It was a fantastic.... attempt lol I appreciate Anders for doing what he could but Jesus Christ no wonder this season took so long to come out. I wouldn't have wanted to work on this either.
Happy for the winner! some things I definitely didn’t enjoy about the season and the gameplay, but what I prioritize the most is that this episode shows why college Survivor is something I feel most connected to. REAL EMOTION. Did I like this particular emotion? Not much, but it’s a major bright spot on Survivor that often gets overlooked in favor of BIG MOVEZZZ. Huge shoutout to Anders for the great job he did with editing this season, the recaps, and just the general passion he has for Survivor Maryland. Now for s8. I AM HERE FOR THESE RETURNEES! I’ve heard good things from a certain someone (if we all watched *that* recap we know from who) and I am beyond hyped for it. It can’t come soon enough!!! Now for the daily reminder that we stan Survivor Maryland. Period.
Imo it made it even worse. Santi's edit and game, particularly after the merge, doesn't make sense for him winning. As a result, it feels even less satisfyin than Doug winning imo. Had they better set up Santi and his chances of winning, maybe, but by the time Doug finds the idols, I don't really see it anymore.
Final thoughts on the season (spoilers): 1. Any time Santi was questioned about his game all he went off of was his pre-merge game he literally said "getting Ivy and Liam out" were some of his biggest moves, which to me, makes no sense to be used as reasoning for why Santi should be the winner considering Doug had complete control both pre-merge AND post-merge 2. Tim, delusional as ever, even in the final moments thought he could win. I had to laugh. 3. The jury questioning was the only entertaining part of the season, but it was extremely hypocritical. Every one of them were played by Doug and were blindly following him just as Santi and Tim did. Only when their heads were on the chopping block did they realize it. 4. For how much Doug wanted to win, he didn't show it at FTC. He just sat there and let Santi and Tim basically plead their cases and get the "hero" edit ... really disappointing final tribal performance from Doug and if he was going to do that he shouldn't have cared so much at final 4 whether they voted him out or not LASTLY... JAM + Liam the only good thing to come out of this season
And WE STAN KING ERIC! But yeah, I agree. The edit doesn't make much narrative sense with Santi winning imo and his game peaked pre-merge. He had some decent points, more than Tim had at least. But I still failed to see why he was more deserving than Doug was on a game level. This season was just the worst.
Thoughts on S8 returnees: 1. Katie - MY GIRL! She was my favorite starting from episode 1 of S4, and I was so happy that she won. It looks like Katie has some misgivings about the way she played the game and how she was perceived as a floater, but I really think she's underrating herself. Being amazingly socially perceptive, playing a pitch-perfect under-the-radar game, and articulating your strengths well at Final Tribal are nothing to sniff at. I do think Katie has little to no chance of winning S8 as the only former winner in the cast though. Her target is just too big. The only question is how far she can get. If the other players are being strategic, then I can see Katie getting as far as F6 as a shield. If the other players are playing scared though, Katie could go out first. Whatever happens, I'm just glad that she's gracing our screens again! 2. Sherry - The ultimate fan-favorite underdog. Because of the language and cultural barriers, Sherry was on the outs quickly during her original season, yet she was still able to pull off magic in 1 tribal, which speaks to some real game. I can actually see Sherry going far in S8 if she connects with the right people because she will be well-liked and still probably underestimated by the other players who have seen S4. 3. Morgan - The ice queen. Just having Morgan there for her cutting quips would be enough to spice up S8 for me, but if Morgan learned from her original season and is going to mix it up even more strategically and socially, I'll be so here for it. 4. Eric - Mr. Perceptive. Eric was able to pull off some incredible reads in S7 with very little information, but his lack of social pull/ability to make the other players trust him did Eric in. I'm rooting for Eric to be able to find at least one other player who has his back in S8 because if that happens, Eric should be able to do some real damage and go far in this game. 5. Mike - He grew on me throughout S7. I'm wondering if Mike learned to tone down his emotions in the short turnaround time to S8. If so, he could be a force because a level-headed Mike is actually quite likeable IMO. 6. Faith - I will preface my thoughts on Faith and Dylan by saying that my memories of S6 are foggy, especially post-merge, which turned into a rout because of Emily and Faith's dominance and some poor gameplay by the rest of the S6 players. But Faith was a strong player, and I'm curious to see how her game will change without Emily. Will she find another ride-or-die to the end again? 7. Dylan - From what I recall, he could never find his footing post-merge after emerging as a big threat early on in his original season. Will Dylan be able to tone down his threat level and hopefully capitalize on better positioning post-merge, or will he be another Joe Anglim-type in his return? 8. Doug - The self-admitted villain. I hope that win or lose in S8 he finds some measure of redemption and is able to not take the game so personally while still pulling off his killer social game. Beyond excited for S8!! Let's go!!
This season has been a rollercoaster. Really enjoyed the premerge, but after that it literally got worse and worse with each episode for obvious reasons unrelated to production. Sadie said it best with her jury question... god.. I feel bad for her and the rest of this cast. This experience WAS taken from them because of the final three's disrespect for the game of survivor. The fall from grace my emotions took when tim and santi began to change their decision about turning on doug was literally so big. I couldn't watch the rest of the episode because it was too emotionally taxing, and I knew what was gonna happen, regardless of who won. Doug emotionally manipulated Santi and Tim. Its so obvious they care way more about his feelings than he ever cared about theirs, especially Santi. Period. I don't respect him at all for that. A good friend would be happy for Santi going into a final 3 he could easily win and would understand his decision and take fourth place graciously. While I am happy that he did not win, he did deserve it the most. Shows how low the bar is, lol, but I wasn't really happy about any of the final three as winners. I am forced to question fundamentally whether they were ever playing to win or if they were really playing a game of friendship the entire time, which is something the viewers should never have to wonder, everyone should be playing to win, period. Thank you Anders and ALL of production for another well-put-together season. Unfortunately, not every installment will be a hit. But hopefully this bump in the road will be a learning experience on all ends and of course I'll continue to watch and support Survivor Maryland! Keep up the great work!!!
I’m going to try to give every player this season a compliment, and none of them are going to be jokey or ironic; they all allowed a glimpse into their lives and to have their actions debated by strangers on the internet four years into the future. *cue Rights of Passage music* Natalia-Easily one of the most iconic post vote-out confessionals in any iteration of the show and I like that clip from the intro where you pushed a guy out of his chair during a basketball game. Teresa- It was so fun watching you interpret your own rules of how to play the game and you were a huge character in those first two episodes. It looks like you’re the only Senior not to return but you did make an impact on the time you were given. Ivy- Honestly in a season of painful eliminations yours might’ve been the worst. You were punished for playing too hard but there were players who played ten extra episodes that didn’t play as much. A lot of the guests in the recap bring you up as deserving of a second shot and I agree Evan: What’s Gucci yo? You’re a very strange kid from a different dimension but I enjoyed your time here. It looked like in your boot episode you were starting to get a hang of the game and it would’ve been interesting to see strategy wizard Evan. It looks like you have far more wild things going on than Survivor and you probably don’t remember you were even on this show haha Chris: pretty quiet but had some strategic content in virtually every episode. I think if you don’t go out in the spot you did you could’ve made a deep run. This probably wasn’t your season to win, but I could’ve seen you excelling in Maryland Outback. Eric: honestly what can I say that hasn’t already been said. A great player who is fun to watch; you dropped this, King (it’s not a crown, it’s Mike who you absolutely wrecked in Steal the Bacon. Jasmine: You were my episode 1 winner pick and were team captain of a very memorable alliance. JAM was the piece of tape that held the season together. Sorry Doug lost and you two couldn’t go on that date. Liam: Like a good pair of cleats, you made your mark on the game. Very active in strategic discussions and I think Santi was right in saying if things went a little differently you might’ve been sitting in his chair. Reminds me a lot of Zach from Terrapin Trials, and hey since Zach never came back... Mike- Hilarious player who really grew on me as the season progressed. Started out as an intimidating jock but seems like a fun person to be around. And it looks like you’re now on the right side of history by not liking Harry Potter. Morgan: A huge burst of energy after those deflating Jasmine-Liam-Mike votes. You’d ought to teach Dale Aram some bolo skills. Took over the role of folk hero was Eric was eliminated, Amanda: a huge fan of the game and maybe one of the best players in Maryland History in terms of jury attendance. It can be tough to get an unsavory edit but from your recap it looks like you really grew as a result of this experience. Josh-Unlike Micah, you were never eliminated with an idol in your pocket. A really happy go-lucky guy who was never bothered by the game even when some people were really mad at you. Your crush on Santi was very heartwarming. Sadie: Very strong player strategically and physically. Reminds me a lot of Cagayan Sarah which is bad news for other players should you return. Abbie: A huge comedic presence when you were actually on the season. I actually think you could’ve been the star of the season with a higher commitment level. It was highly enjoyable watching a pretty shy person get so far and do pretty well at such a social game. Ange: My choice for MVP of the season-a source of light throughout a sometimes dreary merge. Your move at the Final 6 is one of the most impressive moves in Maryland history. Dain: I wasn’t aboard the Dain train for the longest time but starting at the pole challenge you had a really compelling underdog story. You were receiving votes since the very first episode and found a way to escape every time. Dale Aram: worked with Ange, someone you never talked to before to take down a trio that has a year of friendship behind it. You and Abbie make a great comedy duo and all your comments at challenges and Tribal were so funny. Tim: Led the season in episode title quotes. Probably got more hate than anyone else, but you did play a pretty solid game-always voting correctly and never receiving votes yourself. I think if I was in this season I’d play very similar to Tim. You were a very active player who didn’t deserve goat status and I’m glad you got those two votes. Doug: My god, the way you dominated this game at some parts was incredible to watch. But the parts where you faltered or acted out were also interesting because it shows a human was making all those moves, not a Brant Steele bot with all the sliders moved to 5. You’re a very talented narrator and the season benefitted from having you tell the story all the way through. Santi: played an old-school integrity based game and kept your word throughout. Charismatic, strategic, athletic, yet never received a vote against him. Your win over Doug was shocking, like if Steve beat Chris L. Overall a deserving winner.
So New Beginnings was pretty much the opposite of Maryland Outback-MO is the bro-iest season by far while NB is the most feminine. Major Conflict shares a lot of traits with Terrapin Trials: happens in the fall, dark undertones, a finale plagued by rain, friendships in jeopardy, and a bitter jury. And now Winner Take All’s first challenge opens in the same location as Guts and Glory and contains 2 G&G cast members.
@@samsuppa8816 Doug has much tougher competition this time around, because the 7 other returnees aren't gonna let him pull the same shenanigans he did on this season, and I think there's gonna be at least 2 or 3 newbies who aren't gonna automatically be doing what the returnees want
For the season and finale itself. I appreciate that y'all made the finale as good as it could be with the content you were given. Casting an eighth season had to be hard because the people meeting the requirements of 1) at the same college, 2) nerdy and competitive enough to commit to a semester long social strategy game, and 3) at least a little outgoing/charismatic/weird/competitive enough to be entertaining definitely leaves a small pool. Pulling out a red string and corkboard to make sure no applicants knew each other would have been a bit much and it would have meant cutting some really good personalities. Alone, almost every player was some combination of charismatic, funny, manipulative, competitive, or messy. That's what you want in a Survivor player and I bet a lot of them could bring entertainment to All-Stars and would deliver a different game and vibe if given a second chance. But the people knowing each other this season. It led to a merge with a lot of bland gameplay (Except final six rocks!) and a finale that just wasn't fun. Congrats to Santi. Next season is a new game at least. I DO believe in Katie's ability to be the Sandra Diaz-Twine of College Survivor.
doug has to be the most unlikable contestant in any season of maryland lol him going from laughing about running the game & how they're not smart enough to take him out to then crying & threatening real life repercussions to santi for considering voting him out was beyond gross to watch
Wow, despite all the shit that went down this season, I do think this finale episode was unpredictable, emotional, and a fine end to the Doug saga. Honestly, the end reminds me of Terrapin Trials in how dark and personal everything got, and the previously-perceived strongest player loses in Final Tribal because of distaste from how they got there. I've always thought that Terry actually was a worthy winner against Foluke, and I will say the same thing about Santi beating Doug here. Doug really did lose control of his own destiny at F6 and F4, and he did not defend his game as well as he could have at Final Tribal, in part because I think even Doug knew that what he pulled at F4 was out of the bounds of the game and not something that he could "own" at the end without destroying his real friendships with Santi and Tim. Santi, on the other hand, fought well at Final Tribal and showed that he cultivated some genuine bonds with old Chikasha. The "hero" actually won. Soooo excited for the returnees next season!! Can't wait to see Katie and Sherry navigate this game again! I just wish we got a return date, but I'll be waiting patiently until then. Congrats on another well-edited season, Anders! I know the way the season progressed was hated by many and the winner might be controversial, but Survivor Maryland is still must-watch television in my eyes. Onto the next one!
But unlike Terrapin Trials which had real and serious conflict that was actually riveting and a winner that made narrative sense given the edit upon closer look and is still a pleasant surprise at the same time, it doesn't feel as right here. The best friend "drama" just made me roll my eyes, it was so melodramatic. And I can't even be satisfied at Santi winning tbh as I don't think it made too much sense for his story, especially with how it's been after the merge.
@@nelsdanburg5407 I may not be able to convince you, but Santi's win was a pleasant surprise that somewhat redeemed the season for me. In fact, the more I think about this finale, the more I love it because of how unexpected Santi's win was and how he was able to change the jury's pre-made narrative going into Tribal into one that favored him. THAT's the sign of a baller winner IMO. I don't know if you've seen Australian Survivor or not, so I apologize for spoilers in advance, but in Australian Survivor 2016, everyone on the jury thought that the eventual winner was an idiot for taking 2 players to the F3 who were both more likely to win the final immunity challenge and take each other to the F2 than her. But the eventual winner called her shot, won the final immunity challenge, and then was able to convince the jury in the best Final Tribal Council performance ever that her winner narrative was the right one, not their preconceived notions of her narrative. Santi wasn't quite on that level, but he did change the jury's narrative that him taking Doug to Final Tribal was a positive for Doug and a negative for him into a negative for Doug and a positive for him. The story is written by the winner. Plus, for me, Santi's win is MORE satisfying because of how strange-seeming it is. I've seen a lot of under-the-radar winners like the Terrapin Trials winner, but Santi's win is REALLY unusual to my eyes. Probably the second-best player of the season sitting next to the "best" player of the season at Final Tribal trying to persuade a jury with most of their minds made up that they should reward a morally-driven decision rather than a game-based decision in order to crown the winner of Survivor and actually succeeding? The result was cathartic and super-satisfying to me.
@@jameschin6391 Yep I saw that season of AUS. However, at least Kristy's story had that setup that made sense for her winning while still not being obvious at first glance. Maryland did the same thing with Terry in Terrapin Trials which I thought was successful. I've gone back through the pre-merge and post-merge and quite frankly I don't see it with Santi, making this an unsatisfying payoff. His edit was just extremely MOR throughout most of the season imo. Surprising yes, but surprising doesn't automatically equal good. Especially when the setup isn't there. It's like with Natalie White in Samoa. Was her game and FTC better than Russell's? Yes. Does the same thing apply to Santi and Doug? Eh I'm not as confident in that argument but based solely on FTC? I can see it. But in both cases, it doesn't make for a satisfying story cuz we hardly ever got to see Santi's game separated from Doug aside from the pre-swap where even on his own, made him a big target. And I don't think he would've been able to overcome that had Doug not helped him out with minimizing his target by being with him constantly and helping him take out people that wanted Santi out like Jasmine and Liam. Both of which mainly happened because of Doug. Yes, I credit Santi for his actually very solid FTC performance. But outside of that, I don't really see it as satisfying from a narrative or gameplay perspective.
@@nelsdanburg5407 Gameplay-wise, Doug's game was flashier and objectively the best up until F6. If Doug had played his idol at F6 and then either won immunity at F4 or hid his threat level enough not to need immunity at F4, then Doug probably would have won 8-0. But what actually happened is that Doug almost went home at F6 in what would have been the ultimate blunder by not playing his idol, and then at F4, Doug's target was so unbelievably massive that he basically had to win immunity. After failing to win immunity, the ONLY reason Doug reached Final Tribal was not because of game reasons. So to my eyes, Doug did not play the best overall game up to and including Final Tribal. Santi used Doug as a shield post-merge and likely would have reached and won any number of Final Tribal council combinations because he managed his threat level better than Doug. It's just amazing that he still won this Final Tribal council combination with Doug in it, but again, the edit for this was satisfying IMO because as Santi said in his confessional, if he had taken out Doug at F4, that wouldn't really have been HIS move, it would have been Dale Aram's and kowtowing to the jury's perception of what a good move was. Santi keeping Doug, on the other hand, WAS his move, and convincing the jury that it was in fact his move and not Doug's is a testament to Santi's skill. Were Santi and Natalie White lucky that they had a jury who were open-minded enough to award a winner on different criteria than what is normally accepted for Survivor winners? Yes. Were Santi and Natalie White lucky that they partnered up with someone who did a lot of the dirty work and embittered the jury? Also yes. But for me personally, I still consider both Santi and Natalie White satisfying winners nonetheless and Doug and Russell Hantz the strongest Final Tribal “goats.”
@@jameschin6391 Idk I think Nat White was superior in her case and does not get enough credit. However you make a fair point about Doug's game and where Santi was stronger from final 6 onward, particularly with his cockiness about the idols. However, despite that blunder, Doug still played the better game at that point. Doug can play it off like it was nothing and be as hypocritical as he wants, but he totally owned Santi and Tim at final 4. How he emotionally manipulated them into keeping him despite knowing he's the biggest threat was one of the greatest moves in Survivor Maryland history. Doug haters can hate him all he want, but you can't ignore that he was able to pull that off against all odds. Was not in Santi's best interest at all to bring Doug. He still won, yes because of his solid FTC, but it probably would've been by an even larger margin had he taken Dale Aram instead as in that final 3 Santi easily wins I would think. So no, I don't see how it was Santi's move at all given that it was not what he was originally gonna do. Credit where it's due though for convincing some jury members that it was his move. You brought up some great points leading to a fruitful discussion.
Doug bragging nonstop about how he's the best player in the game but then getting pissed off and taking it personal every time someone tries making a move he doesn't approve of is exactly why he's not a likable player and I can't root for him. He can lie to anyone he wants but if he catches someone lying to him he throws a bitchfit. DELETE THIS WHOLE SEASON lmao
This is definitely the bottom of the Maryland seasons for me but it is still a good piece of Survivor content that I know Anders and the rest of production put a lot into. Not every season will be amazing but I think we still got some fun moments and characters from this one. I think Anders shined as a host and I can't wait for next season!
Doug threw the game aspect of survivor out of the window and made it personal and based on friendship, so I'm glad that the jury did the exact same thing that he did and didn't give a sh*t about the game he played and voted instead for the person they liked more outside of the game :) Enhorabuena Santi
Wow. This turned out to be a thoroughly compelling endgame. And possibly a great case study to point to anytime someone insists that women are more emotional than men haha Great editing all season! Next one looks great.
I fucking knew it. It was too easy and expected to be a Doug win. No matter what Santi was always shown to be respectful of the game and the cast. It was a frustrating season to watch because Doug was too dominant but I'm glad that at the end we get to see 3 guys talking and acting with their hearts. Being emotional and open about their feelings... I loved that. Edit. Also wtf is that next season casting... those are definetly legends from season 4. How even are they back?
Dale Aram went out SWINGING. We love to see it Shoutout Tim and Santi for ruining the endgame. Sadie's speech said it all. Pleasantly surprised with the winner, but wow could've been so much more dynamic
I have to say that it didn't end up how I thought it would. Part of me loved the fake crying and threatening friendships that Doug did. And part of me hated it as well. I am glad he didnt win in the end. Because he did break rules and he thought some fake tears would win in the end. Kind of annoyed to see him against next season but with enough season 7 players knowing dougs game I dont see him lasting long especially since the returnees are at a numbers disadvantage. Def getting terrapin trials vibes where the final become dark and emotional versus strategy and gameplay. Still and interesting season overall. It wont be everyone's cup of tea. But it does make people feel something. All the yelling at our screen is because the editing and story telling are top notch
Spoilers for previous Survivor Maryland winners * * * * * I just realized this but the starting tribe colors of all the Survivor Maryland winners nearly make up the colors of the rainbow: S2: Steve- Purple S3: Terry- Green S4: Katie- Red S5: Chris T- Orange S6: Emily- Blue S7: Santi- Red If Doug had won Major Conflict or if Santi was a STEM major the winners would form a rainbow. Also, S1’s winner was Orange and the other starting tribe was Yellow.
Im pretty glad Santi won he was a definite underdog but its cool Doug will get a chance to redeem himself next season! Liking the returnees they brought back as well since some of these were demanded by us fans.
01:26 Haha, the memorial Dale Aram eating stuff montage. Thanks to everyone who put this season together, it must’ve taken hundreds of hours of work by a lot of talented and dedicated people. If All-Stars was the season where everything went so perfectly it was almost fan fiction, this was the opposite of that. Every single little thing was a struggle and while it could be frustrating to watch it also shows just how hard this game really is. It’s a common thing in Survivor where one player in a partnership is obvious jury food: Stephen, Spencer, etc. Its really, really interesting that Santi won (and Doug lost) this vote.
I mean, you guys are amazing! Thank you for a Survivor season when we REALLY NEED IT! Spoilers ahead It's fitting that a friend of Doug's won Survivor: Doug & his friends.
So this ended in kind of a weird way, there's no doubt about that. I want to just say that I really love Doug and Santi's friendship. I love how close they are to each other and what lengths they would go for each other. Doug writing a page and a half letter to Santi really hit my emotions because that's super sweet. The friendship they have is the friendship I have always wanted. However, that being said, I think that pre-existing relationships damage Survivor. One of the major draws of Survivor, at least for me, is that it is 16-20 strangers who have to start on their own and learn how to get along with each other and build relationships during the game. Therefore, the amount of pre-existing relationships and complexities of them is one of the pitfalls of college Survivor, arguably the largest one. I think that Doug, Santi, and Tim all played great games. But to be honest, I kind of agree with Sadie when she said that this is the other players' seasons too and felt like those three took that away from them. It is no secret that Survivor can become very personal, and what I saw from this is that the three people who were closest to each other when the game began ultimately ended up getting closer to each other and finishing out together. And while I like that friendship arc in real life, the nature of this game meant that they sort of left the others in the dust. As someone who has played before, I would be absolutely pissed if that happened, especially since I belive one of the biggest draws to PLAYING Survivor (in addition to watching) is the fact that you get to play with strangers and get a fresh start for yourself. I think that this season exposes that fault in college Survivor. Anders and the crew did an amazing job of putting this together, so no disrespect to them. I think it's just the nature of the circumstances. THAT being said, I was rooting for Doug or Santi to win the whole time. So I was not disappointed with the result. And after how everything went down, I'm happy that it ended up being Santi. So congrats to Santi, and I hope (4 years later) that Doug, Tim, and many of the others who ended up on the jury know that they played great games too.
Honestly i know this is properly the unpopular opinion but i think this was a pretty good season huge step up from 6 in my eyes. I loved how this finale showed actual human emotion and really showed how survivor is more then just a game and it’s something i miss about the actual show. Santi winning was definitely a wtf moment i did not see that coming. Doug did play an amazing game but he def did blow it at that final tribal, I really hope he can redeem that ftc performance next season. Overall definitely enjoyed this season definitely not the best Maryland but still a good one for me. Alo most of those returnees next season >>>> Season Rankings: - 1. All Stars 2. Maryland Outback 3. Terrapin Trails 4. Major Conflict 5. Guts and Glory 6. New Beginnings
KrazyCobra1 . Agree. This is 1 of my fav seasons and actually I think the season finished really strong with the wildly unpredictable ending and solid entertainment value throughout. The whiplash in how I thought I was going to rate the season after F6 hurts in the best way 😅
Wow that was an intense finale and gave me flashbacks to Terrapin Trials vibes. I think the jury made an interesting decision. All season long we have had this overarching story I feel of game vs personal especially with all the intertwined relationships throughout and it really came to ahead with I think one of the most controversial decisions of keeping Doug at the Final 4. In the moment I agree gameplay wise I just think it is a completely ridiculous decision when you don't take out the clear front runner. Personal wise I was not shocked by Santi's decision as I felt he would stay loyal to Doug to the end and it would cost him the game but I think it ultimately won him the game. Perception is reality in these games and the clear perception is Santi and Tim objectively made a bad game move but by Doug from an outside perspective seemingly force that decision while good gameplay I could see how it turned off some jurors. Honestly I am shocked Tim stayed loyal to Doug as I felt we saw more of him being willing to turn on him all season and he ultimately did not go through with it and am shocked he pulled 2 jury votes. I think the juror-player communication was a clear violation of the rules and that definitely would have turned me off to Doug reaching out but I somewhat get it from his perspective because Sadie inserted herself in that scenario by messaging Santi and Tim. Honestly, I didn't like it as much from Sadie as it really just gave me the vibes that she lost and she was bitter and gave me I'm voting Doug, taking my ball and going home attitude. While I saw that from Dale Aram as well it made more sense since that decision effectively cost her the win. I didn't really see the need to tell Santi and Tim they were losing 8-0-0 except that they pulled one over on her by forcing her out of the game and this was a chance to let them know they screwed up. It honestly though is what makes the game so dynamic with the intermixed relationships and dynamics of having a season on campus. I think this season told the story of how Doug was likely to win all season and how it was pretty much the locked opinion until probably the tie happened at Final Tribal and him not winning while I don't mind it because I think Santi seems like a great human/friend and good player I think the problem was because this season's story was mainly Doug focused the story feels incomplete. I am super happy for Santi as he has always been one of my favorites ever since we were introduced to him in Generations at Quar and I think he is a great winner representative. However, I feel like this season in hindsight will be more of how Doug ran and eventually lost the game than how Santi won. But once again, great work to everyone on production and Anders for another fun season of Survivor Maryland and cannot wait for Survivor Winner Take All. I think the returning player choices are all fantastic and am hoping it is not just an easy picking of all the new players stick together to take out the returners. I think the chances of that happening are less likely since it is a college campus and there will always be intertwined relationships so hoping that brings some fun dynamics. During Generations at Quar when it was revealed Katie was on S8, I honestly expected a Fans vs Favorites style season with S10 being a full all stars but now seeing it a 12-8 split has me a little worried for the returners but hoping we get some fun newbies in the mix. Thoughts on S8 returnees: Mike - I think it will be interesting to see how he tackles the game. I am hoping he can bring some more strategic chops and he learned something from working with Liam who I am hoping returns for S10 if full all stars. Morgan - She is a really fun pick that I think will be entertaining but I want to see her gamer come out this season. She is in a similar spot as Mike to me in that I hope she learned some strategic stuff from her allies Jasmine or Ange, both who I also hope return for S10 Doug - This pick does not surprise me but I think Doug is doomed this season. He dominated the previous season and if the newbies do become united I see them going for him or Katie, the 2 biggest targets. I think his best hope is a Tony Vlachos-esque story of being an early boot here and then coming back S10 if full all stars and hoping to do better. Eric - The return of one of my favorites of last season. I was hoping he would return and I really hope he can get positioned better this season. We see he has the strategic acumen to do well but I hope socially he finds a good spot with allies to go far. Dylan - This is a pick I assumed would be back for S10 but I totally get it from this point. I think he has some good strategy and I think if he lays back and plays similarly to S6 he could find himself going deep again. Faith - She was one of my locked picks to return from S6 as she was a great character, played a strong game and I believe her first time was a freshman so timing wise worked out well to be around for a returnee season. I think she can do really well as she worked with other strong players in Emily and Alex her last time and I think combined with her current skill set and now being a little older I think she can do some serious damage an of the returnees I think is my chalk pick for the deep run. Sherry - WOW WOW WOW. Honestly this is an inspired choice I never thought could happen. I always love when superfans play the game and being a Gen 1 superfan who I think was robbed of another chance I can't wait to see what she brings into this. Katie - This is another fun pick I can't wait to see how she plays on a return appearance. I think she was in a position similar to Doug during S4 in that she was the chalk winner pick for most of the game for being amazing socially and I think if she can survive the early rounds of being the biggest target of not only being a Gen 1 player but a Gen 1 winner then I could see repeat success for her.
yeah just skipped to the end lol. sad, this is the first episode of Maryland I haven't watched in full and it was a finale. Tim/Doug really destroyed what coulda been a great season.
At the end of the day, I think this FTC was a product of some very uncool and out of bounds emotional manipulation by one player to two other players. I don’t blame Santi and Tim fully, but I still think there were things they could have done to re-evaluate and break out of the cycle of emotional manipulation. Glad he lost in the end - hoping he’s grown and learned that you can’t treat people that way. I am going to say I am more so confused as to why Doug was not only not disqualified but more importantly, allowed back. On a personal level, I wouldn’t want someone back into my series who cheated but who knows, maybe it’s been allowed before and has never been talked about so it would be a double standard to blacklist Doug when others potentially could have gotten away with it in the past. Gonna use the rest of this comment to just say WOOOOO SHERRY SHERRY SHERRY SHERRY WOOOOOOO FAITH FAITH FAITH FAITH FAITH very excited for next season !!!!!! Doug for first boot!
I'm a little if-y on the returnees for next season (of course it's already been filmed, but), they seem put together rather randomly. I REALLY don't need more of Doug this soon. Also Katie (which i STAN)? Mike again? Well, I'm happy to see Eric and Sherry get their chance, it's always more exciting to see pre merge boots who didn't get their footing in the game over the CP5 from last season (Doug) or a winner thrown in the mix.
Overall a great season. I think anyone watching the ending couldn't help but be a little dissapointed. You can't get upset and say please judge me on my game when you didn't make a decision for game reasons at the final 4. If you don't want them to vote personally, then you shouldn't have made a decision that wasn't game related. All in all I respect the jurors for whatever got them to their decision. It's hard to choose between someone breaking the integrity of the game like Doug communicating with Sadie, and Santi and Tim breaking the integrity of the game for not voting Doug out because of personal reasons that had nothing to do with the game. Can't wait for the next season!!!
I liked the season. Maybe it was the worst or second worst Maryland season, but we're talking about a really high bar here. Still a thousand times better than the worst CBS Survivor seasons. I thought Doug should have won, but I understand the reasoning behind the decision - and Santi was probably the 2nd best player of the season.
I went into this episode with dread thinking that this was going to be a fairly predictable F5 to F3 with Tim having no shot at winning (that stayed true) and Santi only having a slight chance but him not likely having the game sense or ability to articulate his case to the jury. I was pleased to see the boys team up with Daleram but quite frankly I thought it was too little too late. With Doug having 3 idols he literally decide who he gets out. Either Doug or Daleram wins this game against 2 goats. I was not at all expecting any of that to trigger a Doug meltdown (maybe a little but not the level of emotional blackmail and maybe over-acting that happened). Then that led to the even more juicy texting drama that made this game so much more ~real~ and eventful because quite frankly in any Survivor the end is usually fairly predictable. Even the most interesting seasons don’t have anything like this personal *drama*. The subsequent meltdowns were amazing but I still felt Doug was gonna win because even if their arguments were right, it’s a lot and even slightly arrogant for passive players to ask the jury to do all the mental work to parse out all moves made in the game and figure out who played independently. Perception is reality and asking merge players to factor in pre-merge gameplay or forgive last minute personal gameplay when players have been eliminating the jury with strategic decisions all game long...it’s a lot. I feel the onus of empathy is on the F3 not on the jury who has more power at end and also because they were wronged hard enough to be eliminated. I agreed with a lot of what Santi and tim said about their games but i felt too little too late (again, a last minute download to a jury who can’t possible know it all-generally doesn’t work especially up against somebody like Doug). But I loved both their explanations and defenses. Credit to a Doug for giving his boys credit (clearly too much and he probably thought he was going to win regardless). Santi absolutely deserved to win so I’m glad he won. He not only articulated his case well (with help from the question to attack Doug’s game), but him deciding to make the friendship vote at F4 caused him to have a chance to win. There was no way he could win without that move. It caused Tim to follow and then Doug and Sadie screwed Doug’s chances with their texting and Sadie really accidentally screwed him by texting Santi what happened which caused all the subsequent events. So that really hurt Doug as somebody who broke the integrity of the game and came intro the end apologetic and weak to prove his friendship back to his friends paving the way for Santis win! Totally unpredictable and an end to a solid season! Great job all. Strong cast with everybody playing hard and when they played like messes that was fun too!
anyways i’m not at all mad that santi won like yea doug played a great game but his attitude and snakiness is what cost him the game while santi had better relationships. he’s has such tunnel vision but it’s ok
I can't watch this until Christmas Break because I have to be responsible and try not to fail this semester but spoilers I spoiled myself on . . . SHERRY X KATIE F2 LET'S GOOOOOOOOOO. So excited to see Morgan and and Eric too!! : DD
Abbie’s jury questioning gave me so much catharsis. Thankful for her inclusion in the season, she is one of my favorite “supporting” characters in all of survivor.
This was probably unintentional, but at Final 4 Tribal Council Dale Aram is wearing a purple jacket, Doug is wearing a black jacket with the hood up, and Santi is behind Doug’s right shoulder, wearing white.
That jury performance from Doug... pretty much wholly advocating for the other people, idk man, one of the worst ever from a game perspective, though it's understandable from a human perspective I guess. Also from F6 on (F6 not playing an idol, F5 giving up control of the idol to Tim too early, F4 the texts to Sadie, which maybe lost him jury votes) he messed up every round after playing perfectly up to that point. Still I'd have voted for him if I was on the jury - happy that he'll have another chance next season. Santi played a pretty strong game - well timed flip on Liam/Jasmine and downplaying himself postmerge well. He didn't play the idol at F6, which resulted in 1/3 chance of going home - I understand it as he thought he had 4-2 majority there and also thought Doug only had 2 idols (one for each of him and Doug at F5), but still a misread and the biggest mistake in his game (though once the tie vote happens I agree with going to rocks there otherwise he's out at 4 (or rather in the Doug spot at 4 of needing to win)). I hope if he had taken out Doug he would have won; if Dale Aram was correct and she would have won in that scenario then the jury really are idiots heh. Tim is an above average player overall. It was nice to see his logic not idoling Dale Aram at 5 and going for Doug there; not sure why he didn't idol himself though. I maintain that if it was a F2, Tim had some paths to win and the F6 TC wasn't as much of a disaster for him as commenters say; voting for Santi as the 1 in a 3-2-1 vote isn't a good look for him jury-wise either. Thanks for the entertainment and happy that there are lots of seasons in the pipeline as more can't be created right now. Excited for Doug vs Katie as 2 of the 3 best players in your franchise (the other in my top 3 is Holli I think) in the next season.
what a mess - but i guess the least unlikable F3 candidate won Santi being a sucka vs Doug being such an entitled brat vs Tim being a godawful player. Of the three sins, i suppose the most forgivable was forgiven. One tends to vote for who one likes the most, and at least Santi for his flawed game is someone most can see as a standup kinda guy. good cast and well made... its just a pity the engame, as Sadie said, was a letdown for true fans of the game. what else can one say, this is the college rendition of South Pacific?
Ugh, what a frustrating season. Honestly, the whole "Doug talking to Sadie and her sending the screens" left even worse taste in my mind then the friendship over game debacle. Like, i don't know specifics of Maryland version of Survivor and it's rules, but from how it came across - Doug honestly should've been disqualified for that, imo, despite playing pretty obviously the best game of the season, and Dain was very right to point that out. I do think Santi won quite deservedly under all the circumstances, and i would agree that he played a better game then Tim, but ugh, i was honestly rooting for no one in that final three, i'm sure they are all nice people and all, but as characters in the season of the show - boy did i want none of them to win at that point. Anyway, tough luck, things happens, and i do believe even at it's least enjoyable (and i think this season is the least enjoyable from Maryland Survivor for me personally) Survivor still produces some compelling moments - JAM as a whole and Ange specifically were a joy to watch, and I can't wait to see more of Morgan next season (as well as Katie, yay!) Definitely excited to watch it)
Doug at FTC: "I didn't make this game personal until like the final 4." Also Doug, at like the 2nd or 3rd fucking vote of the game: "Eric is just a rude person and good people like me and Dale Eram and Dain want to play with other good people."
Well I'm like 5 months late but I'm so sad for Doug. He ran the game from start to finish and was the clear winner imo. I think Santi was deserving, but Doug's more aggressive style of play won me over. Hopefully Doug can pull out the win next season, but based on his reputation as a huge power player, I'm worried he'll be targeted early. I thought it was a great season (contrary to the other commenters all season lol). I loved Doug and Sadie as power players, and watching those two control everything was masterful.
This is what happens when you don't take a shot at the biggest factions, you get squeezed out so easily. Tim said he was fine taking out Doug earlier in the game but then wants to use that as an excuse to why he didn't do so at the last chance?
Hope we all get off the moral high horse for the new season, people who actually played the game with him......i feel the reactions are valid but i need the comments to be serious. I thought we liked villains out here 😂
So glad Santi won. Better than Doug’s pompous self. Probably won’t watch Winner Takes All because I can’t wrap my head around bringing back the one player who cheated. Still rooting for Eric and Katie tho
Rooting for Eric and Dylan next season. I think Tim's game was overlooked and he deserved to win. I wish next season included Tony or Swale from season 6. I hope the season does not take long to come out.
"Disrespecting 'The Game'" So like y'all like realize like literally like like the like this like "disrespect this" like "game" is never more like so amazingly like literally like literally apparently so obz when like: You have a sociopath brutalizing his willing _still_ unconscious dupes. You have that sociopath flat-out _caught_ cheating. You let that sociopath continue. You _then_ invite that brutal, cheating sociopath back.
Very odd season. Having big prexisting relationships ruins the game a bit especially when they go deep because of it. The problem as we saw from the texts between Sadie and Doug is Santi was told what to do from Doug he wasn’t voted out post merge because of Doug minimizing your target is important the problem is he was carried by Doug post merge and didn’t make moves near the end. I guess the whole friendship just made it weird them not sending Doug home and drawing rocks is a testament to Dougs control over this season and why he was the better player.
This was a very entertaining season for me. Congrats to Santi, you played a good game. I was really hoping Doug would get the win but we don't always get what we want and if certain jury members were bitter they could've just said that 😭💀
I think they're on like season 21 now. I wonder what expectation those recent players have of ever seeing their seasons. Knowing it's about to be 2024 and we're waiting on spring 2017 season. Do the new players believe by time they get their chance to watch they'll possibly be 40 and with kids who are now the same age they were on the show? Makes me wonder if other generations are further complete in their editing in an effort to combat such a significant time lapse.
Tim realizing he needed to vote out Doug at final 5 when Doug has 3 idols is somewhat funny. also uhhhh Doug saying if he lost he'd rather lose to Dain because "he played a good game" than Dale-Aram? Where was that energy when Angie was still in the game, SIR? lol at the "If I HAD three idols I would give one to you" part. Is that going to come up in the final tribal and is Dain not going to vote for him because of it?? Hmmm ( I still want Doug to win though) Unpopular opinion maybe but I do think this friendship montage was really sweet. Of course game play wise it is STUPID to take Doug but on a human level I liked the conversation (because it did seem to genuine it wasn't Doug trying to guilt Santi as a strategy and he was worried about their friendship too). DALE ARAM ICON
doug didn't even survive based off strategy in this last round he survived off literally crying and throwing a tantrum lol santi saying "nothing to do with the game but it's gonna hurt my friendship with doug" that's the issue right there, and the host should have NEVER cast roommates in the game. what the hell. also how the HELL do you not make it a final 2 to semi salvage this horrible season lol ?? I wouldn't have even bothered editing this season lol
1. Doug's response to losing the final four challenge was obnoxious and was absolutely manipulative, even if it was subconscious. 2. I can understand Santi and Tim's votes at the final 4. That being said, it was absolutely NOT good TV. 3. ...I do not want to see Doug for another season. I'm sure he's a lovely person, but I did not enjoy him as a character.
Really great stuff Anders! Thanks for another fantastic season. Really appreciate the work you put into this
Fantastic season 😂!! Believe me I appreciate the effort but cmon now that’s delusional
It was a fantastic.... attempt lol I appreciate Anders for doing what he could but Jesus Christ no wonder this season took so long to come out. I wouldn't have wanted to work on this either.
You know y'all? It's like so weird like that this is like literally pinned to like the top of the like comments? Like so super weird?!
"This season is a joke and all our time has been wasted" - SADIE SPEAKING FOR EVERYONE
idk i found Sadie to be quite hypocritical there
Happy for the winner! some things I definitely didn’t enjoy about the season and the gameplay, but what I prioritize the most is that this episode shows why college Survivor is something I feel most connected to.
Period.
i have no clue what you're talking about!
SHERRY SUPREMACY
KING ERIC RETURNS
SHERRY AND KATIE YES
Not gonna lie the winner / ending kind of redeemed this season a little for me lmao
"there has never been a tie in the real season of Survivor"
well that aged like milk
Final thoughts on the season (spoilers):
1. Any time Santi was questioned about his game all he went off of was his pre-merge game he literally said "getting Ivy and Liam out" were some of his biggest moves, which to me, makes no sense to be used as reasoning for why Santi should be the winner considering Doug had complete control both pre-merge AND post-merge
He just sat there and let Santi and Tim basically plead their cases and get the "hero" edit ... really disappointing final tribal performance from Doug and if he was going to do that he shouldn't have cared so much at final 4 whether they voted him out or not
LASTLY... JAM + Liam the only good thing to come out of this season
You really just wrote a whole essay about a season you didn’t like lmao
And what do you mean doug let them plead their cases and get the hero edit? People don’t have edits in real life.
@@JoD-qu7ed Yeah I can still give my opinion on something if I didn't enjoy it so your point is kinda lost on me
And WE STAN KING ERIC! But yeah, I agree. The edit doesn't make much narrative sense with Santi winning imo and his game peaked pre-merge. He had some decent points, more than Tim had at least. But I still failed to see why he was more deserving than Doug was on a game level. This season was just the worst.
Thoughts on S8 returnees:
Let's go!!
WHO CARES ABOUT THIS SEASON OR THE WINNER THAT TRAILER AT THE END I'M DEAD
Thank god this season is over.
Katie stans RISE UP
I’m going to try to give every player this season a compliment, and none of them are going to be jokey or ironic; they all allowed a glimpse into their lives and to have their actions debated by strangers on the internet four years into the future. *cue Rights of Passage music*
Natalia-Easily one of the most
iconic post vote-out confessionals in any iteration of the show and I like that clip from the intro where you pushed a guy out of his chair during a basketball game.
A lot of the guests in the recap bring you up as deserving of a second shot and I agree
Evan: What’s Gucci yo? You’re a very strange kid from a different dimension but I enjoyed your time here. It looked like in your boot episode you were starting to get a hang of the game and it would’ve been interesting to see strategy wizard Evan. It looks like you have far more wild things going on than Survivor and you probably don’t remember you were even on this show haha
Chris: pretty quiet but had some strategic content in virtually every episode.
Took over the role of folk hero was Eric was eliminated,
Amanda: a huge fan of the game and maybe one of the best players in Maryland History in terms of jury attendance.

ERIC IS BACK FOR BLOOD
So New Beginnings was pretty much the opposite of Maryland Outback-MO is the bro-iest season by far while NB is the most feminine. Major Conflict shares a lot of traits with Terrapin Trials: happens in the fall, dark undertones, a finale plagued by rain, friendships in jeopardy, and a bitter jury. And now Winner Take All’s first challenge opens in the same location as Guts and Glory and contains 2 G&G cast members.
OH MY GOD AT THE RETURNEES! Jumping out of my seat!
I just want to be around people who appreciate ua-cam.com/video/lKwe9mrRI3k/v-deo.html as much as I do
Just annoyed that we have to see doug again. Fingers crossed he's out early.
@@samsuppa8816 I mean he was easily the best player this season
Omfg the returnee cast is everything! Team Katie, Faith, Morgan and Sherry
doug has to be the most unlikable contestant in any season of maryland lol him going from laughing about running the game & how they're not smart enough to take him out to then crying & threatening real life repercussions to santi for considering voting him out was beyond gross to watch
Surprised that Santi won but congrats to him! So excited for next season!!!
DELETE THIS WHOLE SEASON lmao
anyways, now that this dumpster fire is over - SO EXCITED FOR KATIE AN, SHERRY, ERIC, MORGAN, JAY S NEXT SEASON
And possibly a great case study to point to anytime someone insists that women are more emotional than men haha
Great editing all season!
We love to see it
Shoutout Tim and Santi for ruining the endgame. Sadie's speech said it all. Pleasantly surprised with the winner, but wow could've been so much more dynamic
Season 8 should’ve featured Faith and Abbie as team captains and be called SURVIVOR: BREADS VS. WATERS
Spoilers for previous Survivor Maryland winners

I just realized this but the starting tribe colors of all the Survivor Maryland winners nearly make up the colors of the rainbow:
S2: Steve- Purple
S3: Terry- Green
S4: Katie- Red
S5: Chris T- Orange
S6: Emily- Blue
S7: Santi- Red
If Doug had won Major Conflict or if Santi was a STEM major the winners would form a rainbow. Also, S1’s winner was Orange and the other starting tribe was Yellow.
People are being dramatic about this season. I thought it was a step up from Season 6.
Why wasn’t Doug disqualified? So glad Santi won, he deserved it immensely.
Spoilers ahead
It's fitting that a friend of Doug's won Survivor: Doug & his friends.
This is now officially a Katie Stan account! Cannot wait for her to win for a 2nd time. 💅🏻
I HAVE TO WATCH DOUG NEXT SEASON TOO 😭😭😭😭 legitimately idk if I can do it. I’m 1000000% team Sherry. Sherry please rip Doug in half lmao
Alo most of those returnees next season >>>>
Season Rankings:
-
1. All Stars
2. Maryland Outback
3. Terrapin Trails
4. Major Conflict
5. Guts and Glory
6. New Beginnings
KrazyCobra1 . Agree. This is 1 of my fav seasons and actually I think the season finished really strong with the wildly unpredictable ending and solid entertainment value throughout. The whiplash in how I thought I was going to rate the season after F6 hurts in the best way 😅
so i dont know who voted for who?
Doug received Sadie, Abbie, and Dale Aram
Tim received Amanda and Dain
Santi received Ange, Josh, and Morgan and then Amanda and Dain on the revote
wowowow Santi literally won the game with that final plea of his. good for him!
OMG the returnees!!!! Sherry, Katie and Eric
SHERRY, we have been blessed.
I think Swale might have been asked, but declined
Thoughts on S8 returnees:
Mike - I think it will be interesting to see how he tackles the game. I am hoping he can bring some more strategic chops and he learned something from working with Liam who I am hoping returns for S10 if full all stars.
Morgan - She is a really fun pick that I think will be entertaining but I want to see her gamer come out this season. She is in a similar spot as Mike to me in that I hope she learned some strategic stuff from her allies Jasmine or Ange, both who I also hope return for S10
Doug - This pick does not surprise me but I think Doug is doomed this season.
I think she was in a position similar to Doug during S4 in that she was the chalk winner pick for most of the game for being amazing socially and I think if she can survive the early rounds of being the biggest target of not only being a Gen 1 player but a Gen 1 winner then I could see repeat success for her.
you're such a loyal fan
yeah just skipped to the end lol. sad, this is the first episode of Maryland I haven't watched in full and it was a finale. Tim/Doug really destroyed what coulda been a great season.
I would suggest to give it a full watch. The journey is a part of the ending.
When's the next one?
S8 is airing every Monday, 6 episodes in :)
how come it’s 12 newbies vs 8 returnings? why not 10v10 like a fans vs favorites theme?
Santi is such a Zaddy!
Hyped for next season even tho I think they should’ve cast 10 returnees and 10 new players so it could’ve been fans vs favs but oh well
I went into this episode with dread thinking that this was going to be a fairly predictable F5 to F3 with Tim having no shot at winning (that stayed true) and Santi only having a slight chance but him not likely having the game sense or ability to articulate his case to the jury. Strong cast with everybody playing hard and when they played like messes that was fun too!
dale aram added to list of best fallen angels yup she’s a queen!
anyways i’m not at all mad that santi won like yea doug played a great game but his attitude and snakiness is what cost him the game while santi had better relationships. he’s has such tunnel vision but it’s ok
I can't watch this until Christmas Break because I have to be responsible and try not to fail this semester but spoilers I spoiled myself on

SHERRY X KATIE F2 LET'S GOOOOOOOOOO. So excited to see Morgan and and Eric too!! : DD
i usually always root more towards the newbies in mixed season but the returnees.... morgan, eric, sherry.... can't wait.
Ok, I questioned last episode why two players would goat themselves for another player. Turns out that the answer is friendship.
Abbie’s jury questioning gave me so much catharsis. Thankful for her inclusion in the season, she is one of my favorite “supporting” characters in all of survivor.
I jumped up and down when I saw that Sherry was playing again
This was probably unintentional, but at Final 4 Tribal Council Dale Aram is wearing a purple jacket, Doug is wearing a black jacket with the hood up, and Santi is behind Doug’s right shoulder, wearing white.
I did think Doug had some Sith Lord/evil Kermit vibes going on with the outfit choices during the finale
I still have Faith with colander for a head as my pfp on discord so when I saw her I busted out laughing I am so excited for the returning players
Excited for Doug vs Katie as 2 of the 3 best players in your franchise (the other in my top 3 is Holli I think) in the next season.
what a mess - but i guess the least unlikable F3 candidate won
Santi being a sucka vs Doug being such an entitled brat vs Tim being a godawful player.
When is the next season coming out?
Anders said in the last recap he hasn’t touched Season 8 yet so I’d guess 2022?
I think Anders said in one year? so by the end of 2021 at the soonest
I'm so tired...please...
yes, please take the time you need to deliver the quality ofc. (it's not like college survivor fans have nothing to watch in the meantime anyways)
Anyway, tough luck, things happens, and i do believe even at it's least enjoyable (and i think this season is the least enjoyable from Maryland Survivor for me personally) Survivor still produces some compelling moments - JAM as a whole and Ange specifically were a joy to watch, and I can't wait to see more of Morgan next season (as well as Katie, yay!)
Definitely excited to watch it)
Doug at FTC: "I didn't make this game personal until like the final 4."
Also Doug, at like the 2nd or 3rd fucking vote of the game: "Eric is just a rude person and good people like me and Dale Eram and Dain want to play with other good people."
Doug's a fun player to watch in S8- it's airing now every Monday, 6 episodes in :)
I really wanted Swale to return
Glad Santi won
I guess I understand as a college student now why it would be hard to vote out your actual college friends but still this ruined this season
This is what happens when you don't take a shot at the biggest factions, you get squeezed out so easily. Tim said he was fine taking out Doug earlier in the game but then wants to use that as an excuse to why he didn't do so at the last chance?
Del Aram was the best part of this finale
Hope we all get off the moral high horse for the new season, people who actually played the game with him......i feel the reactions are valid but i need the comments to be serious. I thought we liked villains out here 😂
Hope can see Dain to join another season ~ he is hero in my opinion ~ if has season as like HvV
KWEEN SHERRY IS BACK
So glad Santi won. Better than Doug’s pompous self. Probably won’t watch Winner Takes All because I can’t wrap my head around bringing back the one player who cheated. Still rooting for Eric and Katie tho
TEAM DOUG, LETS GO!!!!
Rooting for Eric and Dylan next season. I think Tim's game was overlooked and he deserved to win. I wish next season included Tony or Swale from season 6. I hope the season does not take long to come out.
The fringe 5% case came through!
"Disrespecting 'The Game'"
So like y'all like realize like literally like like the like this like "disrespect this" like "game" is never more like so amazingly like literally like literally apparently so obz when like:
You have a sociopath brutalizing his willing _still_ unconscious dupes.
Whens the next one dropping?
S8 is airing every Monday, 6 episodes in :)
@@katiean5680 amazing season so far. Really excited to see who takes it
This was a very entertaining season for me. Congrats to Santi, you played a good game. I was really hoping Doug would get the win but we don't always get what we want and if certain jury members were bitter they could've just said that 😭💀
1:59:06 imagine if Probst knocked over the urn before reading the final votes on live television lol
yo! Anyone know if Winner Take All is gonna come out someday, or any updates on that?
I think they're on like season 21 now. I wonder what expectation those recent players have of ever seeing their seasons. Knowing it's about to be 2024 and we're waiting on spring 2017 season. Do the new players believe by time they get their chance to watch they'll possibly be 40 and with kids who are now the same age they were on the show? Makes me wonder if other generations are further complete in their editing in an effort to combat such a significant time lapse.
it's live :) airing every Monday!!!
S8 where are you
live now!
I really hope that Dain and Dale Aram come back for another season
Tim realizing he needed to vote out Doug at final 5 when Doug has 3 idols is somewhat funny. also uhhhh Doug saying if he lost he'd rather lose to Dain because "he played a good game" than Dale-Aram? Where was that energy when Angie was still in the game, SIR?
lol at the "If I HAD three idols I would give one to you" part. Is that going to come up in the final tribal and is Dain not going to vote for him because of it?? Hmmm ( I still want Doug to win though)
Unpopular opinion maybe but I do think this friendship montage was really sweet. Of course game play wise it is STUPID to take Doug but on a human level I liked the conversation (because it did seem to genuine it wasn't Doug trying to guilt Santi as a strategy and he was worried about their friendship too).
DALE ARAM ICON
am I bad at math or did Doug end up playing only one of the idols
I cant believe Doug comes back again, enough plz
doug didn't even survive based off strategy in this last round he survived off literally crying and throwing a tantrum lol santi saying "nothing to do with the game but it's gonna hurt my friendship with doug" that's the issue right there, and the host should have NEVER cast roommates in the game. what the hell. also how the HELL do you not make it a final 2 to semi salvage this horrible season lol ?? I wouldn't have even bothered editing this season lol
That winner... :/
But I am excited for the next season. I've only watched 4 and 7 so I am happy to see Sherry, Katie, Doug, and Eric
Okay then O.o
WHY IS DOUG BACK NEXT SEASON??!! :(
FAITH! Omg
Does anyone know who each juror voted?
Spoilers:
After all of that they brought back Doug for the next season. 95% sure he goes home early seeing as now his friends aren’t playing with him.
