I have watched countless "how to" woodworking videos, and yours by far is the most easy to follow video out there! And I can't wait to get outside now and enjoy the fun of woodworking. I appreciate your time, Thanks for the GREAT video!!!
Thanks Tom. That was exactly my intention. Years ago, I wanted to build a 6-sided windmill but didn't know how. Hopefully this will help someone to get started.
Well, thank you very much. I like to help people by sharing what I have learned over the years. If you lived close by, you could come on over! Take care and let me know if you think I can help you out in some way.
Great video's! But do you know that the dutch windmills always turn counter-clockwise? This is a mistake that is very often made (also by dutch people). I have a garden windmill myself and I'm planning on restoring it soon. So nice video's to watch here, thank you for your clear explanation.
Do you sell any Dutch Windmills? I have a homemade mini golf course in my backyard and really want a windmill feature, but I'm not creative at all. Could I commission you to build me one?
Thank you. I only used a pressure treated 2X4 on the bottom. If you make one, I suggest you not use that 1/4 inch luan plywood for the strips on the sails. That stuff falls apart out in the weather. I am thinking about using some kind of plastic or even metal to make the strips for the sales next time.
Oh man! I did not know that. Is there a particular reason that they all spin counterclockwise? From now on, I will make sure the are spinning right. I don't suppose most people will care which way it spins but thanks for this information.
Ended up here by looking for some 'Out of the Box' thinking/inspiration; Hands down one of the best How-To videos, I've seen.
Thank you. Glad you liked my video!

That was an incredible video pretty much step by step without being really long. I'm sure anyone can build a windmill after watching your video.

I love making things out of wood.🙏🤝💜
Yes it is a very satisfying hobby. Enjoy.
Not to be creepy, but I sure wish you were my dad or brother. You seem so kindly and resourceful. I could learn so much from you.

Wow I didn't know. Great fact.
I have used plywood outside and coated it with all sorts of finnishes and still it de laminates so I would use timber in the construction .
Yes, I found that out. Thanks

You've probably already heard this. You need a cordless nail gun. Awesome video. Thanks
Super.prosze o wymiary elementów.
Thank you for this great video! Is there a complete materials list available for this Dutch windmill? Thank you!
I don't have a material list. I just wing it! Ha! Thanks for watching my video
I love this windmill. I'm going to make one and I'm wondering if you used pressure treated plywood? Thanks

@@TimTools99 Thanks Tim! Not sure what I'm going to use for the sails.
With a bird mouth router you could put together the 6 sides easier and with more solid space for gluing just the same beautiful construction you did
Never heard of a bird mouth router. Have to check that out.
It’s a router bit called bird mouth you got 3 pieces you can do 6 / 8 / 12 / 16 sides

Can You Down load the Plains ?
Tom
Tim, is there a reason you do not make the sides 48" tall, there by using the whole 4'x8" sheet?
I really don't know how I arrived at the measurements I used. You could make yours any size you want. good luck.
Do you sell these and where do you live?
sorry to spoil the fun, but in the Netherlands all windmills turn counterclockwise (your model turns clockwise);
