Maybe for Bengals fans, but not for Steeler fans. Did you ever watch a Steeler-Ravens game back then? That was pure unadulterated hatred. And still is now.
Steelers-Ravens is hatred. They're both good organizations who stand in each others way. Bengals-Steelers is one team wanting to take the head off of the other. That's not hatred.
The day my son (who was 9 at the time) became a Steeler fan. He was upset with me about something and as this game started he boldly said (knowing I was a die hard Steeler fan), and I quote, "I hope the Steelers lose." As the Steelers fell behind early and mounted their comeback my son started getting into the game. When the Steelers took the lead in the second half there was my boy rooting for the Steelers. A feeling of pride gushed through me...my son was officially a Steeler fan. His friends telling him there was no way Pittsburgh was gonna beat Manning and Indy the following week just lit a fire under him. When the Steelers won he was hooked. When we went to Mr Gattis to see them face Denver in the championship game he was jumping up and down as the Steelers dominated the game. Obviously they went on to beat Seattle in the Super Bowl and my son who is 26 now bleeds black n yellow....and it started with this game.
@@ChristoFreeze excuse me but if you see the reaction of the Steeler player ( I believe it was Von Olhafen) who hit Palmer low you can tell it wasn't intentional. It's football...injuries happen. They beat the Broncos whose team was decimated by the flu. Then they beat the Seahawks in the only SB where the refs officially apologized to the losing team for the horrendous calls. Kimo came in low on Palmer on that play. Steinbach couldn't hold his block and Kimo beat him,but he went low on Palmer's Knee. That would be a personal foul in today's game.
I’ve been a Steeler fan my whole life. I grew up an hour and a half from Pittsburgh. I remember this Playoff run like it was last week. If Palmer and Henry don’t go down to injury I don’t think the Steelers win this game and this crazy playoff run never happens.
That lineman was NOT blocked into Palmer it was a dirty play. So evident! That is why the league implemented more rules to protect quarterbacks. Palmer was never the same. I was at the game. Kimo got blocked into Palmer. Immediately afterwards, he was calling for the Bengals‘ medical staff to come out and help him. In an interview a couple weeks later, Palmer said he had talked to Kimo and knew he didn’t do it on purpose.
Blocked into him my ass. Sorry excuse for a player who ended the year for another. He is trying to get around the block and starts falling and follows through the knee.
