This statement of Jesus in verses 8:35-37 remind me so much of the questions in Micah 6:6 and 7 "With what shall I come before the Lord and bow down before the exalted God? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old? Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousand rivers of olive oil? Shall I offer my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?" The Holy Spirit broke me by forcing me to answer those questions. Jesus gave the answer in Mark 8. This is such a wonderful treasure, so beautiful.
Marvelous exposition of Mark 8:31-38. “He [Jesus] began to teach them that the Son of Man MUST suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.” God planned, prophesied, and performed the sufferings, the rejection, the killing, and the rising of the Son of Man. Why? Because (1) It is written and the scriptures cannot be broken [Isaiah 53, John 10:35]; (2) God performs His Word [Jeremiah 1:12]; (3) It was planned before the foundation of the world [1 Peter 1:3-21]; and (4) Grace is unleashed for the final purpose of God: to ransom sinners "to the praise of His glory" [Ephesians 1:3-14].
John Piper is Not even..With Jesus. He should be Scorned by Jesus. You have made Piper your god. He is usurping Jesus Place in your lives and glorifying himself in it. Jesus Came to be "with you." Everyone who Seek Jesus is Promised direct and personal revelation from Jesus HIMSELF.. And you are "Settling" for this clowns opinions..and Denying Jesus Relationship with you.

Regarding “listening to God within you …”: Listening to the conviction of the Spirit is possible and even advisable, but we must ultimately check everything with God’s Word. This is where God truly speaks to us. “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick” (Jer 17:9) ESV. Your voice and heart can often be conflated with that of the Spirit. Also: I really think you just don’t like John Piper. That’s fine, but you have no basis for claiming he is unregenerate or has “false humility” other than the fact you don’t like him. Also: I never said he was superior, nor did he. What’s your point? You’re so mad, just don’t listen to his preaching if you don’t like it lol.
