What's the definition of insanity again… Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result… Oh yeah that's what's going on here.
I worked for a well company driving a pipe truck. It hauled 21 cement pipes enough for two wells. I had to back the truck up against the boring rig so we could set the pipes in the well. I backed the truck up to the rig at least 50 times on other jobs but this one setup was "on a slope," and it was muddy. I couldn't get it in position, Gene the operator got mad at me, tried it himself and couldn't get it right so we settled for a mediocre setup. Kroikee!
Watching you struggle to get reattached I was thinking if it was me I’d have used a chain and the hydraulics of the excavator to help pull the truck under. I’d probably break something.
Even with a hydraulic neck have had use the machine to get the neck hooked back up to the trailer after it sank a little bit in the snow. Also have chased a mechanical neck trailer across a icy landing trying to get back under it.
Salut Jpaydirt ! Yes, it's true, it's quite painful to watch, thinking of the exasperation that must be building up inside you after so many failed attempts ! In France, we don't have this type of carrier/trailer, so we don't have this kind of problem ! All our trailers are loaded from the rear, the machines climb up ramps. Of course, in winter the ramps can be frozen, so you have to be careful too ! I remember a CAT 325 that slipped off the edge of the ramp and landed at the bottom of a ditch ! Outch !
It is true, some days are a lot better than others. Years ago we had an operator slide a crawler-loader sideways off a frost covered trailer. It landed on it's side and didn't even break any of the glass. The fluids that leaked out of everything You could imagine was a incredible mess. Good times.
Yes ,that was painful. Having a Mechanical Gooseneck does have it's disadvantages. My Dad had a Mechanical gooseneck Siebert for his Business. we ran into this situation to, we carried some small blocks of wood 6x6's 4x4's 2x4's. what you can try next time you can't quite get back underneath the trailer when loaded. we would have to back under it until the trk spun & stopped, block up underneath the trailer , pull out and get another run, most times that worked, and we could lock into the 5thwheel . I hope this helps.. Btw, what brand of trailer is this and the Capacity ?
Hi, Jpaydirt. Yep, yer right, it IS painful to watch - just one more reason why pretty much EVERYTHING in DowNunda - Australia and New Zealand - loads over the back on ramps. There are single section ramps and what are commonly called 'bi-fold' ramps that are in two sections which lower and lay themselves out automatically as they lower. No disconnecting any re-connecting multiple times just to load or unload one machine. Thanks for the entertainment. Just my 0.02. You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
Oh I would have loved to hear what was being said in the cab. Good thing the camera was on the back of the truck instead of in the cab. Every trucker has days when nothing goes right. But like Jeff we figure it out and get the job done.
Oh man.., mere inches from success out on the frozen ground.., I was sure feeling your pain sir. Jeff always win.., but this one was brutal to watch. I know, I know understatement by me.., you were living it.
Seems like you could pull the truck under with the hoe and a chain in that situation. Probably wouldn’t have enough traction to get to the road either way. Just my thoughts as i watched the struggle bus. Great video 👍
Some days just go that way. We were using my excavator removing trees and stumps around a pond on Saturday. I told the operator who is still learning to watch the hydraulic lines and keep the trees as far away from the machine as possible to avoid snagging a line or damaging the machine. Well 1 minute later the hydraulic line for the boom was ripped off. Ugh. Oh well just fix it and move on!
Yep its hard to watch but you figured it out on got it moved. Jeff Wins 🏆Looking forward to your next video Best wishes to Jeff and the Anderson Family.
Could you mount a modest hydraulic winch on the front of fifth wheel saddle and winch it up when situations like this crop up. Would self centre if set up right. Only need to pull in 15 feet. I feel your frustration.
Man that really sucks Don't you hate when you have to do that over and over and over again I have a friend that loads heavy equipment for Carolina cat and I bet I know I'm talking about and he says about it too
Just another day at the Office. I knew you would get it. You need a outside light at shop. I thought I saw one in earlier videos? Well Done my Friend TGP
Jeff, while I know that was a real pisser to deal with, I actually thought from the title maybe you hurt yourself. I was expecting to see you slip off the trailer or something. I'm sure glad that didn't happen though. Trailers, tractors, excavators and ice all always the devil's personal gifts to you. Hang in there.
@@tomcander3669 well actually they do, some have a 4 axle tractor and 3 and 4 axle trailer but those guys don't have D9's and 637's to move, but all the big boys with big toys use what I have
Joe never say never or at least know when it's time to say it it just like anything else we take up a trade and practice it all our lives we all make mistakes takes a good man to own up to the mistakes and keep going no doubt about it joe your one of a few
There’s just some days a guy oughtta go back home and crawl back in bed for a few hours and get a fresh start.
My Mama told me..."There would days like this!"🙄
What's the definition of insanity again… Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result… Oh yeah that's what's going on here.
A quote from Albert Einstein 😂
👍🤫
Cross locks on both drive axles might have made the difference, but it did look to be pretty slick. Fun times!
The reason that Jeff "wins" is because he never gives up.

Thanks for the sweet vignette of yesteryear. 😁👍
Makes a person happy for Hydralic hook ups watching this. I’ve ran one of these types of trailers and I’d never go back to it!
Good times ! There was never the slightest doubt, as always, Jeff Wins !
Best Wishes to everyone at Anderson Construction.
the video where your talking are the best! im always learning something. happy holidays to the anderson team!
dont get me wrong i love all the iron too!
I hope to see 30+ min vids come back! Love your videos and the knowledge you share.

@@richardlincoln8438Yes, all the old-timers in public works have tons of memories of building sites, some very funny, others sadder, c'est la vie !

i think murray omega
I put my ramps under the trailer, but the frost wasn't thick enough and they sunk, it's a murray omega 16 tire jeep and 8 tire trailer with a stinger
@Jpaydirt A nice set up. and by no means was i judging what you were doing.. i was feeling that frustration..
And Griffy get another bone for the win!!! 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙃
I guess if that had been a contest all that practice paid off!
I'll call that a real test of patience!

One of the many reasons why I never liked equipment moves.
You guessed it. #JeffWins

Last time I saw that much neck bobbing was at a Metallica concert 30 years ago....😮
this is why I love my tulsa winch
Chain the tracks to the lowboy, chain the bucket to the dolly and pull it together 🍻🇦🇺 only in outback
In a real bad pinch with no other options, I actually thought about that but opted for the pavement
Look at the sky! What a wonderful day!
A Butler Ag Division hat… that’s a new one in that area!
Great patience!

Hell that was easy ,but really thanks for the show brother❤

Gotta love winter 😔

Power tower would solve my winter dilemma
Frost and some ground freezing, adventure! Putting tire chains on, dogged trying hooking up (banging head feeling).
Well Mr Paydirt, you gots practice backing up.😅😅😊😊
Yes I do
This is Jeff working smarter, not harder.

I do but it takes forever to light up
I hated frost and ice
Slid a D6 off the side one time just by undoing the chains. And I thought I was on level ground

Jpay, I know where you can get a 84 Cozad, 16-8-8 non-steerable, 10' x 24' deck with a hydraulic 5th wheel tower. Good stout old trailer.......

Painful to watch you start the truck without checking the engine oil in the morning.
Did you steal my used oil?
That's a black 🖤 night you guys have up there
Darker than the inside of Your hat ?

Side load it or get a Drake trailer haha
Can't find a Drake dealer anywhere 😂
@@JpaydirtYou might find one here. Shipping couldn’t be much.
I still say all of that trailer for a 40 ton machine is a waste
Well come to Idaho, run for governor and change the weight laws
@@Jpaydirt no need...I'm sure your competitors don't use a similar trailer to move their iron.
