This is the lesson I have been needing for years! I could hear the patterns and sounds of the musicians but didn't know how their hands were putting it together. Thank you!! Thank you thank you
These videos are fascinating! I grew up playing piano but without much theory, improvisation, etc., so I’m pausing and rewinding every 5 seconds just trying to wrap my head around all the different chords and such- very cool info, and I’m so excited to finally be learning how to more freely play the piano outside of explicitly written music. Thanks so much!!
Thx, nice and interesting outlook of some of the useful possible arrangements, even if i cant play these yet. At least I could understand the principle.
This is great! Happy to see more John Proulx on the channel. Also happy to see some pop (like hearing those ninths without the sevenths) and gospel along with the jazz. The recent post on Aimee Nolte’s channel was just great. Maybe voice lessons too next time? :)
John this is yet another fantastic lesson from you, thanks a lot. This makes me think of how a songwriter might play chords etc when they're trying to figure out a song and that's exactly what I want to learn! Brilliant stuff.
Hello John Proulx ! You are a great teacher, I like your teaching very much... Could you do a tutorial of hymns "What a Friend we have in Jesus" ? in the key of F or G please. greetings from Finland.
I find these progressions interesting, but NO ONE ever explains how they're introduced into the melody. I usually play the chord with my left hand, so I'm really not sure what this explanation is for.

did someone know, which screen piano he is using? thanks
Hello my son has a theory assignment, he is so lost. college level. are you able to assist. he has had pretty rough school year. 5/9/22

1. Add 7th Chords & Suspensions:
That's good progression but usually suspension tones are need a resolution in the next chord
He resolves them. There was an added E in the melodic right hands thing and when he did the jazzy stuff it was the canonical Csus->C7b9
Oh yeah 16th notes that's when I go to the arpeggiator LOL
Your a little too fast nned more clear explanation.
