My wife and I call them "The Dollar-ish Tree Store" LOL I'm just wanted to set expectations for those who may want to visit Daiso and expect it to be a traditional dollar store - like the Dollar Tree stores near me. What I really wanted to comment on is, not that they have magic tricks, but they have a great supply of stationary supplies if you are into gimmicking. I have cutters, acetate sheets, double sided tape in 3 sizes, rubber cement, card stock, colored pens to color in the folds one encounters when creasing cards. Daiso also has a great selection of plastic storage boxes, trays, etc. for magic storage. I have a multi compartment container I use for my coins. Anyway, I thought your subscribers should know about these items too. Thanks again.
A couple years ago, I found some dollar magic tricks at my local Dollar Tree. I bought them for my nephew. I was pleasantly surprised, they were actually pretty good. Pretty much what I got in my first magic set. Of course, some are better than others. But worth a few bucks to explore.
Down load Good Translation. You can go to Japanese and put Japanese to English with the camera in app on, and it will tell you what it's saying in Japanese. I like the ring and rope one. I would buy that
I bought 10 various tricks when I was in Japan last year. Easy to make better quality props based on these. Didn't know there were Daiso shops in the United States.

The rings box says "instantly unlinking rings." The rope trick box says "rope appearing on the knot." The other rope trick with the Enlish under it just says what the English says. Very plain names lol. I've lived in Japan for years and have seen these tricks but haven't bought them. Do the Daiso's in America have the circus cards? They sell a deck of cards at Japanese Daiso's for 100 yen (less than 1USD) and other than not being able to faro, they aren't too bad. A couple of the court cards look cross-eyed though.
Every time I see a new dollar store I check out the possiblity of magic tricks. Always fun!
