why is there apple in the hedgehog? I am confident that it's supposed to be onions. what recipe did you find 1with apples vs. 50 with onions and went with apple? shirahiko is getting her german citizenship revoked
How about Pretzel sticks? I have never had a real metigel before, just the regular Mettbrötchen a few times a week. But i mostly see the mettigel with pretzel sticks. Maybe that is a norther german thing.
A glass lid for your pan is top-notch for sunny-side. Keep it medium-heat or slightly lower, plenty of oil (butter please!) cover it, and watch it. Watch the whites. The second the white cooks up the sides of the yolk? Pull it. DONE. The temperature is the only tricky part, you have to get used to your stove. Too high, and too crispy. Too low, and the moisture in the egg doesn't boil at all and it cooks really dense. Trial/error.
Onions relase a gas similar to sulfur when cut that irritates the eyes, that's why you cry. Yes plastic wrap around the face "works", but swim goggles are more practical
NGL, the vtuber model with the actual hands is a cool visual. Add another camera view, and they could have a legit cooking show. It's probably the most impressive effect since Ksons boob window.
I learned how to really poach an egg today :o thank you . I had my own method but as you said , it was always be so messy so i never wanted to do it xD
My gf when she does sunny side up eggs after a moment of cooking to where the bottom is cooked she adds water and steams the eggs the rest of the way. It makes them fluff up like a poached egg, but is still sunny side up.
Another thing you can do is tilt the pan, grab some of the hot oil with a spoon (don't do it on a nonestick pan) and pour the hot oil on the uncooked whites. It will cook it while leaving the yolk alone. Or if you are into fire, you can flame the egg whites with a torch
Here are things to not cry while cutting onions you can do BEFORE resorting to clingwrapping your face: - Very sharp knife = less cell bruising and cleaner cutting = less of the aggressive stuff getting out - Don´t bend over the onion while cutting it (for obvious reasons). A work surface at the proper hight for you helps here. - Breathe through your mouth while cutting. Sounds weird, I know. But for me it works almost perfectly. I think maybe cause you breathe in the volatile components before they reach your nose and eyes. Or its placebo, idk 😂
I'm used to take a big sip of water and keep it in my mouth while cutting the onion. Sounds silly, but works well for me. My mom's used to cut onions at an open window.
Apples in a Mettigel? Its supposed to be onions! And dont put salt and pepper inside just place a salt and pepper shaker next to it so everyone can have as much as they want when they put it on the bread
You don't need to for home cooking, but if you ever wanted to dice onions evenly very finely, you almost certainly need to cut them horizontally. If you don't, you end up with uneven pieces that you will never get as small as with he horizontal cuts.
@@MitoDrium J. Kenji Lopez-Alt has a video on onion cutting. For dicing, you want to cut from the surface of the onion towards a point that is slightly below your cutting surface at the middle of your onion. That produces the most even distribution of parts with the least amount of cuts.
@@jasonkeith2832 Ok. How did you never make sunny side up eggs? You want food, there is no prepared food yet => You make eggs. Sunny side up is literally just "egg in a pan". It doesn't go simpler.
I've been making sunny-side up eggs since I was eight. So, it's kind of amusing that Giri never had until now. Then, again, I think she was raised on a more East or Southeast Asian diet. Not sure if they make sunny-side up, there, since I've never been there, and never seen any in any food videos I've seen over there.
One thing I've always wondered about crushing garlic to get the peel off is whether you lose a bunch of flavour from smashing out all that tasty garlic juice. I tend to cut the root 99% off and peel by pulling the root so as to keep the garlic as intact as possible before cutting, which works, but takes longer by a bit. Am I wasting my time?
Garlic contains an enzyme called alliinase, that converts into allicin when bruised or cut, which is what you want. You want to crush the garlic, it'll add flavour rather than lose it.

for sunny side up eggs i recommend transferring it to a toaster oven to finish cooking the top egg white section, that way it finishes up a lot faster and you can really control how cooked your yolk is
Culinary school taught me thats a basted egg since fully set eggwhite covers the yolk which will propably happen in a toaster oven, sunny side up has to have the yolk visible. I know its pedantic.
The Japanese school of culinary has a different technique - once the egg is halfway cooked, drop a teaspoon of water into the hot pan and immediately cover the pan with a lid. The ensuing steam will help to cook the top surface of the egg. Granted, you don't do this if your pan has excessive oil pooling in it. You're going to start a fire that way. Also one reason Japanese style eggs don't use much oil in the first place.
What do you mean. I put Maggi on atleast one food per week. Hardboiled eggs with maggi. Almost every soup with maggi. As seasoning to marinade chicken. I use it so often. Next to pepper, salt and paprika it is my most used spice. Those are almost all the spices i use.

Mett (the raw pork in Germany) is regulated and tested. You don’t get food poisoning simply because it’s raw, but rather due to unwanted bacteria, which are not supposed to be in the Mett you can buy in stores here.
