1 of only 55 Coronet 500s made with a 383 Magnum and a 4-speed! We have the original fender tag and build sheet to document the car. A collector purchased it in 2014, it was an unrestored but solid car with the matching numbers motor. He spent 2 years giving it a high quality rotisserie restoration. Only 3,800 miles since finished.
EXTERIOR: It was stripped to a bare shell and put on a rotisserie so every angle could be easily finessed. It required very little body work. All original metal except an NOS fender. Repainted its original Dark Burnt Orange poly color. The paint is laid out evenly and the clear is polished smooth and glossy. The white Bumble Bee stripe and top really pop! Both look like new. Windshield was replaced. The chrome was replated, stainless was polished. Weather strips and seals were replaced. It is rolling on a set of BFG radial redline tires and painted rims with poverty wheels.
INTERIOR: I swear it's as close to brand new in here as you can get. From carpet to headliner, it is mint and it all fits right too. In front of me are factory rallye gauges and they look new along with the instrument panel, knobs, gauges, heater controls, dash pad, steering wheel, glove box etc. The door panels and armrests are excellent. The seats feel good, the upholstery and headrests are bright white. Down on the floor the carpet and mats look like new, the best part is the bench seat shifter sticking out of the hump. Overhead has a new headliner, visors mirror and dome light. The seat belts look like new. It has a retro stereo in the factory hole. Everything functions properly: tachometer, key buzzer, clock, interior lights, heater blower etc.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: This has the N code 383 high performance Magnum engine. It is original number match to this car. The motor looks all stock except for an upgraded dual feed Holley carb. It's very obvious this engine compartment was completely disassembled and properly restored. Every component looks clean and proper. Squirters are hooked up, battery is bolted down, it has hood insulation, correct hose clamps. It features power steering and brakes.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Wow, it's beautiful in here too. Pristine metal and it's all painted and clear coated smooth and glossy. It's detailed: the marker light housing, tail light housings, the latches, wiring all look like new. Reproduction weather strip, seat divider and trunk mat. It has a matching BFG radial red line on a painted rim. Complete jack assembly.
UNDERSIDE: It was flipped on a rotisserie and every component underneath the car was removed. Extremely clean original rust free metal. The frame rails, floors and rockers are dry and smooth. They were prepped and painted a semi gloss black. The steering and suspension have been completely rebuilt. Front and back shocks were replaced. The brake system was completely replaced and upgraded with disc at all four wheels. It has a custom e-brake assembly. The fuel system was completely replaced including the tank. Great sounding dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers and the correct square tips. Looking up at the motor it is still spotless, new high torque starter. It has the correct casting codes, dates and the VIN number by the oil pan matches the car. It was born a 4-speed car and has a correct trans. The linkage looks new. 8 3/4 rear with 3.55 Sure Grip gears.
SERVICE: We inspected the car and adjusted the choke, rotated the tires, repaired the passenger door lock and adjusted the e-brake.
This car is extremely impressive. The fit, finishes and functions are at the level we are all in search of. It will make its new owner very proud. The poverty wheels really are the perfect choice for this non R/T sleeper. Someone ordered this car to either win some street races or outsmart the insurance company.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year membership.

What a unique, special car. Essentially a Super Bee in a Coronet 500 wrapper.

@HJG1964 A little know that the pistol grip shifters were common in a 70 coronet 4speed cars my brothers had 2 70's Superbee's with them don't recall ever seeing one without them 🤔

      It's a 500 Coronet, not a Super Bee...
You should do some research on this particular model before making comments...@@josephharnett5075

This car will NOT "function as new" because it has the wrong type of tires; also, I have never seen or heard of a 70 4-speed without the pistol grip shifter.

And if you've ever owned or even just driven one, you wouldn't necessarily want it to drive like it was new. The belted tires were a nightmare, brakes (especially on cheaper muscle cars) were underwhelming at best, and quality control e.g. 'fit and finish' items were inconsistent at best. I owned 3 muscle cars in my teen years and came back into the hobby recently. I'd much rather take an originality hit in favor of new, modern paint finishes, lower aspect radial tires, and a disk brake swap.

@@jefffawcett1626WE like stories. Tell us which 3 muscle cars you owned 'as a teen' ?
      I had;
      55 Chevy Bel Air, 327 c i (at age 12, 1970)
      A 1962 Corvair Spyder at 14 (in 1972)
      A 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 Police Sedan 330 hp 390 c.i. (age 15, 1973)
      1968 SS 396 Chevelle (age 17, 1975)
      1964 Oldsmobile F 85 with the Police Apprehender Pursuit Package 330 c.i. & 310 horses. (Age 18, 1976)
      1969 Camaro 302 c.i. ( Age 19, 1977 )
      1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass Coupe high compression 330 - 320 hp (1978 age 20 )
      1974 Oldsmobile Omega S 350 with a 4 speed when I was in the Marine Corps 1982 age 22. ( yeah, not a teen then )
      A few years ago I owned a 1975 Chevy Malibu with a transplanted 402 c.i. out of a 1970 Chevy truck.

@@seH2iHmm, my early years' dabbling in the hobby was much smaller in scale for sure; age 16 ('74) C code 289 ci 1966 Ford Mustang 3 sp., age 17 ('75) L48 350 ci 1969 Chevrolet Camaro w/Muncie 4 sp, disk brakes, age 19 ('77) base 327 ci 1968 Chevrolet Corvette coupe w/Muncie 4 sp. Both the Mustang and Vette were factory A/C cars. The Camaro was the quickest, the Vette was the coolest and the Mustang was least expensive to own/operate. I'm currently working on a '78 Jeep CJ5 w/ remanufactured AMC 304 ci V8.
