When i came to the states in 88, coming from a football nation to a place where there wasn't even a professional football league, never in my wildest dream I'd imagine that 30 years later I'd be sitting here watching football specific stadiums,.packed with fans, loving the sport that kept me off the street and kept me alive when i was a little kid. Each time i see an MLS TEAM inaugurating their own stadium, i get nothing but goose bumps, a sense of pride and happiness.. these are the stadiums that my kids will be going to for ever and ever, the kids of my kids etc . Long live the beautiful game! Congrats Columbus ! Beautiful stadium!
The nation anthem was so so beautiful! I am not even American but I got very emotional. I am happy to see everyone united during this moment. Anthems are made to unite not divide.
This is how the anthem should be played in every match in any stadium in the US. No fancy celebrity singer trying to showcase their singing skills. No fancy high notes nor fancy vibratos. Rather, just have a singer that is just there to encourage and serenade the crowd to sing along. I'm not American but my eyes went a bit foggy just now.

You don’t see this style of atmosphere at other sports in America. Maybe Football, but mostly college based football. Otherwise, this atmosphere is not seen at other U.S leagues, unless it’s playoffs and championships. But not on regular season games.

Atlanta United and the Seattle Sounders already outsell almost half of the NFL stadiums. I’ve been to United’s stadium (same stadium that the Falcons play in); even the standing room only was sold out. And yes, all three sections of the stadium were open. The Falcons haven’t had that many fans at one of their home games yet.
I particularly like small stadiums (25,000 capacity), than NFL big stadiums, I have been at MLS Orlando city's, and the atmosphere there was amazing comparing to NFL Redskins FEDEXFIELD stadium, trying to figure out wich player is who with binoculars from the third level of that ugly giant stadium... It was a Real Madrid vs DC united friendly match by the way...
in the US it is tradition to sing the national anthem before a sporting event . This happens before baseball games , american football games , basketball or whatever sport . they do it for the pros , college, and even at high schools . Americans will sing the national anthem whenever we feel like doing it . You dont get to decide when we sing it
