Hello Renz Aviator, I am currently looking to buy this xCruze 110 for my plane. Would it be possible to visit you in NL at your airport to have a look on it. And where have you bought all the components which are needed? And what is the price for all together?
Thanks in advance for answering my questions :)
    Best regards
    Matthias

      Hi Matthias,
I park my plane at home, but TruTrak basically provides everything you need. Nevertheless, I wanted to have it professionally installed and I had the AP installed at the manufacturer of my aircraft. I estimate that all in all I paid a little more than € 1500 for the installation. As I have already mentioned in another post in this topic, I recommend that you also take a look at the manufacturer Kanardia, which saves considerably on costs in terms of import tax. www.kanardia.eu/

Will the xCruze 110 hold a ground track if it it NOT slaved to an external GPS? SkyDemon will not interface with the xCruze 110, can I just dial the suggested SkyDemon ground track into the xCruze 110 manually and will the "Built in Ground Track DG" track the proper ground track? if it can't, can it at least act as a wing leveler to keep your heading steady?

      Hi James,
Unfortunately not. I tried, but I had to continuously adjust. The AP has an internal 'gyro', but deviates very quickly. I slaved the AP to a handheld garmin 296 and it works perfectly, accurate to the degree.
You can certainly use it as a wing leveler, but without GPS it quickly goes off course.
To be fair, the AP is pretty worthless without GPS.

@@Renz123546515 Thanks for the quick reply. I only see an option for a USB connection on the rear of the 296.
How did you get the 296 and the 110 connected?
I'm looking into the Garmin aera 660 as a cheap more modern alternative to the 296.

      By the way James,
I don't know where you're located, but ordering the Trutrak from the US gives additional tax on top of it. If I had known the following, I think I would have done it differently. I discovered a European company that makes instruments and for a good price. I ordered digital flight instruments (need to build it in though), and they also have AP. Look for yourself at www.kanardia.eu/

@@Renz123546515 I'm a US expat in Turkey for a while. I had run into that web site before...I'll check it out again. The link for the Garmin data cable gives a 404 error message.
