If the idea was to buy a car which will retain it’s value, then the first thing you should do is take it straight back and beg them to replace it with a Manual... other then that, nice car, congratulations

Yhh i was losing loads on cars over the years, then in 2019 bought a Focus RS mk2, limited to 4500 in the uk. So hopefully in 10 years its worth £40k 😂

Sorry, but I still doubt it... 🤔 Because I believe you could’ve gotten extra good deals; so why wouldn’t you(?) 🙃 I’m not saying it’s bad/wrong to get the best deal possible, the opposite; the thing is when the ”influencing” is missleading. I believe you might’ve shifted the ”extra good deal” outside the purchase. So let’s say you buy a car for £80k (standard price) but maybe you get to send them a ”marketing/influencer invoice” of £20k or you get comission for everyone who buys a car (referring your name) or places their finances as you did.
I get the thought process, it’s a gamble as bmw typically don’t have brand cache to appreciate, but the best hedge you had against it being a future collectible was going for the third pedal option
Fellow m2 cs owner here. You really want a Eventuri Intake kit, and whatever exhaust you feel like getting. It transforms the car. I run the eventuri intake and a milltek equal lengh exhaust after the gpf + manual valve control by miltek. So no emission problems. And that turbo swooosh on liftoff from the eventuri kit is just insanly fun. Also congrats on getting one of the most amazing bmws ever.

I've bought an M2 Competition in Hockenheimsilver in Dez. 2020 (Fully equipped). It was good choice. Can't wait to drive it after the winter time. Now 4 weeks later the prices are going up. So happy.

My goodness, I just saw that you passed on the manual. To each their own but for pure driving pleasure and retained value I would have definitely chosen the manual.
With all the new M cars that BMW has released over the years, I’m still glad I have my mint manual e46 m3. Timeless design and 333hp is all you really ever need for the streets. Congrats on the m2 CS. I think it would be a classic if it were a manual 😉

Please discuss this in the full review as many swear by the manual and some even go so far as to say the manual is the one that will hold its value better in the future. I had 2015 550 and 2017 340. And now got 2020x4m. Now I understand what i was missing. Super stiff, but a monster. Especially if you slap a downpipe and a tune, it’s insanity.
The price on used M2C must be significantly different in your part of the world. In the US, cars range from low 50s to high 60s used. I would say the average is high 50s. I picked up my 2020 M2C in April of 2019. If I wanted to sell it now, I would have lost $3K or so for almost 2 years of driving. Thats a hell of deal. Basically these cars don't depreciate here. Also, 6 speed cars hold their value much higher than DCT.
Congrats! Unfortunately in Italy the CS was double the price of a new M2C probably because the number of CSs for italian market was very limited. I then took a silver M2C and after 10k miles there are no regrets.
Congrats on the new car, spec is fantastic, love the colour combo. Re exhausts you need to be mindful that systems like the Akra evolution although fantastic remove the OPF and as such will trigger an EML. There is no way to remap the latest BMW Bosch ECU, so cannot code out any EML. There are some solutions to this which are just hitting the market but it’s not straight forward. The Akra slip on is fine and won’t trigger an EML but won’t add that much volume. Depends what you want! Remus OPF will add a fair bit of volume check out Joe Achilles car 😄
The funnest bmw m to drive: 2011 1M. Period. The best looking car to have: M6 GC. Believe me, I had both and I’m kicking myself everyday for selling them for the newer M Cars.
Nice move getting the M2 CS. Don't listen to the non-owners, the mDCT is a perfect match for the CS. The non-turbo cars have to be rapped out to generate power and a manual tranny kind of makes sense. On modern high-performance turbo cars, the low-end torque is so plentiful, that the mDCT is the right choice. I personally drive a M2 LCI w/mDCT in dark grey and I get many compliments.
Enjoyed the video very much and subscribed but was looking forward to hearing the figure breakdown. Its lovely hearing it obtainable to do finance on such an amazing car but we don't know if it is for us lol. Anyway enjoyed the video and will checkout your other vids. 👍🏾
BMW will offer a manual on the new M3/M4 and next gen 2 series. The DCT has been discontinued so the M2 CS with a DCT is still a rare car and will probably hold value the same as the ones with a manual.
I literally almost got a heart attack when you flipped from your M2 to that new green M4, what a hideous thing!! Your car looks very tasteful, fun blue and not boring black or something like that. Well done!
Love the M2 CS especially in manual spec, but do think its a bit optimistic about short term resale value/retaining value aspect. My almost 2 year old super low mileage M3 CS which is even more rare than the m2 CS has already depreciated almost 50%. The financing was similar to my F80 M3 which i traded in and the CS is night and day better than the standard m3 so made the purchase a no brainer BUT realistically in short term it's not really going to depreciate better than standard M3 (at least from the limited research on secondary market I've done). After 5 or 7 years tho, the CS might start to appreciate. Anyway, another great vid per usual.
I am going to combine the M2 Comp and CS as THE best modern "M car" BMW makes. I personally didnt feel that much of a seat of the pants difference between the CS and Comp which says how outstanding they both are. Little monsters with perfect balance.

You don't need to buy a new exhaust. All you need to do is remove the resonators in the exhaust system. I have done this with my F80 M3. It sounds amazing

I have 2020 M2C with MPERFORMANCE Suspension coils. Hugh upgrade over the M2C stock setup. @ RBR I hope the aftermarket springs don’t ruin the stock dampers of the adaptive suspension. I would have not done that yet. And waited until BMW M released the HAS kit.
congrats! for your exhaust, active autowerke sells an equal length midpipe, look at some yt videos of people with it installed it cleans up the exhaust note a lot.
No comparison between Remus and Akrapovic... the Slovenian Scorpion wins everytime. If you can stretch to the titanium down pipes too... you'll never regret that purchase.

But congratulations and enjoy!! Remember the more modifications you do it could actually affect the value in a negative way so just keep that in mind.
Active Autowork equal length midpipe and an M Performance rear muffler is the best exhaust setup for the S55 engines.
Don’t forget to take the sticker off the M2 sign on the seats lol I had mine on for 2 months before I noticed

I think BMW should do a sort of M1 or M145i or something hot hatch with around 420hp in order to compete with the A45S and the RS3

Love the car and great review. As an F80 M3 comp owner I’d love to try the M2 CS as very similar power and suspension set up now, with less weight and size.
You don't need to buy a new exhaust. All you need to do is remove the resonators in the exhaust system. I have done this with my F80 M3. It sounds amazing

I have a 2018 M2 and love the beast! My only pet peeve about these M cars is that they don't give you the new key fob! Why do their top trim cars have the old key fob!!!!!! -________-

I have 2020 M2C with MPERFORMANCE Suspension coils. Hugh upgrade over the M2C stock setup. @ RBR I hope the aftermarket springs don’t ruin the stock dampers of the adaptive suspension. I would have not done that yet. And waited until BMW M released the HAS kit.
congrats! for your exhaust, active autowerke sells an equal length midpipe, look at some yt videos of people with it installed it cleans up the exhaust note a lot.
No comparison between Remus and Akrapovic... the Slovenian Scorpion wins everytime. If you can stretch to the titanium down pipes too... you'll never regret that purchase.
Gold wheels are not specific to the CS. You can option them on the competition and also the front apron and spoiler, etc.
