This is so funny to watch (and learn) I went to Sydney for my son's marriage and brought a stick home (Silver Leaf Ironbark, Jasmin & Jashub Leo) soon as I started playing it, I found where the balance was and did exactly what you show, filed off the spot it "wood" rest on, although I kind of thought that I was damaging an artist's creation. I then went to the mouthpiece and did your exact process (minus the beast machine) and made a raised sides, lowered upper/lower, all by file and sandpaper. I have two clarinets I rebuilt and a trumpet etc. so I have some idea of how to play it (after 12 years of ignoring it mostly). So watching your vids is Really inspiring although it makes me doubt my instrument and makes me think that "if I could only buy a better Yidaki (insert another tribal name), I'd be a better player!" like That guy!
Keep up the in some parts (Keys) over my head,
    Good Works
