How To Cultivate Sweet Corn On A 3-Point Hitch Tractor

In this video, Emily describes how her family’s farm uses a 3-pt hitch tractor to cultivate sweet corn. They use finger weeders and sweeps to eliminate weeds at the white thread stage between and in the row. While mounting a precision tool onto the back of a tractor comes with challenges, it can also be a helpful way to start incorporating mechanical cultivation on a farm. Disadvantages include not being able to see the implement making it difficult to stay on the row and having the implement swing farther to each side when steering. A few things you can have to make the 3-point hitch tool more effective is having a sway bar and a depth control limiter. Overall it has been a useful tool to help control weeds in this sweet corn patch.

What is the size of tractor (how many hp is your tractor)?

That is a 67hp International 574. However that setup does not require much hp to run.
It hardly works our 23hp Tilmor tractor.
