I definitely agree, cost of the real deal parts are cheaper and of better quality, but you have a lot of knowledge to modify things to make it work. Not for novices haha

@BurritoMan94 honestly I will try it It's such a bummer that a good gbb costs as much as a real ar but is still made of pot metal, if they made a gbbr with heat treated high strenght tool steel or any kind of hard material, you'd have a co2 capable very hard kicking and reliable airsoft gun... :(
@@nextgenretros2062 hmm it's hard to say since Ive only kept the stock buffer tube. But here a review from a really good marui user who know alot about parts compatibility ua-cam.com/video/9FyhXb7VO0I/v-deo.html
Since we live in a post-GHK age, I feel VFC would be a better starter gun You have the option to upgrade into a Viper Tech without needing new mags, and both have high real steel compatability (better than WE or TM), so if you got RS parts, those transfer over too TM would cost just as much if not more than VT if you want a body kit of some sort (e.g. MK18, URG-I, Honey Badger, etc.), and TM has by far the worst real steel compatability out of any mid-tier-and-up GBBR brand. If the lower receiver is not a problem, and you only want to customize the upper, VT would be better if you live in USA cuz u can just buy real steel and make it work with 10mins of dremel work. Since it is made in USA, shipping is free and the metal is better than anything coming out of Asia. In essence you got higher quality and cheaper parts when you factor in Asian import shipping
I didn't think the VFC mags work zith Viper tech! I have to check that, they seem very different to me, but i could be mistaken. By the way, what do you mean by post GHK age, are they discontinued now?
@@AirsoftArchives i hear talk on the GBBR discord (Heavy Recoil Club, you should join) that GHK's QC has taken a nose dive since COVID and that basically VFC is the new "king" of mid tier GBBR's (as far as AR15's are concerned at least). VFC, GHK, G&P and VT are _all_ derivatives of WA, their mags will work with each other with minimal modification VT generally has tighter magwells than either VFC or GHK (GHK and VFC mags have similar dimensions BTW) so u want to lightly sand down small portions of the latter two's mags to make it more drop-free in a VT. You want to dremel down the areas that have scratch marks from inserting/removing the mag as that is where the tightness is most apparent. You can also get more hands-on help on the discord if you're not too confident on your own. I personally did it with 6 GHK mags (bought pre-fall-from-grace) and they work flawlessly in both my VT rifles (XM177 and M4A1 URG-I) I'd pay attention to VFC right now because they are churning out some excellent GBBR battle rifles (e.g. FAL, Scar H, SR25, G3/PSG1) and they are also about to release a GBBR SIG MCX (look up "APFG MCX", that is VFC's pseudonym to escape copyright). With any luck they may finally grace us with a GBBR MCX Spear XM7...
DNA is supposedly Viper tech quality but uses VFC gas system.

My recommendation is if its possible just put a real bolt release on these things. They're often less expensive and more durable than airsoft parts.
