The Sun of Freedom Rose High | Ծագեց Արև Ազատութեան | Tsagets Arev Azatutyan

A song dedicated to Hamazasp Srvandztyan, who led the 3rd Armenian volunteer battalion in the First World War, where he would fight in Van, Baghesh (Bitlis), and Hizan. As well as Baku, Gandzak, and Yevlakh, where he held off Enver's Army of Islam for 4 months. Prior to World War I, he participated in the Armeno-Tatar clashes of 1905 in the town of Askeran, which this song dedicates to. He is also the son of Garegin Srvandztiants, a member of the church and the first to publish the epic Sasuntsi Davit (Daredevils of Sasun).
