As a Tennessee fan all my life. He is the most beloved quarterback ever. I hope he will be the same in the NFL for their Lion's. He's just a wonderful, humble good person and I wish him the best always. His character is second to none and he is the kind of person that will give his absolute all. All day and everyday.
Lions fans love Hendon. We love Goff, too. We wish both of these fine men success. Let's just see what happens. I have to admit that I'm looking forward to the first deep ball hookup between Hendon and Jamo. One Pride! Go Lions!
I think that could be what makes the lions move on from goff. I agree i love goff, but hes your safe pcoket passer, can sling it with the best, but does he have that factor? If goff goes down for spell late in the season, if you see several big plays from that duo in a short span, they could save the big bucks and load up in other spots and build around hooker. If that happens youll have 3 seasons paying virtually nothing to the qb. Dont mess it up. Sincerely a cowboys fan lol.
I think sitting is perfect for Hendon. Why? Because he gets to play the reps through his mind first and that always, always, always plays out better for any quarterback. With the mind set, the body can flow naturally. If he has the talent. And does he? Yes. I def believe so. He's got his skill traits. First is the humbleness and at the same time gregariousness. He was out there cheering on his teammates and integrated as synergistically part of the team. He's a team player and a natural leader. Can a humble man be a leader? Yes. A wise leader. Skillswise, if he can learn to recognise and adjust to defenses, like Goff, he, with his smooth arm, just might at some point be as good as Goff at midrange. If he has that potential, he just needs the reps on the practice field, understand all the tendencies and actual speed of his receivers, their little nuances, talk it over with each of them (and again he's naturally gregarious and good communicator (from all indications)). But let's say he matches Goff with midrange. With our great line (if we can keep it), Hendon is more mobile. So helps out the line with that aspect, bales them out at times, as good as they normally are. He has a long stride like Jamo and looks like he has clumsy, large feet, not nimble feet, which is fine. As long as he can move at opportune times, who cares if it's not as pretty as Fields or one of the absolute natural runners. And arguably he has more potential with the deep ball. It appears so from his college tape. He seems smart too, has that look in his eyes (like he is a thinker). Let him develop gradually at the pro level and then let him be his best when it's his time. I'm in the camp of, possibly we play him after next year and replace Goff. Goff has one more season on his contract to win the superbowl. If he can't do that, I support transitioning to Hooker.
If Goff wins the superbowl, hmm, let's see who we can keep on the team with all these large contracts. But we should pay the man as a reward to be frank. But good quarterbacks do take over for good quarterbacks eventually. If Goff turns out to be the next Brady or Payton, shame on us for giving up on him. But, Goff needs to win the superbowl. If he does that then he's cemented in. It's all on Goff's plate. I know he was running for his life in there the past few weeks. Also he was being anticipated by good prep from the defenses. They watched tape and saw his tendencies so they started tricking him, by playing to one thing and then jumping on his throws. The tape helped the defenses the past few weeks, and how Goff and team adjust to that will determine our super bowl chances. Yes, our defensive scheme is not as adroit as it needs to be. If we can straighten that out, then that balance makes us a pretty good/very good team. If Goff can't win the Superbowl this year or next, Hooker will be the next Lions' starting QB, I think.
I like the way he comports himself. Qb r leaders first. Flashy look at me guys r a turn off at that position. I hope he makes a Lot of money as either a starter or backup and has a wonderful life
Just got activated!!!!!!!!! Cannot wait to see him compete with Goff next year…brilliant pick. Gonna be the 2nd best QB behind Stroud in his class bet on it.
The lions got a good one. He keeps his team mates accountable, he makes his team mates better in everyway. U like the guy so much u don't want to let him down. He's the first one in the building and the last one out. He will put 100% I to everything he does. I was at the bama game to and I'll never forget it as long as Iive. GO VOLS!!
He’ll become a starter, got a great ceiling and a solid floor. Brad typically finds gems in the 3rd round so no way he’d waste a pick on a qb if he didn’t want to see him on the field.
Won’t be right away but he’ll definitely start to work his way in as he shows off his legs and deep ball which will dramatically help the offense as Goff is limited in those areas.
Perfect fit as a developmental QB with crazy upside and great value in the draft, considering we don’t need a QB right away. Not concerned about his injury or age but I do want to see him play a pro style system against an NFL defense… then we’ll know.
Great Video. I predicted it and was right he will sit awhile as backup and will shine when it his time to play a snap in the NFL. Hooker is definitely a good QB.
It’s rare that you find an NFL caliber quarterback with character that matches or surpasses his talent. He’s loved for who he is, not even what he did (though that was impressive too😁)
NFL franchise potential for sure. He's tough and thrives when he plays and with passion. Goff is a good QB but imo, Hooker's ceiling is higher than Goffs. Imo it's also an advantage to come in at his age. Look at all the abuse Lamar Jackson has taken physically compared to what Hooker hasn't. Hooker has fewer aches and pains because of it. Hooker is like a newer used car vs Lamar's higher wear and tear mileage. I think he's play a few snaps this season. The fanbase yes loves Goff but they also love Hooker and want to see him play and support him. No one hopes for injuries but it would be unusual not to see some QB injuries in this style of offense. You can't learn if you never see the field. Non-complex offenses that are more QB dependent, score more points the pro-style high complex offenses.
@@Elusivve Hooker's style? lol They are looking at Hooker as their next franchise QB, that's why they drafted him. Goff I think will be good but his contract is up in the short term. He's got ability but not at Hookers potential and level. Also, I don't think Goff wants to stay in Detroit. But either way, Hooker will be playing in short order at Detroit. Just have to see how it works out. Goff also, isn't the runner Hooker is. I think Goff's a good arm but better to have both arm and run threat these days in the NFL.
