- Hands up who prefers to eat Cookie Dough before its been baked?? US TOO! The only problem is that Cookie Dough has raw eggs and flour in it and these guys are best avoided as they can carry harmful bacteria. But fear not! Sally is here to show you her recipe for completely safe to eat Edible Cookie Dough. PLUS she will show you how you can mix it up to create all different flavours of Cookie Dough including Salted Caramel Pretzel! YUM!

Basic Batter Recipe
For the full batch in the video:
480g Softened Unsalted Butter
280g Caster Sugar
180g Soft Light Brown Sugar
2 tsp Salt
8 tbsp Plain Yogurt
420g Plain Flour (spread on a baking tray and bake at 160C for 10 mins)
For a smaller quantity:
120g Softened Unsalted Butter
70g Caster Sugar
45g Soft Light Brown Sugar
1/2 tsp Salt
2 tbsp Plain Yogurt
105g Plain Flour (spread on a baking tray and bake at 160C for 10 mins)
For regular Choc Chip Cookie Dough add a drop of vanilla extract to taste and a good handful of Chocolate Chips.
For Chocolate Cookie Dough add a tsp of Cocoa powder and some melted dark chocolate.
For Caramel Cookie Dough mix in some caramel and a little Salt.
The rest is up to you!

Except for the raw egg
I consider regular cookie dough edible till today and I'm still alive 😂 I would not keep it for long in the fridge, but if you make majo yourself there is raw egg in it, of if you like your breakfast egg runny it's raw - I think we make a bit to much fuss.
@@Morticia147 No matter if mayo is store bought, there are raw eggs in it!! Never heard of another way to make mayo before 🙃, but yes I agree with you the whole raw egg thing people are a bit too dramatic about. 🤦♀️
@@MsTwilightgirl94 Can't be. Storebought mayo keeps for months without cooling. And even openend it lasts for a few weeks in the fridge. Industry does heat the eggs in a way otherwise there would be no industrial made mayo. That stuff would be deadly really fast and I don't about the regulations where you live, but in Europe (my home) that would be a problem for the industry.

They didn’t say ‘never’ they said ‘best to avoid’ 🤦♀️ we have all eaten cookie dough but when a professional baker, who is subject to their local council’s food standards agency they have an obligation to provide the medical facts that you can get seriously sick. Same as you can get seriously ill not washing your hands, loads of people don’t do it & are fine but some people literally die…

Lookss yummyy!! Can this kind of cookie dough be stored, and how long will it be in a good condition? It has yoghurt so I wonder if it can be stored for quite a long time.
I have a similar question. It’s less about long-term storage and more about storage location. I’m concerned that yogurt would spoil after several hours at room temperature. Would an equal amount of unsweetened applesauce work for texture? It would provide a tartness, not a tang, but both should balance out the sweetness & richness, right?
