DiEM25 launches new political party in Germany: MERA25 - with Julijana Zita and Yanis Varoufakis

- The MERA25 family is expanding.
Last month, on November 13, we launched MERA25 in Germany, our German political party. In Greece, our sister party MERA25 is already in parliament.
Now MERA25 also exists in Germany. Because there is no conflict between Greeks and Germans, but a conflict between people at the top and at the bottom.
On one side, people in Germany, Greece and other countries who suffer from injustice and irresponsibility. And on the other, those who profit from injustice and irresponsibility.
MERA25 stands against exploitation, against irresponsibility and against the rule of the few. MERA25 is a new, rebellious party that will run in state and federal elections, and of course in the next European elections!

Ich sehe Yianis Varoufakis auf der Bühne und den Weltgeist vorbei reiten.
Also die Aussage, dass Eltern Kitas brauchen um Zeit zu haben bei Amazon einkaufen zu können, wirkte jetzt doch ein wenig konstruiert. Vielleicht beim nächsten mal wenn die Punkte vorgestellt werden, mit etwas passenderem ersetzen.
It's a missed opportunity to not have shown a more diverse group of organizers in the intro. Of course, we're with you, and your ideas, but people still need to see themselves represented. You have to do both.
Are there any plans to do this in the Netherlands? Because VOLT is really catching on, and folks will vote for them in masses I think. And I do not trust them at all.

Actively diminishing the chances of said projects to have any amount of impact. 50+ minutes on stage. More than all the people directly involved in this project, combined.
Your positions are known. They exist in hundreds of videos and are written in thousands upon thousands of pages. I can not fathom how knowing more about the ones behind "MERA25 - DiEM25 in Deutschland", was of lesser importance.
I swear this "vile" comes from a very good, yet very frustrated, place.

Apparently you've failed to observe that political movements need spokespeople around whose ideas they can gather and coordinate. Sure, it would be great if new voices emerged from MERA25 in Germany, but in the meantime, it's a good thing for Yanis to be on the scene.

I'm aware. My concern comes directly from ΜέΡΑ25's course in Greece. After more than 2 years in parliament, most people still call it "Varoufakis's party".
Yanis himself has said he doesn't want his face to be the driving force of the movement. Yet he is the only member of the parliamentarian team in Greece, that appears on any major piece of content. Chomski and Žižek have also been spokespeople, without having such a dominant presence. I might be too harsh on Yanis. I agree it could mostly be coming out of necessity.
It was a grand achievement of ΜέΡΑ to barely make it into the Greek Parliament. And this was done with the luxury of having Yanis as General Secretary, in a country where the Communist Party has been securing seats in parliament for ages.
This project seems exponentially more ambitious and, in my humble opinion, it is of great urgency for everyone who would never bother going "Ins Kino" on the 13th of November, to at least understand that this is much bigger than "Varoufakis's party".
I will be delighted, if it turns out I am completely wrong.
