बहुत बार मुझसे पूछा जाता है कि मैं अपनी पर्सनल लाइफ कैसे Manage करती हूँ।
मेरे Case में मेरे पति India में काम करते हैं। वह एक IAS Officer हैं और हमारी एक Long Distance Marriage है।
हालाँकि ये आसान नहीं है लेकिन IFS Officers के लिए सरकारी नियमों में कई प्रावधान हैं जो कि हमें मदद करते हैं हमारी Professional और Personal Life में संतुलन बनाये रखने के लिए। ये हो सकता है और ये काफी सफलतापूर्वक हो सकता है।
काफी लोग मुझसे पूछते हैं कि क्या मुझे Leave मिलती है? क्या मैं अपने परिवार से मिलने जा पाती हूँ? क्या मैं अपनी पूरी ज़िन्दगी अब विदेश में ही Posted रहूंगी? मैं ये सब कैसे मैनेज करुँगी? तो अब कुछ कल्पित कथाओं को दूर करते हैं। नहीं ! IFS Officers जीवन भर विदेशी देशों में पोस्टेड नहीं रहते। आदर्श संतुलन कि मानें तो 45 - 50 % करियर एक अफसर को MEA के headquarters में ही काम करना होता हैऔर बाकी विदेश में। लेकिन ये आंकड़े कोई पक्के आंकड़े नहीं हैं। ऐसे कई ऑफिसर्स हैं जो अपने करियर को अपनी मर्ज़ी से दिशा दे पाते हैं। इस तरह IFS officers के पास ये Flexibility होती है कि वे जब chahein अपने करियर पर ध्यान दे सकते हैं, और साथ ही परिवार को भी समय दे सकते हैं।
अक्सर मुझसे लोग पूछते हैं कि मैं अपने माता पिता की इकलौती संतान हूँ, क्या वह लोग भी मेरे साथ रह सकते हैं? मैं उनका ख्याल कैसे रखूँगा? तो मैं आपको बता दूँ कि ऐसे प्रावधान हैं, ऐसे नियम हैं जो कि इस स्तिथि से जूझ रहे officers को अपने माता पिता कि सेवा करने में मदद करते हैं। ये मुमकिन है, और मैंने स्वयं अपने साथ काम करने वालो को ये करते देखा है और इसीलिए आपको इस चीज़ कि चिंता करने कि ज़रुरत नहीं है। और मेरा ऐसा मानना है कि जब भी कोई IFS officer विदेश में पोस्टेड होता है तो भारतीय सरकार उनका बेहद अच्छे से ख्याल रखती है। चाहे वह रहने कि जगह हो जो हमें मिलती हैं, या फिर जो वेतन हमें दिया जाता है, उस देश के Standard of Living जैसे United States और Europe में काफी ज़्यादा है तो हमें उस हिसाब से वेतन मिलता है कि हम वहां एक अच्छा और आरामदायक जीवन जी सकें और साथ में कुछ बचत करना बही संभव है।
अपने परिवार का ध्यान रखना मुमकिन है। उस मायने में मुझे नहीं लगता कि IFS अफसर को चिंता करने की ज़रुरत है। और किसी IFS अफसर को इस बात कि चिंता है तो विश्वास करिये आपको इस चीज़ कि चिंता करने कि बिलकुल ज़रुरत नहीं है। मुझे इन सब बातों के बारे में कुछ नहीं पता था जब मैंने Service Join करी थी। मैं सर्विस अपनी रुचि और अपने जूनून कि वजह से शुरू करी थी क्यूंकि मैंने काफी International Relations और diplomacy पढ़ी थी मुझे काफी ज़्यादा रुचि थी इस नौकरी में। और जब मैंने इस सेवा में प्रवेश किया तो मैं देख के चौंक गयी कि कितनी अच्छी तरह से Posted officers का ख्याल रखा जाता है। तो ये कुछ ऐसी बातें हैं जिनके बारे में आपको चिंता नहीं करनी चाहिए

One can't get everything in life...u Cannot get anything in life without sacrificing some or the other thing......it will be tough ....u should just learn to let go... accept life as it comes to u....yes u will have to sacrifice u r personal life to serve our country as an ifs officer....as our soldiers do on the borders of our country.....life is hard....just accept it...
IFS not serve our country its different word...you can make good relation our country ,serve our country is different they are cheif,engineers, doctor some sometimes students are study in another country they also serve our country but wealthy and healthy relation made only ifs ...I hope you understood

@@Nopeyes1 the job of ifs also includes in serving the country. If you don't know about single word about ifs don't misguided anyone. Serving your country as an diplomat in foreign is proud thing. But you foolish people will never understand the importance of ifs job.

Long distance marraige , quite paradoxical term , marraiges are some things which bring people together , well i guess thats the sacrifice you do when you are in these services its tough

Mam..I have a query, can a IFS officer can marry a foreigner or a person where he or she is posted as IFS officer? And can a person choose foreign country according to his/her wish?
1:16 wait, u said 45% to 50%. But they spend 75% aboard and 25% in India. Maximumn IFS officers also admit that they spend maximum of the life in foreign. I think the statement u said is wrong or it's just an exception.🤔

Ma'am do an ifs officer gets time for travelling? And can they take their parents also with them wherever they are posted? And if they are posted abroad can they travel to other foreing countries?
No...not everytime because you can traveling another country so you can take permission on MEA headquarter this restricted....and don't use diplomat passport in travelling another country I mean not use diplomatic passport un- usually because diplomatic passport only in govt working passport
Maa'm can u tell whether an ias couple be posted in the same place all their life?Or just like in ifs ,ias couples too have to live on seperation?

Not really permanently. You should ideally balance it out
One idea that can work 100%. You have to intentionally or unintentionally fail your foreign language test, then you wont be posted abroad, you will get a desk job at MEA delhi or any regional passport office.

A Foreign Service Board comprising of the Foreign Secretary and other MEA Secretaries decide the postings for officers based on their performance and other relevant skills.

IFS are transferred to another country after every 3 years. Sometimes IFS officers partners are not allowed to work in the foreign country.

1 year training after lbsna orientation program, then 1.5 year approx in a country as per language you choose. Then as a third secretary in a country(depending on conditions)

Hey Mugdha, The External Affairs Minister and finally the Prime Minister are final decision makers on foreign policy. IFS officers provide suggestions and recommendations based on the situation in respective countries

He can live with u... But he is not entitled for any thing. U have to pay for medical, traveling etc
