Alexander wanted his relationship with Hephaestion to be like Achilles and Patroclus relationship. In the end he got it, cause hephaestion died before him and he was as powerful as Achilles. Amazing story....

They went thru everything together, they were philophers and real men bound by the institution of friendship which was sacred in Ancient Greece. No disgusting lie can ruin their image. What a shame Troy (2004) was not able to show the real love between Achilles with Patroclus. We should thank Oliver Stone for his movie's historical accuracy. We (as audience) were lucky to see the love between Alexander and HEPHASTION. Alexander (2004) is one of my favourite movies. I love it.

about Achilles and Patroclus they were more fictional characters so they could put them as they liked as they were not real characters, however they did not show the love and loyalty that Homer described in the Iliad, about Alexander and Hephaestion they were acted guided by Mary Renaulth's novel where Alexander was completely gay, not like the real one who could be considered as bisexual

Wished more moments between Achilles and Patroclus in the movie because in the book there are more moments of them togheter. Anyway your video is wonderful.
Omg this is epic! I don't have words! You perfectly managed to use movies + quotes from poems and pictures, this is so unique!!! I wanna cry!! My eyes can't take such perfection!!! Favorites!!
Not bad, but i have seen better tribute videos. Achilles loved girls, sometimes he was with 2😀 VERY GOOD LENGED. Troy movie has MANY good scennes, Achilles has good tribute videos. MANY people forgotten him. I not.
Omg this is amazing. The colouring, the clips, the voiceover and the version of the song you chose omg just perfect! Is there is something I hate about historians is their ability to pass off relationships like that as purely friendly when clearly there was so much more. It's a really great tribute!
Both Achilles and Alexander loved their partners very much. That they would die for them. Achilles went to kill Hector knowing full well he could die. Alexander was so sad that he got sick and died.♥

You forgot Roxanne & Briseis, who were forced to hook up with Alexander & Achilles, lol It´s funny how tow great men like Alexander & Achilles got such great men´s love but in change their women hated them so much. I love the irony of life.
oh my gooooooooood. you left me speechless as every goddamn time. this is so breathtaking, no words can describe what a magical atmosphere you created with the coloring, quotes, music... everything is so beautiful. amazing, amazing work ♥
Wow... the energy, the power this video has!! Really amazing, I love it so much. Love all the quotes as well, just really flawless. Makes me want to re-read The Song Of Achilles too :)

My heart: Echoes from many souls of man, but from my soul surely whole life. I have longed for "him" all my life, also as a boy. The pain the warrior and all had to endure. The pain in what we who incarnated during these times had to do, in the violent lives our societies was engulfed in and the illusions of desire and violence. The painful solutions in the roaring and looting world. These guys died too young. Now again darkness with spin and games trick goodwills against each others orchestrated by the global 1% elite. This is the darkness and challenging dharma we have to chose.. As my Avathar of the divine source Sri Sathya Sai Baba said this wednesday from the daily words from the Ashram in Prasanthi Nilayam.: "In Treta Yuga, Ravana's brother, Vibhishana, could not put up with the wrong deeds being done by Ravana. Opposing these actions, he tried to correct Ravana in all possible ways. But when his efforts failed and he had no alternative, he sought refuge at the feet of the embodiment of Dharma, Sri Rama. The prime offender was Ravana alone. But in the war with Rama, all the rakshasas (demons) who supported him or sided him, perished with him. They paid the penalty for their abetment of his crime. Whoever may commit an offence, whether a son, daughter, spouse, a relation or a close associate, one will be free from the taint of being accessory to the crime only if they oppose the wrong action and try to correct the offender genuinely. If on the contrary, they allow it or encourage it to be done, they will be guilty of abetment and experience the fruits of their action. - Divine Discourse, Oct 11, 1986. You can transform even a wicked person through your love. - Baba " But remember when you deal with psychopaths you have to treat him as a wild animal, with structure and show him your value. Know this especially if you are a Woman..
This may be an unpopular opinion, but I don't support such kind of "love". They are basically codependent partners, rather than friends, or lovers. They literally cannot live without each other, if one dies, the other also dies. According to the science of psychiatry, t's a mental condition which is not normal. It's normal that one partner may die before the other, the surviving partner is supposed to grieve, then move on. If they cannot move on & end up destroying themselves, it should not be glorified in the name of "eternal love", but should be treated as a case needing psychiatric help!
You're right, but lol in their time this was normal, because all of us who like this type of couple know what they are and they're still bizarrely beautiful
Por qué mezclan las dos películas tontos???? Nada que ver....Aquiles y el chavito eran primos ...Alexander y el otro se supone que eran amantes....Hacen que se confunda quien no ha visto las pelis.
Of course they where... Maybe don't squeeze people into a form as robots. For the scared, dominative only one form is okay, For love many forms are okey. For the spiritual all forms are okay because we all get our experience and karmas. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Achilles_and_Patroclus
Not in the film, no. Or at least it was never explicit. I only ever saw part of it, and it may be that the French version is faulty in it's translations, but they're described as "cousins" and I very nearly shrieked in the middle of the classroom when I heard that. I'd like to point out that I never read the Iliad. My grandmother told me the story when I was around 6, and when I asked why Achilles had killed Hector for killing his best friend, when he hadn't touched Agamemnon for taking Briseis, she said "well, he protected Briseis because he felt she was his responsibility, but he was in love with Patrocles. Do you understand better now ?" She was a teacher, and even taught other teachers. It was so obvious for her that little me didn't even ask if it wasn't weird that two men were in love with each other. Besides... does it matter whether they were lovers (in the physical sense I mean) as long as they felt so deeply for each other ? Ultimately, the video is about two couples who were torn apart by war and death, and the heartache that resulted from it. And it's beautifully done, too.

Be careful what you wish for
Not just that. Patroclus died first then Achilles few days after him. Just as Alexander died a few months after Hephaestion.

I hate how Hollywood made the two related, even though they were practically lovers in the Iliad, to explain their closeness and love for each other.
Yeah!!! "Patroclus, my cousin"... 🤣🤣 I literally wheezed!!!
The discussion "Are they Lovers or not?" already occupied the Greek philosophers.
