Desmond Lim pretty easy, she and her team is getting hate by crying babies because she chose the weakest team to compete with , something that is complete valid and ethical because this is a "survival" program. The strongest eats the weakest , that's how business work. People also said they laughed at the weak team, something that's a big fat lie. They did laugh, but it was a nervous laugh at the situation, they never made fun of the girls in the weak team.
A good leader would make it fair and choose Japanese members too, not only to make it fair but to guide the Japanese members on the show too. That's what a good leader and a good person would do. this is so sad, i dont even care if mnet did evil editing, she chose all korean members and thats just sad. dont go on a korean/japanese show just to favor koreans.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to win. The problem is that she wanted an EASY win. This show is all about tough competition, and she wanted NO competition. Hence, she only chose Koreans for her team to win easier. That is lazy, shallow and cheap.

It's a competitive show for a spot in a very competitive and cutthroat industry. If you are so weak that you cry before even trying something, you might not be cut out to survive in the kpop industry. Read up about how many kpop idols end up suicidal or overcome with anxiety or depression because of how tough it is. You have to deal with mean and demanding managers and music companies. You have to deal with endless practice, performance, fan service, etc. schedules. You have to perform even while sick or injured and finish your comeback schedules. Read up about how many kpop idols and other Korean celebrities like actresses and models, even underaged ones, have to constantly fend off advances and sexual assault from entertainment executives and managers. Read up about the hate mail and death threats kpop idols receive from creepy fans of other groups. Read up about the stalkers kpop idols get when their own creepy fans cross the line. Look up the video of a man who grabs and pulls Taeyeon from the stage in front of her group members and thousands of people during a live performance.
Successful, young, wealthy kpop idols and Korean actors/actresses have committed suicide because of how much all of that weighs on them.
By coddling team 2 for crying and showing so much weakness, you're actually doing them a great disservice. They should be motivated to toughen up or to reconsider whether it's safe for them to go on and experience the full stress and danger and neverending demands of the kpop industry. If they're going to cry because a difficult song was chosen for a show, how are they going to handle the horrible things I listed above?

I'm here because she's debuting as a member of ELRIS. I remember the whole fiasco with the boombayah teams. What she did two years ago is in the past, and I really hope she can put the past behind her having learned from her mistakes. She's very talented and I trust that she has grown since Produce. I have hopes for her and am curious to see what she will bring to ELRIS.

I mean, aside from Mnet's evil editing, the Team 1 leader chose the members SPECIFICALLY to do Boombayah, plus she only chose Korean members (therefore, making the task more easy because: no communication problem, everyone knew the song, easier to rap...), and yet they chose the weakest team of all. That's a shady move honestly, and I'm glad it's backfiring, despite they probably won the Team Battle.

i am a blris and was doubtful of her joining the group because i’ve witnessed the whole boombayah drama. however i rewatched the clips and if you look closely she was genuinely shocked when the other group started crying after getting chosen. when she was discussing with her group she said “sorry but... let’s pick them” and the other girl said “i don’t wanna die (get eliminated). it’s honestly such a stressful situation if you’re a trainee there, obviously you’d want to win. she also didn’t use any impolite korean grammar to insult the group. she doesn’t come from a rich company and had little chances of debuting so why would she let her guard down and pick a more skilled group? moreover it was just a 5 second clip is discussion. they also showed clips of other groups mentioning the “the last (places) group” but didn’t edit it what the others said. chaejeong was unfortunate to get her clip edited in, in which i agree she should’ve been more careful with her words. i am sure most of the trainees were desperate to survive. please also keep in mind that pd48 may be scripted and many of the girls are manipulated? there are many girls on pd series that were evil edited to look like they hate each other but turned out to be friends. siyeon from pristin was also evil edited for being competitive but now fans joke about that whole fiasco because we know that she is actually very nice. also on today’s stage izone and elris greeted each other, chaejeong greeted hyewon and eunbi even went to hug her.
also let’s be completely real: every team was planning on picking them. and her plan was to pick the hardest song and do it well. seoyeon and yujin were the only ones who fucked up, but they’re also no longer trying to be idols.

She was in a horrible position, started the show in last place, was in the 90s every week, and she probably would’ve just gotten a lower rank had she picked a talented team.

I really don't like her, (but not her group), which is unfortunate cuz she caught my eye during the audition round. The things that came out from her mouth really shocked me and disappointed me, she could have phrased it better, but she didn't. I'm trying to not bash or judge her especially since mnet is evil at editing but...DAMN SHE PICKED THE WEAKEST GROUP WITH MOSTLY JAPANESE AND FROM F GRADE THAT'S A LOW BLOW! I know it's a competition, everyone has the same wish for winning and even when this group choose Chowon's they shouldn't have laughed or mocked them like BISH WHERE'S YOUR MANNER. I imagined if they somehow picked other team to perform Boombayah then group 2 would still be able to pull it off since other songs are more to a cute-sexy concept ex. Like Ooh Aah, Very3x, High Tension Akb48, etc. But no, some people are so hungry for winning even if they have to trample the weaker ones. As for group 2 i'm 100% sure it's not because they are talentless, it's because most of them are japanese and from class F, they didn't get the proper training unlike Koreans, heck Blackpink trained for years before finally debuting with this song while group 2 only have idk few days(?). Judging from talent only i would pick this group but morally i would pick group 2 for not giving up and trying to improve despite their limits, i think that is what matters the most for being an idol other than talents...you have to be humble, always try to improve, work hard and do your best.

You need to know this is a survival show, but at the same time, all the audience in the whole world can become the judge of this show. (Even though only Korean can vote for them, but on this platform, everybody can be the person who changes their future. )
Normally audiences in this show not only chase for the strongest or most talented trainee, they also pick the trainee who is hardworking and with a great attitude.
Because the audiences are not professional sensei or trainer, they pick for the person which have a good attitude and they can support them after debut, so this is a survival show, you can pick the weakest team to become ur rival, but at the same time, audience have eyes to see what's going on actually.

I wonder if she even understands how Produce101 works before. She HAS to know that no matter how talented/untalented you are, *YOU HAVE TO CAPTURE THE VIEWERS' HEARTS* to get votes! Even if you did well in your performances, it'll only get you an extra 1000 votes. But if you show a good personality like how Sejeong & Pinky helped Sohye in season one, you can easily get 10000 or even 100000 votes because people will like you more. There's nothing wrong with wanting to win, but if she's smart & SO confident she could've picked some F class japanese, be kind & teach them patiently like how Sejeong & Pinky taught Sohye... then boom she'll be loved by the viewers. Especially now that the show has half korean and half japanese, extra points if you can show a beautiful relationship between the two countries.
