The Indrakshi Stotram is dedicated to the Indrakshi Durga from of Goddess Parvati, the consort of Shiva.
On a visit to Vaikuntha, Sage Narada asked Lord Narayana why 'devas' and 'asuras' were healthy while human beings suffered from numerous disease. Lord Narayana then told Narada that by reciting the Indrakshi Stothram, one can lead a life free from disease. Sage Narada taught this mantra to Indra, who taught it to Sage Purandara. Sage Purandara, in turn, popularized it among humans.

This Indrakshi sthothra was made known to the world by Purandara Rishi,
has been written in Anushtup meter.
The presiding deity for the sthothra is Indrakshi Durga.
The kernel of the chant is Lakshmi,
the strength behing the Manthra is Bhuvaneswari and its axis is Bhavani.
I am chanting this manthra to get the blessings of Indrakshi.
Indrakshyai angushtabhyam Nama
Mahalakshmyai tharjaneebhyam nama
Maheswaryai madhyamabhyam nama
Kathyayinyai kanishtikabhyam nama
Koumaryai kara thala kara prushtabhyam nama
I slute Indrakshi by the thumb, Mahalakshmi by the ring finger, Maheswari by the central finger, Ambujakshi by the pointing finger and Kathyayini by the little finger and Koumari by the inside and outside of my palm.

Indra is Lord Indra and Akshi is eyes of Indra with which he had darshan thus it is addressed as Indrakshi, while worshipping her to wave off all the curse he was suffering with.

Our thatha taught me at the age of 9 years. He was a great vedic scholar and know mantras and pooja, s studied in gurukulam. I studied this sloka. But I forgot in future due to my change of life pattern. Now sai tv I heard this mantra and chanting daily. Great power. We r recovering corona now hearing this sloka. I and my husband both admitted affected corona . Slowby slow recovering. God is with us no doubt. Pray for our speedy recovery.
