I cannot put into words how happy i am to see someone on yt talking about the manga instead of the anime. Thank you so much for making this video, i thoroughly enjoyed it even though it was short. Both you and the manga are incredibly underrated it lowkey makes me mad lmao.
I dont care about comparing how great a manga is through quality art cause the more you draw, the more you improve your skills so its obvious her art style gets better time to time. To me, the plot is what moved the story not the art quality. But I agree that Yana Toboso has a unique art that looks aesthetically pleasing. By the way, she is currently working on a Disney Game.
i convinced a guy at my school to read it bc i brought the manga to school and he got interested, and i brought the whole series for him daily and anyways he got obsessed and was absolutely shocked at the "plot twist" it was pretty fun
One of the biggest reasons to read black Butler is to see the upgrades of art style and over all illustration. Especially when you come to the newer books (20-30) and you're realising how good and actually depressing the story and how beautiful the art style has gotten... I would only need to know this and I'd start asap to read. To bad I started reading the manga in elementary school and now I'm going through the good old waiting process for the new mangas. why do they always end on such cliffhangers tho. Also I really like how there are basically now pretty crying faces in the manga. You can see the emotions and feelings on every persons face it's so ughh. I can't wait for the next manga
Wow, this video is such a criminally underrated high-quality content! Finally, FINALLY someone who likes the Black Butler manga too and talks about it. I'm a fan of it since 6th grade and it might be one of my favourite manga just because of the story and the setting. Besides, I'm a boy and never met another male who has read the manga or watched the full anime. The 'middle school romance' thing might be a factor which stops many people from watching it... It's just such a dead fandom, so I'm glad that I found this gem of a video! Keep up the good work. And PS: I'm open for discussions about Black Butler :D
I noticed you comment....1 month later.....put still noticed it!! LMAO this comment is so sweet, I agree with you completely! So much of the fan content nowadays is sorta dull, and so many people write it off as like a uwu yaoi thing! I'm glad that I was able to attract more people who enjoy black butler for what it really is! Thank you for your kind words~
The Yana Toboso art is amazing and beautiful, that nicely contrast with the dark story and themes of the manga And even now she is making official designs for Disney! (for the game Twisted-Wonderland, that also will have an anime adaptation soon)
love the video! black butler is my favorite manga, and you really did the series justice. ah i remember ordering all the volumes through my library chain as a kid and reading them over and over again. the dark story, the comedy, the ART! super inspiring :) id love to have the whole set on day haha. all-in-all, wonderful video, love to see more from you
thank you TT, your comment really made my day !! I'm glad that I was able to reach people who enjoy Black Butler the same way I do, hopefully you will see more from me before the end of the year!!
Ty so much for making this! Ive been starving for kuroshitsuji manga content. The manga is so good, honestly the anime gives it a bad rep. Its so underrated and people need to finally see how amazing it is. Also for your first video its made so profesionaly, cant wait to see more!
AW thank youu! Also I 1000% agree, the series has such a bad rep its unfortunate...but I'm glad that I could bring some of us ~kuroshitsuji enjoyers~ together!
I gotta say I definitely have an art preference and deep fantastical story telling. I got hooked on Pandora hearts years ago, then Black butler, the Patriot Named Moriarty, then the Case Study of Vanitas
I'm not caught up with the manga, but I definetely love the art style and some of the character developments. It's been a huge inspiration for me throughout the years!
Love finding an avid Black Butler fan on youtube, thank you for the pleasant 8 minutes! been a while since I've heard the series stripped down and described in such a way, it brings me nostalgia to when i first entered the fandom. and of course i still totally agree with this now. also- i must say, i actually enjoy the musicals quite a bit! of course they're not all great. the first 3 are not my taste, the next is fine, the Circus arc one is so cool, and the Campania arc one is my absolute favorite. but of course, i am a biased theater lover, so it's very understandable that others aren't. though, even when not focusing on the musical aspects, i must say the Campania arc musical has some amazing plot and character work that the manga didn't do, which was lots of fun to see. but ANYWAY topic for another time. sorry to anyone who isn't a theater fan i totally droned on lol. great video, you have great editing!
I read some of the manga, then i stoped and when i came back to it, i already forget when i ended. Right now, i don't have time to read it from the start again, but i want to come back to reading it someday.
The manga is incredible and absolutely beautiful. Sometimes I just stare at the panels, because they are beautiful and full of little details. The characters are so dynamic and move a lot more now. But I still simp for Undertaker! Muahaha!!! (He was the reason I read the manga in the first place. I simped so much for him that I read 1,2,3,13,14, 18 first..stupid I know. But after a while I really got into the story and started to like the other characters to. I love this manga now, it's story, it's characters and the beautiful art.)
- Black butler fan since the 7th grade - Hates that people reduce the books to Sebastian's looks - Can go into a detailed analysis of the changing art style - Owns most (all?) of the black butler books ... are you me?
I will amidt i havent read the manga, but when i was introduced to black butler i had zero knowlege and expectation on this, i just jumped right in to the anime. To me its the story or concept im sold on and not "the hot character" on any tv show, anime or movie. And i loved the concept on the get go with the demons, soul contract, crime mysterys, revenge all of that good stuf, thats just my jam in the theme department. And im glad that i sat my sight on this show/story and gave it a shot😄
same. The first season (at least) added “edgy” elements that didn’t really need to happen. But I guess something for this mildly supernatural story. Didn’t realize it until rewatching and rereading
@@animedragons9998 Yeah, they added unnecessary edge to the first and third season, and removed some of the normal parts that matter to the series. Like the queen riding on a horse into the place where they held the curry contest, or the couple being killed at the end. Instead they did a anime only endings.
@@Urolling that was only the first season, the third was the book of circus. It’s a shame that a bit more than half of season one is filler and added elements to add edginess
Great video, very concise and easy to watch. Huge fan of BB and the manga, tbh I didn't even notice how big of a jump in quality Toboso's art in the manga panels have improved; I was so invested in the narrative that I didn't notice lol. Your point about the composition of the "flow" in the panels is very interesting, it's a feature in making comics/manga that isn't discussed or brought up as often, yet is extremely important. Good stuff, hope you upload more content soon!
I'm having trouble finding reliable places to perchance English editions of black butler! If anyone knows where to get them I'd be very greatful for now I've gotten them used
Is Sebastian gonna be the final antagonist of the Black butler series? Plus, Undertaker's relations to the Phantomhives where his first meeting of the family was about what starting with Claudia?
Me when I started reading the manga 3 years ago: wow this is gonna be a really interesting series! Me now when I think about the manga: *i am having a mental emotional moral and social crisis about the morality of humans religion and the concept of humanism and what i really want in my life... i love it* Bonus: Me when I started watching the anime 3 years ago: i wonder how this compares to the manga Me when I finished both seasons of the anime: ... oh... well the writing was mid but i love this blonde boy can we write him into the manga but like... good this time???? When I finished the specials: ah yes there we are, that's my familiar story! also daYUM undertaker and lizzy in the atlantic movie like sheeeeeesh
4:42 That's Vampire Ciel?! Yana shouldn't have put a huge spoiler as a cover. I'm talking about Ciel's deceased twin brother lol not demon Ciel.( Spoilers) Both twins go by Ciel so fans come up with their own nicknames for them. Our Ciel is the boy with the eye patch (patchy) and vampire Ciel is the real Ciel that died. i call him a vampire because he is like a vampire, he relies on human blood and he came back to life. He could be called a zombie as well.
i would buy another copy of that volume where the pages are falling out but im poor ok

I'm also a guy who reads the manga so I can totally relate, having no one to talk to about it kinda sucks. Stay strong dude, stay strong.
I don't think Ciel will break out of his contract or wants to. Our Ciel wants his vengeance.
I would give anything to read Black Butler again as if it were the first time. I really love this manga ❤️

It’s fun to watch this knowing that there is now a musical
