspective. But games that are doing great are mostly made by big developers so in this game there is nothing to do with engine, this game is just a budjet product and that's it
