Can't wait for the final result, the kit looks very detailed and the Royal Navy scheme from the intro shots makes it a lot more interesting than the regular American navy blue
Great update and nice to see you building something larger than 72nd! I have to say that kit is huge! Love watching your channel as it shows the possible fit issues , with the various kits you build, could be and how to work them out. I did wonder why they did the ‘playability’ bit with the rudder and elevators but not the flaps and ailerons (as this would make posing them dynamically much easier)? Looking forward to part three!
@ModelMinutes Haha, as you may have guessed, this comment was actually meant for the livestream. Don't know exactly what happened. 🤷♂️ Still enjoyed watching it though and look forward to the next stage of the build. 👍👍
That was a great video on assembling the wings, for a small aircraft it is a big kit, sadly I thjnk I will stick to 48th scale, thanks for sharing this video, looking forward to the next update soon, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia, Les
Looks great your vids and skills are getting better all the time glad you're subs are getting higher your one of the best modeling channels for out there .
Very good Matt, love your presentation. I may have missed something there but it looks like the wings must be spread (IE not folded). The doors just out board of the landing gear give access to the wing fold hinges, I think but am not certain for maintenance as they were not requied for the Wildcat with the same fold mecanism, but the hinges are clearly vissible. I think we can agree to disagree on this but at this scale Airfix should have been able to make functioning wing fold as well as many other options like moveable flaps. The Monogram Grumman Avenger in 1/48 I had many years ago had folding wings, retractable gear, openning bomb bay with torpedo. You may see it as play value but I think this sort of feature adds to the model even if you only view it as refreshing the display from time to time.

I'm about to start an Airfix Hellcat myself. Thanks for doing this video, I'm sure it will help.
