He was the perfect fighting machine and very well spoken and intelligent. Had one of the highest ring I.Q's and there's nothing you cannot like about this great man. A shame that he didnt get the kind of accolades that other champions got. He should have been a household name. Jesus he fought Marciano with 6oz gloves. Today's heavyweights would go home and cry before they got in the ring with those. He went 15 bruising rounds and both guys took tremendous shots. A testament on how much tougher those guys from the 40s and 50s were. Just a different type of athlete. Pretty cool he learned Italian to speak with Rocky too. They became close friends after those two savage wars
Will Grello indeed. I agree with you. Charles was a different animal, He gave Marciano his 2 toughest fights while having started professionally as a middleweight! That says it all. A true legend of the sport, and an absolutely wonderful human being outside the ring to boot!
James Toney has said that Ezzard Charles was his favorite fighter and had a HUGE impact on his own style - that he modeled a lot of his own craft off Ezzard's...
Hamza Khaliq Marciano is a bit difficult to rate. He is most certainly an atg, however most of his best opponents were a bit past it, and Joe Louis was completely over the hill, but that doesn’t change the fact that he beat the best in his time. I’m not sure where exactly I’d place him, perhaps in the top 40 of all time.
They give the impression of gentlemen. All that dumb hype shit is nonsense. They are not communicating much with each other to save up on energy to blast each other in the ring so they probably won't get friendly. They are all competitive I bet you, to a fault, but they know to put that behavior aside and act as proper men.
Your a legend for posting this, finding Footage of Ezzard just speaking is pretty darn. Good man, my favorite fighter, could have fought in any era and would dominate the middle, super-middle, and light-heavy divisions today.
An amazing boxer , on of the best ever in ring history . A real gentleman as are all these old time boxers . They don't have to act tough or pump there chest out . They are who they are.
Hammad, I was wondering what happened to your other videos? I remember your breakdowns on Crawford vs Khan and Charles vs Louis and great tribute Smokin' Joe Frazier.
That second interview was that his after match with Marciano? I think it was. Jesus I forgot how brutal of a 15 round war that was. It was the real version of Balboa vs Creed.
Happy Birthday Emmett Till & Rest In Heaven To Him, His Father Louis Till & His Mother Mamie Till. 💯 Also Happy Birthday & Rest In Heaven Walter Payton & Rest In Heaven To Mel Blanc. 💯 HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY & Rest In Heaven To The Cincinnati Cobra THE LATE GREAT EZZARD CHARLES. 💯
When I look at interviews of old generation fighters such as Ezzard, Marciano, Archie Moore, and many more, it just makes me realize that today's fighters are just pathetic and have no class.
You're absolutely right on the money. These guys were so humble and classy: very gracious towards their opponents after a win and ZERO excuses after a loss- which is how real men and real champions behave. Most boxers today are absolutely classless, arrogant and disdainful trash humans in comparison...
It’s not just fighters, it’s people in general. Most black Americans in this day and age don’t know how to speak appropriately and always feel the need to use profanity.

@@hammad9091 why were they taken down?, would love them re uploaded if possible so I can add to playlist, always used to use it as motivation to train and all as Charles is one of my idols

Man. I love the respect these fighters had for each other. Old school boxing.

He was an intelligent man. And an ATG as a fighter.
Agreed.

Man, he's a very likable guy. Seems very honest and sincere, polite and kind. Loved him as a boxer, starting to really like him as a person.
He sounds so much like Ray Robinson
This guy was a phenomenal fighter. Would've loved to have seen him in his prime vs Patterson.
Indeed. Amazing fighter. One of, if not the best ever.

A true gentleman and a fantastic fighter.
Love the end segment with Charles, Marciano and Walcott, they seem like such great men.

Best Light Heavyweight Of All Time
Man this is awesome!!
Arguably the Goat
Do you think Ezzard would’ve beaten Robinson?
@@Uuyrijies1123 Same skill but Charles was bigger. Robby might get stopped, and not due to heat either.
Wow. Ezzard was so damn intelligent. He was speaking Italian fluently.
That was humbling. Sure it was a little hokey but the respect was there.
He comes off as a genuine cool guy. Extremely likeable personality. Helluva' competitor too
Well spoken brother.
A class act
