Maybe for Bengals fans, but not for Steeler fans. Did you ever watch a Steeler-Ravens game back then? That was pure unadulterated hatred. And still is now.

Steelers-Ravens is hatred. They're both good organizations who stand in each others way.
Bengals-Steelers is one team wanting to take the head off of the other. That's not hatred.

The day my son (who was 9 at the time) became a Steeler fan. He was upset with me about something and as this game started he boldly said (knowing I was a die hard Steeler fan), and I quote, "I hope the Steelers lose." As the Steelers fell behind early and mounted their comeback my son started getting into the game. When the Steelers took the lead in the second half there was my boy rooting for the Steelers. A feeling of pride gushed through me...my son was officially a Steeler fan. His friends telling him there was no way Pittsburgh was gonna beat Manning and Indy the following week just lit a fire under him. When the Steelers won he was hooked. When we went to Mr Gattis to see them face Denver in the championship game he was jumping up and down as the Steelers dominated the game. Obviously they went on to beat Seattle in the Super Bowl and my son who is 26 now bleeds black n yellow....and it started with this game.

@@ChristoFreeze excuse me but if you see the reaction of the Steeler player ( I believe it was Von Olhafen) who hit Palmer low you can tell it wasn't intentional. It's football...injuries happen. To quote Tomlin himself...its next man up. Cincy put up a valiant effort but it wasn't enough. The Steelers are a class organization. They play hard, they play physical and they play nasty....but they don't play dirty. Just admit the better team won...GO STEELERS!!!!

Steelers beat Cincinnati only after Kimo vonWhatsHisFace blew out Carson Palmer's knee.
They beat the Colts who were still reeling from the suicide of HC Tony Dungy's son 1 month earlier.
They beat the Broncos whose team was decimated by the flu.
Then they beat the Seahawks in the only SB where the refs officially apologized to the losing team for the horrendous calls.
Yes, they get to keep the Lombardi. And no, there isn't any footnote next to their win. But this is not a post-season I'd go pounding my chest over. This was quite possibly the most fortunate SB run any team has ever had.

Even when the Bengals went up 17-7, they were never in control of the game. They were still overly emotional due to losing Palmer and blaming the Steelers. A staple of Marvin Lewis' Bengals teams, talented but had mental fortitude of paper, highly undisciplined and inability to keep their cool in pressure situations.

LOL. 05 was the Steelers year. Cincy in 05 led the league in points allowed in the last 7 games leading into the playoffs. Losing palmer was tough but Kitna had them up 17-7. It wasn't because of their QB they lost. They lost because their defense couldn't hold it together.

Blocked into him my ass. Sorry excuse for a player who ended the year for another. He is trying to get around the block and starts falling and follows through the knee. Dirty play whether it the player was known to be dirty or not. Doesn't matter how remorseful he was. He took out the other teams Qb and it ruined the game. Good job I guess but don't make excuses.
