For POC solo tank is the best class. Fully upgraded tank + fully upgraded vulture is much less stressful than weapon specialist with sentry gun. The extra health and increased melee damage will count in the second barrier hive, where you will be overwhelmed. Sentry guns are faster than vulture but the hunters and rhinos will stick to them. Level four vultures will shoot incendiary rockets and will kill everything in sight, you just have to mind seekers and rhinos. They will wear down rhinos during nuke countdown. Don’t listen to the internet - the vulture is better than sentry guns. At least for solo POC. The sentry gun is very high maintenance solo and you have to carry them around.

Incendiary and armor piercing ammo aren’t unlocked from the start, and weapon specialist need that. I only started to play extinction two months ago. In hindsight, the best tip for beginners is to learn the map, utilize traps and grind for teeth. Always eliminate scorpions as soon as possible and shoot at meteors before seekers can scurry out. Beginners will die a lot in the second barrier hive because they haven’t unlocked the tools they need to advance far.
