    Wow, what a beautiful video! Some of the footages are amazing, as I have never been to Yunnan. It looks like there is a lot green despite the winter time. I dream to go there one day. The food looks great too.:) I think very spicy Chinese food is not common in Europe.

    As Chinese I strongly recommend you spend 2 weeks visiting these places in Yunnan. I remember a few years ago I spent a week visiting ONLY Dali and Lijiang together with my parents as well as my grandparents, that was in a hurry and there were some sightseeing spots we didn't visit😂

      Yunnan is a little cold in winter, except for the urban heat near Laos and Myanmar. But there is a warm sun during the day👍

    I am a Yunnan native who especially likes my hometown. Kunming and Dali are the cities where I often live. Thank you for making Yunnan so beautiful! If you have time to come to Yunnan again in summer, I recommend you to go boating in Puzhehei in Wenshan and enjoy the beautiful lotus flowers!

    Genius to visit Yunnan in winter: best chance to see Jade Dragon Mountain, w. of Lijiang city, in far n. Yunnan Province. U captured the magic of Yunnan. Kunming is my fav' city on the planet. ♥

    6 days is too short to explore Yunnan. Yunnan province land area is about 394k km2 and it is bigger than whole Germany.

      We tried to make most of the time we had :)
      Shangrila is much recommended, but as we have just been in Tibet, we decided to go to other places.

      @@lucasann Xishuangbanna is Dai(Thai) majority area in Yunnan with a totally different vibe.

      @@lucasannCompared with Xishuangbanna, Dehong (Mangshi, Ruili), a Dai gathering area, is close to Myanmar, where there are more delicious Dai food and different scenery than Xishuangbanna!

    Do u realize u stumbled into Kunming at the exact time the Siberian gulls were wintering at Green Lake Park (gulls r from Lake Baikal, over 1K km[s] away)? U r very lucky. Kunming is a world-class tourist gateway to one of the premiere pocket regions on the entire planet.

      @Hill Chan You mean open for tourist? Tourist visa is not available at the moment, only for those who hold Z, S, Q, X, M visas. I hear that tourist visa may probably be available in May .

      It was actually colder than expected, so we felt a little bit cold. I would recommend taking winter jackets with you, just in case

    Hi, can you tell me what date you were in Lijiang? I know your video came out in Jan 2023 but i see quite a bit of greenery and flowers so curious as to when you were actually there. Thanks

      Hey, we have been there during Christmas, so in December. It was cold in Lijiang but still some flowers out, so it was quite beautiful

      We easily booked it via Ctrip. It shows your nearby car rental stations.

      We booked via Ctrip :)
      It directly shows you rental stations close to the airport.

      I heard that if you want to enter China visa-free for 144 hours, you need to prepare the round-trip ticket and hotel reservation information in advance and provide it to the Chinese customs. But I'm not sure if it's true.

      Yeah, you are right. We did the Chinese driver license and booked via Ctrip.
      If you don't have the Chinese license, you might be able to let your internationael driver license being translated and a temporary Chinese license is handed out. Works in Shanghai.

      Don't forget SE Asia as it literally is geographically. Northwestern part of Yunnan are ethnically Tibetan. It's a bewildering mixture.
