Karina showing the gift of prophecy with her "Smoke is all around us."
this was my first thought as well lmao
Yeah, it's been wild. Stay safe everyone. 💚
It didn't even click that this was before the smoke.
@@moonsnakesheddingskinI never even thought about it, has the east coast not been dealing with the yearly wildfires? Is that why the reaction from new Yorkers has been so visceral, this is their first year?
@@Ezekiel_Allium Essentially, yeah. There are always some fires, but not like this and not with the smoke being blown directly into cities.
Julia with the absolutely savage line, perfectly timed. "Because we don't have to hear your bitchin'" slayed.
20:04 I never expected Julia to say this- that was cold Im CRYING
julia more like j owned ya
I still can't breathe 😭😭 poor Nathan is dead
Yeah ODYOFYOXHOXG
I can't believe they milked so much of Nathan's piss that he died like Capt. Kirk in every episode of Star Trek
Just to stop his bitchin’
👀
words cannot express how much i loathe this vile string of words you put together.
@@mackenziedesire7515 glad I could be of service!
@@leopoldbloom4296 I'm glad you understood that as the compliment I intended
Karina somehow manages to make "No and" a viable improv strategy
Karina’s literally permanently altered my sense of humour with this. I do this irl now out of instinct. It’s just so unbelievably funny
Okay but Holes is actually a wonderful story worth experiencing
@@emisformaker How did I make it this far into my life without realizing that Holes and Wayside School were written by the same author?
I read it out of order in pieces over the course of a month. Every time my parents took me to a grocery store with them I’d make a beeline for the book section of Walmart or whatever and flip to a random page and go
And it's one of the best book to movie adaptations.
@@emisformakerThere is also a psuedo sequel where iirc You go to Camp Greenwood where 0 is the ruler?
@@GaybrohamStinkton There's another sequel that follows Armpit after the book
The gang answering the thought experiments with one word answers gave me the same vibe of when glad0s tries to defeat whitley by asking him a paradox and it doesn't work cause he's to dumb to understand
this stream's got everything: sci-fi, the movie/book "holes", philosophy, swamp, cow, the canonical drawfee condemnation of Swampert, swamp, the immaculate conception of hatsune miku, trans rigs, swamp, jacob doubting chat's evaluation of the movie/book "holes", and other incredible moments
“The Immaculate Conception of Hatsune Miku” sounds like the title of one of those Miku songs produced by Vocaloid producer cosmo@bosouP
I know it's a comedy art channel and they have a lot of different interests, but it's still wild to me how many different topics they end up covering in a single stream/video.
@@ImAlsoMerobiba um actually, some of drawfee are actually wise-cracking sketch comedians
Did you remember swamp?
Don't forget about swamp.
You forgot to mention BTS and Swamp
The movie Holes is insane. It’s like a fairly normal guys being dudes movie except they sandwiched the most beautiful, impactful love story of all time in the middle of it
I have zero recollection of the love story in Holes (unless it's Kate and Sam) .I read tbe book years ago and haven't touched the movie😂
@@unclewiley1986 Stanley x Onion
@@unclewiley1986 it’s definitely Kate and Sam…or possibly the Romani man and his pig? Could be either one.
What is normal and “guys being dudes” about juvenile delinquents on a desert summer camp where they dig holes and eat onions to break an ancient Romani curse??
I just can’t get over them trying to tell me that obvious bearded dragons are supposed to be incredibly deadly. A bearded dragon couldn’t kill you if you let it
I was a school librarian for a few years, and I read Holes to about 5 classes one year. It is truly an amazing childrens' novel yet still enjoyable as an adult. The movie is one of the perfect book to movie adaptation IMO
They actually had Louis Sachar help out with the script and movie, so I’m sure that helped ^_^
Happy birthday Jacob!!! It's June 9th today! And I didn't see any wishes in the comments yet, so I thought I'd do it!
Hee hoo 6/9
of course his ass is a gemini 🙄
i am so legitimately happy that the soundboard has made a return
edit: just reaced where they suggest car games for the trans rigs stream. cant wait for everyone to punch each other for jeep beeps, slug bugs, and yellow cars
I definitely feel pride and proudjudice.
i read this as pride and proud-juice
"I'll kiss Kate Barlow right now!"
"I wish you would, you dumb motherf-cker!"
This may be the hardest Jacob has ever been owned, both by himself and Karina.
Absolutely incredible moment, no notes
I’m gonna guess that that’s a reference to holes (a movie that i haven’t seen since i didn’t have object permanence)
@@mynameiskrysta Short ver: in the movie Holes, Kate Barlow kisses people she kills
That moment was amazing, he unknowingly set himself up so perfectly

I love the soundboard an unreasonable amount

Re: donkey scenario
The donkey would (eventually) see a difference in lighting. The sun will cast a shadow towards the donkey from one, away on the other. The donkey will likely want to stand in the shade as opposed to not, and therefore choose the bale with a shady side presented.
So, "the Sunward bale"
If we assume that the donkey is ready to eat, why would the donkey wait until there is a noticeable shift in lighting?
@@austinsharrett9073 it is just Zeno's paradox but with decisions instead of physics. And it is just as stupid.
@@austinsharrett9073Why wouldn't he? There's no rush to eat. Is it high noon? There's already more shadow on one than the other
I would love to hear the crew’s thoughts on how they would defeat the infamous immortal, hyper-intelligent snail. I know it’s not really a thought experiment, but it’s fun to think about nonetheless.
Can't die, but I can. So I only need to get the fuck away from me for my lifetime. So whatever method can jettison it into the sun will do fine. Or get it into space in general
Jacob throughout this stream: Everything I've learned about Holes, I've learned against my will.
40:30 incredible moment, Jacob unknowingly perfectly collaborating with Karina to destroy him
1:30:20 i am so fricking happy nathan and karina laughed at what i said here. i will now send this vod to all my friends to brag lmao
Jacob embodying judging a book by its cover is sending me
Oh shit happy birthday Jacob Drawfee!!
Thank you for being loopy and crazy that I can play you in the background over and over again. Love the content. And seeing far your talent has grown and changed over the years.
Buridan's Ass is probably my favourite thought experiement. It helps me explain how I sometimes struggle to make trivial decisions, even if the outcome doesn't matter, the fact that there's not enough of a difference between the options is what makes it hard to decide.
i've never been more confused
Jacob definitely has a way with words, the "old briefcase full of mud" bit is hysterical
Thomas Riker does come back in DS9. They trick the audience into thinking he's William Riker, but then he tears off his sideburns, revealing that his beard is actually a goatee (the sign of an evil duplicate in the Star Trek universe).
I gasped when Julia mentioned Dealing With Dragons because I loved those books when I was a kid and I've never heard anyone else talk about them. They're still on my bookcase with a bunch of other YA I haven't read in over a decade lol
Edit: Karina with the incredible follow up mention of The Thief and The Cobbler! I'm sad the original movie got turned into a generic animated kids movie, but I recommend the fan made edit with the original storyboards and stuff
not me scream laughing at Julia's "so anyways here's wall wall" and then liking the video
5:40 Nathan was the first to detect the wildfire smoke in New York.
i love to hear the great minds of our generation debating the thought experiments of our time, how lucky we all are
for 16:08 scenario… to get like scientific with it, would her eyes have ever actually developed the necessary cones to be able to see color? Usually those progressively develop throughout childhood (hence why a lot of baby toys are very bright, saturated colors!) so if she was never introduced to any color whatsoever those cones would be incredibly weak. If anyone has more to add please do so! I’m by no means an expert, just a prior Biology and Psychology major 🤪.
Is that why baby toys are so bright? Huh
this pride month, Jacob has come out as liking swamp holes
Experiments? On my thoughts? More likely than you think
I believe it is drawfee’s mission to kill me. I had a coughing fit laughing during watching this vod and i’m not even half an hour in. Guh
Happy birthday Jacob
You gotta do the spidermonkey scene in the car with the camera at the driver's seat window.
Edward is behind the wheel with Bella holding on through the seat like a horrifically awkward hug, and you take off in the car when Edward's meant to start running.
My initial thoughts are Julia as Edward, preferably with the goofiest, Halloween-iest Dracula cape possible, with Jacob as Bella saying his lines all muffled by the collar, but all I know about who has driver's licenses right now is that Nathan doesn't have one 'cause he says so all the time.
Edit to say that you don't have to worry about Nozick reading too deeply into stuff because I'd be surprised if Robert Nozick could read.
omg that chord! 13:22 drawfee choir when
The old suitcase full of mud line reaaaaally gets me chuckling
Also, pinning 55:05 for myself.
Thought experiment: "is this the same man?"
Me, an intellectual: "Have you heard of the Ship of Theseus?"
it would be more accurate if the ship of Theseus were suddenly destroyed completely at the same instant as an exact replica had been built right next to it. And nobody knew that the original was gone because the replica was perfectly convincing right down to the wear and tear on the wood.
this was the first stream I caught live and the first thing I heard was "Milk his piss"
Happy birthday, Jacob!
Wow this is the earliest I’ve been to a drawfee stream without actually watching it live
Jacob I can't believe this is the hole(hill) you're choosing to die in(on).
When life gives you Holes, experience them.
I relate to Jacob with the what book got me into reading, like I don’t freaking know, ABC books?
As someone who's currently taking an ethics course I really admire the Drawfee take on philosophical thought experiments which boils down to "Well that's a dumbass scenario anyway to write that down"
IT'S A NEW KIRK
BUT IT ALL FEELS OLD
IT'S A GOOD KIRK
THAT'S WHAT I'M TOLD
BUT EVERY STAR FLEET CAPTAIN FEELS THE SAME
"Is the child my enemy?" I love Nathan
im not sure if i have a specific book that got me into reading as a kid. i was reading all kinds of books, from Junie B Jones to Magic Treehouse, Nancy Drew, The Chronicles of Narnia, and A Series of Unfortunate Events, etc. I also read stuff like Dear Dumb Diary and Tiny Mouse.
I loved “Dealing with Dragons” !!!!
Getting flashbacks to having a philosophy guy as my literature teacher. He was so distraught when the whole class joked that we’d stay with the Lotus-Eaters in the Odyssey (experience machine analog)
The conversation and jokes from 19:30 to 20:38 go through my head so frequently that it has practically become part of my personality. I love that clip so much and I laugh every time I watch it in this video or in a compilation.
HAPPY JACOB DRAWFEE DAY
THE SOUNDBOARD?!?! 😮🎉
Happy birthday, Jacob!
I loved "Dealing with Dragons". Absolutely wonderful book, and the rest of the series was so much fun.
What a coincidence, i literally was JUST talking about holes the other day and how i don't think I've met anyone who's never seen it. It haunts me to know that jacob will never watch it. r.i.p. ✊️😔💯
Thank you I feel so pride and proud 🙏
Happy birthday Jacob
DEALING WITH DRAGONS is one of my favorite books! Hell yeah, Julia!
The sibling energy is off the charts in this one 🤣
29:52
Karina: "We have to do the voices"
No no no, we've all seen Twilight. Those are the voices.
I haven't even watched the vod yet, but I instantly gave it a like as soon as I heard that intro
The fact that no one said "ghost speep" at 1:48:26 is astonishing to me
the Star Trek/Wars mashin' is like asmr to me ❤
the "Nobody stabbed me!!!!!" joke is legit in the original Greek. The Ancient Greeks were big on dad jokes.
They should get a modded version of the trucking game and drive a truck full of drawfee pride merch
the mary one is actually interesting because its an exploration of the concept of qualia, that is, subjective experience of sensory information such as colour. the interest comes from explaining *why* the common sense answer is that mary does learn something new - essentially, why do we know that seeing colour is different than knowing about it? how can we prove that someone who knows everything about how colour vision works still has something to gain from seeing in colour for the first time? its a lot of fun to think about
Swamp Man and Paper Cow was my favorite nickelodeon show as a kid.
Jacob's parents watching today's video and at 42:43 and postpeepisly grounding Jacob for life because of the Tree of Mike peepis scene.
Happy birthday Jacob drawfee
I can't see if twitch chat mentioned it, but the Swampman thought experiment sounded weirdly familiar and yeah Alan Moore's run on Swamp Thing basically has the title character go through that, and preceded the philosophical essay by several years it seems? The moral of the story is Jacob read Holes.
I can't wait to see @20:04 show up in a Drawfee stream compilation
6:25 very relevant for New York's current state of air quality...
I watched holes recently as an adult for the first time. it has important cultural relevancy. it's good. books good too
edit: a lot of these thought experiments are plotlines to adventure Time also
hearing the description of dealing with dragons while i was half paying attention made me whip my head around so hard i twinged my neck… of course julia read that book, i don’t think anything could be more julia actually
My adhd butt forgot to turn off the 2x speed so I was rather confused about the rapid MĒP MĒP MĒPs 🎺 in the beginning 😂
Hatsune Peck lives in my head rent free
I forgot Karina is mixed white and Philipino so when she called her dad a quirked up white boy I was so confused
(shout out to mixed kids though, im wasian too lol)
I loved reading Dealing with Dragons when I was a kid! The whole series was very good!
honestly with the colour one i was like how would she know that she was looking at red if she's never seen it before? would she be able to correspond what she's learned about colour to an actual colour?
I suppose she could figure it out through context clues. Like she’s read that roses and apples are typically red and if she saw pictures of those things now that her device displays color she would find out that the color she had seen was called red.
@@LostApotheosis but thats dependent on the roses and apples she sees being red, what if theyre yellow? or what if theyre pink, assuming she could see pink, then she could think that pink is red by those context clues
@@onibeebee Probably a better example would be fire trucks and stop signs or something. For whatever reason apples and roses came to mind first.
@@LostApotheosis and stop signs come in yellow, and fire trucks come in lime yellow (rarely). she could see an image of those and guess that she's not seeing red
@@onibeebee Sure, but with enough time you’d probably figure it out. People are pretty good at learning things through association. Enough things are almost always red or have red before the name and she already knows the names of colors because she’s learned about colors. I don’t think it would actually take her that long.
I would very much like to hear about and/or see a drawing of Nathan's thoughts on Micheal Sheen's laugh when they eventually get to THAT scene. It is the best thing in the entire series, and it pops into my head regularly. It's going to stay with me for the rest of my life.
The Star Trek transporter/Swamp Man thought exercise is solved with one question: From his perspective does everything stop, or does he have one continuous conscious experience? If the original dies from his perspective, it's not the same person on the other side.
i've not read the book but the movie holes is genuinely very good i think jacob would like it
47:25 DEALING WITH DRAGONS WAS MY FAVORITE BOOK AS A KID
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACOB 🎉
i read and watched holes as a kid in school! i’m a 2004 baby tho, i think i found it in the library, picked it up and some adult was like “that’s an amazing book!” so i read it
the movie is like 3 hours long
So the pleasure machine thought experiment is pretty much the Joy Can episode of the Venture Brothers
No way you guys think when your drawing? 😂
edit: omg the spiderpunk drawing is so good! I just saw it with my boyfriend ^^
Grass feels pain, thats why they want us to keep off.
One of the primary conciets of transporter technology and subsequent offshots is that the persons whole self, brain pattern to atomic structure is converted directly into energy and that energy is then converted back into the body. because matter and energy are simply two expressions of the same underlying system the body as energy is functionally identical to the body as matter. So long as no information is lost or added in transport, the body remains intact despite it being converted into energy. Boom.
Also, I really like Harvulle Piku
I can't believe Julia murdered Nathan live on Stream
Dealing with Dragons is Goated
I freaking LOVE “Dealing with Dragons”!! Instant nostalgia and rereading right now
I wonder if I’m the only one that immediately thought of the pleasure torture device that’s in the Barbarella movie.
The stream peaked immediately with the soundboard shenanigans lmaooooooo
OMG Dealing With Dragons! I loved that series so much as a kid!
Holes is a pretty good analogy for the US's prison industrial complex.
The donkey is fudementally flawed, it places logic before survival. Therefore it dies and stronger specimen of it's species go on to become the supreme overlords of the planetary system. Survival of the fittest.
"I don't think anyone figured it out before they wrote it" yea, that's how thought experiments work, they are theoretical philosophical questions
