Part of the slow down in deliveries of goods imported from China during the pandemic was the lack of modernization of US ports. Many innovations which could have been done to make the ports more efficient were blocked by unions that wanted to artificially protect these jobs. With all of the people passing from the pandemic it's doubtful that most would have had difficulty finding work.
