- "A titan of the violin"-Jazz Review
"What's certain is that Britos is an artist who clearly went through the line twice when they were handing out talent."-Miami New Times
There is no greater proof of the universality of jazz and classical music than the career and life work of violinist Federico Britos. This titan of the violin, who is as equally adept within the world of jazz music as he is in the classical realm, has built a solid reputation worldwide. In the span of his career, he has performed with almost all the legends: Dizzy Gillespie, Dexter Gordon, Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole, Woody Herman and Benny Goodman, to name a few. Grammy winner Paquito d'Rivera credits Britos with introducing bossa nova in Cuba, and he has since gained recognition as one of the most versatile and talented instrumentalists of his generation. He has won four Grammy awards and collaborated on countless albums.
Um genio do violino popular...fantastico Federico! Me faz lembrar Fafá Lemos, um outro gigante do violino popular que atuou na música brasileira, algumas décadas atras.
Magnificent music, the violin sounds so vocal like.
Ése violinista es uruguayo !!!
