There was Jetson Thor announcement, which is coming in 2025. Probably new generation of lower tier SoMs with it. But it's clear that Jetson is not a money maker for Nvidia :) if you look at their earnings, it's all from GPUs for Cloud.
Hi, I'm a strength and conditioning coach, and I'm looking at software for movement analysis and calculations and whatnot. I'm relatively new to all this, but this seems like a great challenge to make a dedicated machine for all things strength and movement analysis for my clients. Would something like this allow me to build a machine that can track and analyse athletes?
I think so. There will be enough processing power in something like Jetson Orin Nano for this. You will likely be running some sort of pose estimation model and some more.
I still don't understand that SOM part? Can I start with it like it is cheaper so can I save my money by starting to build the robot with it? Or should I buy the developer kit first? I have no experiences with jetsons though...
You can't use SoM directly - unless you have a suitable carrier board for it :) dev kit is SoM + carrier board. For hobby stuff, you just get a dev kit (official or third party one, third party ones might be cheaper or have extra capabilities). For production, you first develop software / test things with a dev kit, while creating a custom carrier board for the SoM that will be in your product.

I can't say it 100% relieved my confusion, but it did provide a lot of food for thought! ty
Glad it helped!
Can someone please build the butterbot ?
In what application do you lose by not having NVLDA in the Orin Nano development kit like the Orin Nano NX has?

My boy Biggie B Sanders always been on point
Oookay, probably wrong video lol?
The newest jetson was the agx orin launched 2 years back. Looks like nvidia is no longer interested in the jetsons?

Can i make a missile with jetson nano?
There are many things you can do, and quite a bit of things that you should do.
Good info. Thanks.

I think they’re great devices.
