That CM Punk and MJF promo was 🔥
Tony Khan did the impossible, he got people to boo CM Punk without turning him heel.
He was top merch seller... 😂 If Vince ran aew and if anyone went business against top guy, he'd burry him to the ground... Cm punk went business against Cena too with pipebomb and people think he was rewarded but post pipebomb all wwe tried to do was bury punk but he still managed to hold on... While Daniel Bryan is great wrestler, he's still wwe counter to cm punk leaving... Now in aew, what he do to help build business? Nothing...
Aew and Tony khan made punks fan hate him and punk not saying anything didn't help either but he's wwe return changed things...
Young bucks got exposed soo badly, now they are doing punk angle.. Even Dave meltzer said it's lame angle because punk has moved on... Imagine making an angle over a guy who's not even wrestling in your company.. 😅
By the wrestling nerds yes but in wwe hell no
Tony Khan did the impossible, he drove CM Punk back to WWE
@@jordanroman841that too,i hate the man child but credit to him we as wwe fans got cm punk back
Yeah same with Cody too but thanks to him and their entire fanbase we got our next WWE "faces" Cody back home.
AEW shouldn’t have given their superstars creative control because now their own a downward spiral.
I have a secret to tell you. Every star had some form of creative control. That's what being a star is all about. If Roman Reigns doesn't want to do an angle or wrestle a match, it's not happening. It's that way everywhere in the world. The most influential talent wield more power. HBK got away with tons of shit in the 90's, because he was HBK.
Every top guy has or had creative control in pro-wrestling, no matter which promotion he worked for. WWE is no exception.
You guys are referencing top guys the problem here is its not just tip guys with creative control , imagine just having a shit ton of hulk holgans without the drawing power just the drama
@@kevinmora8551exactly this jobbers like jungle boy and Sammy Guevara think they can veto creative and believe they're as important as a proven international draw. Kahn has zero control.
Creative control would be making reference to members of their roster have a contractual clause giving various people on their roster legal control over their creative direction. We haven’t heard or seen anybody there who has that. So your actual argument is that TK should allow people on his roster to have substantial input in their creative. And to a degree that’s true when it’s allowed to hinder the show and TK avoids putting his foot down for certain things, which is badly needed there. But the idea of high level guys not having substantial influence on their creative direction or that being a new thing to AEW isn’t realistic or accurate. High level guys have always had major influence on what their programs are and why they work with and talk never change. It just needs to be reigned in and TK needs to lay down who has the final say I the end and make tough choices for the betterment of the company in the end. Tk is the warning of letting people have too much freedom while Vince was the warning of guys not having enough
Years ago AEW was the hottest thing in wrestling people like Omega Young bucks MJF Moxley and others things were different from WWE and it was amazing business. The problem was giving wrestlers creative power just leaves to the same thing in WCW.
Punk really elevated AEW. He got them a new show Collision which was completely different. Look at the stage, the ramp was different. The matches storylines were different. Main event had almost 30 minutes or so. It was focused on one upcoming young star with other veterans storylines. Now, look at collision. Total random matches. Fallout of Dynamite is going on on collision.
Man that building went off the roof when cm punk returned at survivor series in 2023.
I think how CM punk has been in wwe so far, no drama nothing. Shows the main issue was aew and the inmates running the asylum
GIVE IT TIME MATE THERE WILL BE DRAMA I GUARENTEE IT HE WALKED OUT BEFORE REMEMBER

That's the problem with AEW, this is what happens when you give wrestlers creative control. They get stupid. I assume in 10 years, it'll go the way of WCW
Exactly and to give them real power away from the TV shows. Shouldn’t put active wrestlers on any disciplinary committee or executive vice president of the company. There’s just way too much conflict of interest and egos
Honestly, that’s a generous 10 years you give AEW.

As soon as Hangman opened his mouth about Colt Cabana everything fell apart from that moment on and was never the same. Tony Khan as the leader and boss of the company should have addressed the drama and squashed it immediately, instead he acted like a gutless manchild who is everyones friend while letting it get way out of hand to the point of no return. He shoudlve acted like a true professional, got the locker room together and squashed it. At the end of the day its Tony Khan whos running the show and shouldve put his foot down, and all the drama and divisiveness that came from it and all the drama and fall out came because of Tony's lack of leadership.. and all the fall out that happened afterwards from Hangman, EVP fight, to Jack Perry to wembley was a reflection of Tony Khan's lack of leadership and not keeping his employees in check. 2019/2021 was the most exciting time in AEW, but since then it has taken a drastic fall from grace and as a fan since day 1 Tony Khan and the matches all together have made me resent aew now lol.
Resent it? That's so stupid. Also, please give Punk credit, he planned out how he was gonna get fired and he used Jungle boy to do it. Cause remember, he visited RAW and Impact long before the issue with Jack Perry.
Tony has no leadership, a kid can't tell a bunch of adults what to do, they simply won't listen.

Bryan wasn't involved in anything at all. Punk always respected bryan
@@mrnicemam8523didn’t the video say that Bryan was part of the committee that decided to fire Punk from AEW? Maybe that’s what the thanks is for
I think the big difference between the bad blood backstage at both aew and WWE is at WWE at least everyone who hated him is professional about it while in aew they just stooped to insults and not listening and probably also the fact that Tony Khan kinda sucks at his job while Triple H being a former wrestler knows how to run a show
I wouldnt use Epic to describe Punks current run in WWE, his return to wrestling in AEW is still one of the greatest things ive seen and so far his run in WWE now seems to be promo, take pics with NXT women and do media so I would still rate his AEW run superior
He’s had one match back and the world is tuning into him again. He was wrestling match after match with AEW and no one cared.
Can we call it a “run” you blinked and he’s on the shelf
LMAO the part about the nxt women killed me. They can't help but want his tattoo'd D!
True but gotta say Punk does look visibily happier in WWE now. Even after being injured he is sticking around doing the occasional appearances and commentary. Backstage morale has been high since HHH took over the creative. The animosity Seth and Drew is showing him is just kayfabe. They are both looking forward to have a fued with him. Drew is still keeping his name in people's head by wearing tshirts trolling Punk lol. The youngsters in NXT look upto him. I think the direction he is headed towards is taking over Shawn Micheals job eventually and running NXT.
@@johntimothy9757 Revisionist history at it's best. People care and watched CM Punk in 2021. It's in 2023, after that Gripe Bomb that he lost all respect from the fans. Never should have been brought back.
I’m glad WWE ‘matured’ and now listens to the fans and give us what we want (Cody vs Reigns at WM XL). This is the environment CM Punk needs to grow.. I’m excited on what he’ll do in the coming months/years.
The fans want Chad ,Sami Gunther in a triple threat match let's see if this happens at WrestleMania
Thanks a lot bro this is the only explanation that 8 could understand. Well informed guy.
We should all be grateful to AEW. Without them Punk would never have returned to wrestling, Cody would not be the face of WWE right now, amd arguably WWE would not be booming the way it is. Yes AEW is a mess right now, but as a wrestling fan I appreciate them bringing real competition that forged the path we are now on. Regardless of what company you prefer wrestling fans are eating well. I don’t ever want to go back to the dark times.
I was there for his debut in AEW. It was so loud when he came out.
“I was there…” this guy is everywhere 😂😂😂
Can't wait for the sequel 'How AEW Failed' lmao
Crazy how now yall standing with punk💀 ill never forget how content creators and fans sided with the no money drawing young bucks over the biggest star in aew
It's a case of not knowing what he had till it was gone. Sometimes the grass isn't always greener.
Yes, he was probably overlooked when it came to certain booking choices by WWE but he always was a top guy.
He was his own biggest mark and seemed to buy wholesale into his gimmick as "best in the world".
Now he looks much more humbler and is more able to better appreciate being a top guy in the biggest promotion even it he isn't the guy and isn't going to get too irked by creative not going his way.
Just wait. He was on his best behaviour when he first started in AEW. It's a question of when not if with Punk
Thats not the reason all the issues happened. Its ppl like hangman who thinks they are the shit and above the company. Imagine fkin with the top draw just bcoz a nepo friend was getting fired

The funniest part of this comment was he practically screamed it all while pointing at Tony Kahn who just sat there looking like he peed the bed
I have to watch the video still, but have to point this out. I don't think AEW messed up Punk's run. I think his body kept giving him problems. That being said I will watch the video and see if it changes my thoughts.
The way it's explained in this sounds a lot like Punk was bullied by the Elite and Punk just pushed back. Sounds like Highschool drama that Punk was just a part of, but didn't cause. And due to his previous drama and issues with WWE, people assume Punk is hard to work with, when in reality he is just a victim of Highschool-like bullying and drama. That's how I interpreted this breakdown of Punk's history from WWE to AEW to WWE. I can't tell if Sportskeeda is bias towards Punk though. I like Punk, but not enough to be super partial/bias towards him.
The aew lockeroom is a shit show, it's funny how aew fans ignore how much bickering, fighting and bs didn't involve punk. The inmates are running the asylum, a lockeroom full of entitled mini hogans, without any of the drawing power.
@garyslackjaw Yeah, that's what it seems like. I think it was pretty decent when it started with Jericho and Cody, but once Cody left its kinda lost its professionalism. WWE does feel like a family. Even if people have issues with each other, they're still able to work professionally: IE - Punk, Rollins, and Drew. Heck, Triple H let go of his grudges towards Punk and is putting Punk in creative rolls. That's probably more business than family. But you can tell how tight nit a lot of the superstars are these days. The new Era of superstars get along because they're humble and friends. Whereas AEW seems like high school Cliques. John Moxley called it high school too, but he and his wife always had chips on their shoulders like highschoolers, so they don't quite make ot any better. Daniel Bryan is pretty bitter as well. Sasha Banks always having attitude and throwing fits when she doesnt get her way. Your "magical healing rocks" arent working, honey. Funny how the crystal girls always seem calm and compassionate when confronted, but behind closed doors, theyre demons.
I get it though, Vince rubbed too many people the wrong way. And we've only been in the Hunter Era for a year or so? Even then, WWE is better than it has ever been because everyone is professional and on the same page.
Honestly, the whole CM Punk thing in AEW had a bunch of issues.
1. He kept getting injured. Both of his injuries came at pretty much the worst possible time.
2. AEW is an absolute fucking shitshow in terms of management. They are basically run like a small indy company, which is fine.. when they were a small indy company. But that really aren't that anymore, but do not have the proper structures in place to manage anything.
3. Punk has always been difficult. He railed against the structure that was in place in WWE (and in fairness, it was too oppressive at the time). By the time he got to AEW, I think his now understood WHY that structure has to exist. For all the talk of Punk and his "shoot" promo's in WWE, they were worked shoot.
Ultimately, they both failed each other... and they both benefited. AEW should have handled the situation far, far better. And so should have Punk. AEW got a shit load of publicity, some great promos and great matches from Punk. And Punk got to show that his still as good as he was, at a time that meant he was actually able to end up back in WWE due to the system changing. Ironically, despite him not being a massive fan of Paul, I suspect Paul was the one who would have been open to having him back. Until we get the documentary of it (cos I'm sure it will happen) we won't know, but I imagine Paul always had a massive respect for his ability in the ring, on the mic and the issue was always his attitude. I always thought there was no way Punk could go back because of that, the fact that he has gone makes me suspect that Punk probably has realised he can be a complete and utter twat and Paul has set out that his happy to give him freedoms, but this are the lines he has to stick to.
Punk is the great name right now in pro wrestling and as a fan I want to see him more on Tv, his prime 10 years were wasted due to his and WWE ego and fans really missed his promos in the WWE squared circle but now he is back again.
Thank you. Adam Page and Jack Perry for fucking up Tony's Investment lol.
I honestly just don't care about any companies "failures" anymore. AEW is too new to be harping on every mistake. CM Punk will always be a legend and I think he was awesome for those 2 years in AEW. The Bucks new gimmick is interesting and I still like watching AEW and I can't wait for WrestleMania and I'm glad their course corrected the Cody/Roman angle. There's so much evil shit going on in the world, I'm just glad to have a lot of wrestling to catch up on every week. All the drama is fun.

The equivalent of what happened to CM Punk is this, let’s say it’s a basketball team, your GM is also your teammate, doesn’t like you from jump because your friends don’t have a good past with him (exactly the angle Darby is working now while accidentally putting over Cody) but you happen to not be able to fire him because he has a no trade clause, so instead of firing him you don’t pass him the ball, crap talk him and the second he fires back say “see see”, relegate him to another show which ends up outdoing what you’re doing and come on don’t even pretend like Collision wasn’t the best thing they had going, refuse to work an angle that blurred the lines of reality and fiction which Punk was and even in the WWE is willing to do now because believe it or not he is a great worker, and then at the biggest PPV of the year you let your ego take over after your match trying to bury or put him under going into business for yourself again. Hold them accountable at least if you’re going to go at Punk. Just saying.
steph don’t actually have hate for punk😂, he said he only did that for a future match in a interview not to long ago, i can’t speak for drew
Why was punk so mad about jungle boy lol fans watching wouldn’t even know jungle boy said “real glass” referring to punk.
AEW reminds me of that South Park wrestling episode
So that’s why the Bucks always had an issue with Punk.
He wasn’t on board with the original All In event.
If you watched their youtube show "being the elite" The bucks were excited for Punk to come into the company. What happened was Colt Cabana was the Elites friend and suddenly he was moved to ROH when Punk came onboard and he likely complained to them, and that's how the friction started.
6:52 Tony Won’t like that….

Listening all this i find the statement true when he said he worked with childrens 😂
1:14 For all those people claiming Punk is a hypocrite for going back to WWE after saying this, here’s the thing: the problem was Vince McMahon.
It was ALWAYS Vince McMahon.
As long as the old man and his stooges were running the show, Punk could have killed himself in the ring working for them, and it wouldn’t have mattered because they were never going to give him the rewards he was seeking. His greatest goal has always been main eventing Wrestlemania, but Vince was never going to give it to him no matter how over he was or how much merchandise he sold or how many house shows he sold out or how good he was.
But Vince is GONE. He’s gone and he’s never coming back. That was the difference. This is why Punk is back. It’s a brand new WWE, run by new people and a whole new landscape. And that made it possible for the most impossible return to happen.
Vince wasn't gone when Punk came back. Vince got removed from TKO in January, Survivor series was in November.
@@nworder4lifeVince wasn’t in creative. He had no say in what happened in WWE Punk said he was hired by HHH and Nick Khan
How the turned have tables- Michael
